And then the Prosecutor asked her the same questions she had just disclosed to the world .That was so odd , was he not listening or was he trying to get he credentials clear to everyone ?
There was evil surrounding this family for quite some time. You have the Nanny who supposedly died from a fall. The friend the boys went to school with found dead on the road. The girl killed in the boat crash. The son and wife who were brutally murdered. On and on it goes. Plus the stealing of insurance money from the injured cop and the stealing from the woman’s sons who worked for Alec. This story is incredible that this much death and crimes surrounded this family. Pure evil.
OMG, I forgot about the young boy they found on the road. That man caused havoc to a lot of people. I bet his family figured he was the culprit from the nanny's death up to his attempted murder on him.
This detective is wonderful. She stuck to her guns (no pun intended) and held her own while remaining professional the entire time on the stand. She said she was nervous but she looked like a pro. God if I was on the stand for a case like this my voice would be shaking, knees shaking, sweating non stop. I’d be a mess; no matter how brave I pretend to be lol. KUDOS DETECTIVE RUTLAND!!!! 💯👍🏽
Yeah putting her hand on the shoulders of Alex. And not noticing he could have done it. Very low view of what could have happend. Also the other police officers over there .
Tiny tears here but I gotta say I’ve never seen eyes so cold as The Father and son here..The way they both sat there and seemed to have no emotions considering the circumstances..It’s Chilling I’m just so glad they caught him
I agree with you....I really think the son should be investigated..I really feel he was in on this with his father. Then to find out he was flipping off one of the witnesses...this whole family is an arrogant mess. That young man should have been removed from the courtroom at that point. Disrespect run amuck. He looks and acts just as soulless as his Dad. No emotion at all and actually seems bored with it all. I hope they get sued to the point everyone that was owed money...even the firm...all the property and EVERYTHING gets sold to pay all he stole and to top it off a wrongful death suit to Maggie's family.. along with the boating incident.
@@Nasdaqbaby Because SLED was doing the crime scene processing. She's a detective, who was there in an administrative capacity, as a liaison between her agency and SLED. Well it’s been a while-enough time to process a lot. And in a public trial-you will be asked to leave if you sit and sob so he probably puts a tight lockdown on his emotions before walking into the courtroom. It’s understandable…at this point. Who knows how he reacted when he first learned of their murders?
I do not pity this family; I am concerned about the people they have hurt. Unfortunately, what happened is not surprising as this family was good at committing and covering up crimes and those of their children. Sorry, but they showed little concern for their victims, for example, the victim's family in the boat accident.
So I had been looking for people in all the videos that I have watched for a comment about Buster n have not seen one until this one. Idk why but I truly feel that he was in on it. Maybe even did the shooting or the second gun or at least knew? I hope they have looked into his whereabouts on that night n checked cell phone data etc….the way he is behaving seems extremely strange and suspicious
Laura was excellent. Very professional and did not get worked up or even slightly confused or annoyed at the defense cross examination no matter how hard they tried.

1. He's telling them he was not at the scene, but the video says otherwise. 2, The earlier video shows him in pants and shirt, now he wears shorts and t-shirt. 3. He asked Maggie to come back from the beach house because of his dads condition, but he didn't spend time with her, nor did he even go to see his dad. 4. He found the horrific scene, called police and a bunch of people, then went to the house to get a gun... He doesn't run and hide scared that the shooter might still be around, nor does he seem scared to walk into the house - after all the killers could be lurking in there, right? 5. According to his attourney he's totally freaked out, doesn't know what he's saying in this daze of horror and devastation - but one of the first things he does is have his personal lawyer come over to protect him when talking to police.
First off, you must not have been watching the trial, because he wasn't wearing pants, the detective even said he was wearing shorts! Secondly, he had to go into the house to see the horrific scene, right, because he couldn't see it from outside, so he didn't see it until he went in and wouldn't have known a murderer might have been in the house, because he didn't know what happened until he went in. Another thing, people do things that's not " normal " when they experience horrific things like he witnessed, and if I seen my son and wife murdered with their heads blown off I'd be pretty fucked up in the head too, I'm quite sure I wouldn't be thinking about someone might still be in the house, my mind would be on what I just witnessed and how seriously fucked up it is, I'd be devastated! Lastly, he had a right to call his attorney, because he knew that he was going to automatically be a suspect, which is just common sense, everyone knows that in a relationship or marriage that the boyfriend or Husband are always the first to be looked at, because statistics shows that in a murder like this or even a missing person, that it's usually carried out by the loved ones. I take it that you aren't very educated on crime, right? You should study more about it, because there's so much you can learn from it.
@@Pauli1984 I do, my mother and Brother does too, it's about how tired you are and what your sleep schedule is like. You can't say that a person is automatically guilty just because they took a nap that a lot of other people don't take, not everyone is the same.
@@roypatterson9910 When engaging in comments, I learn so much from others. When you use insults, it really lowers the IQ of the discussion. Saying things like the person you are talking with doesn’t know very much or imply they aren’t educated pretty much ends the constructive exchange of ideas. Also, you cherry-pick your anti-fucked-up behaviors. Looking for the shooter, not normal but calling your attorney is common sense.
@@roypatterson9910 I am not implying one behavior makes the case. It is definitely not a common behavior and if it’s not something HE normally does, that fact would be important. I walk after a meal and go to sleep at 9:30. I would think most over 50 don’t stay up that late so a nap an hour or so before bed seems a bit odd.
A man so ragingly self-obsessed that he would steal from innocents, and kill his own family for the sake of convenience. For those that said that the motive doesn't make sense, they are completely wrong. From Alex's point of view - it's perfect: He gets to solve the boat case, now potentially gone with the death of his son, he gets to solve an impending divorce, and side-step all the unsettling questions that his wife is asking. He gets to deflect the blame for his hidden life of crime at work, by suddenly, magically, becoming a victim. From where Alex is sitting, this crime is a potential masterstroke, if he can get away with it... Yes, there is the regrettable inconvenience of having to kill his wife and child, but here is a man that lived a fiction, he probably wasn't all that connected to them anyway, not in a real sense. This crime was going to be his great symphony in a lifetime of composing lies, and he threw himself into the effort with full force. There is a probably a part of him that enjoyed it.
@@bethmackins2433 it’s the added pressure that this is livestreamed that adds to her being able to stay calm. When possibly millions could be watching your testimony it’s gotta be daunting. Job or no job it’s terrifying to be on the internet to be scrutinized.
It seems so odd to me to drive all the way to see his momma but only stay for 15 minutes… it’s so obvious he was doing it to give him an alibi. The care worker who thought she saw him with a wadded up blue tarp after the funeral ~ clearly could have mistakenly think it was a tarp but was instead a raincoat. Either way his behavior was rather odd.
Y’all!!! I live in Colleton County, and was tempted to seat myself in a first row seat, and get a birds eye view of the trial, but the coverage on case has saved me the aggravation! 🧐 I gotta tell ya, this case is more tangled than a birds nest on a fishing reel!! At the 1:18:00 time marker they started asking the detective if she observed Alex Murdaugh being “clean”. The attorney then asked her if Alex Murdaugh looked, to her, like someone who had just blown his son’s brains out, everywhere. She answered that she couldn’t accurately say due to many factors and circumstances attributing to that answer. I wanted to point out that the Colleton Co. Deputy that was first on the scene had questioned Alex Murdaugh about the camouflage gun, and Alex stated that he had left the scene, and went up to the house to get the gun. They have no idea if he changed and cleaned up before calling 911. Remember, Alex is an attorney, and it’s very likely this isn’t his first rodeo, so he could have been wearing a hazmat suite, and then peeled it off and cleverly discarded or hid the evidence after killing his son and wife. The reason I point that out is, bc those facts should have been brought up when he asked such an ambiguous question with no perimeters. After all, they say, “Looks can be deceiving”! It’s a very slippery slope, and if they don’t remain vigilant on keeping Alex’s dream team on the straight and narrow, then they will have everyone in the courtroom believing that Alex had nothing to do with it! I personally believe he had an accomplice that helped him with the crime, and left the scene with all of the bloody evidence, so that it could be destroyed, and never discovered. And that would explain how Alex was so tidy, and squeaky clean. It is very suspicious that he claimed to have checked the bodies for a pulse. Yet, there are no shoe prints around the body, or any blood on Alex’s hands. That seen was messy with the biological material belonging to his son and wife, so it would be almost impossible, or unlikely that he had contact with the bodies without getting any of that biological material on him or his clothes. The trial is young, so they may have all of the issues that I mentioned covered. Time will tell! Hugs and love to you all, and I pray that God will keep you safe! 🙏🙏🏾🦜💞🤗
I will say a lot of lawyers have e emits but killing someone's wife isn't as much of a message as someone with happy life would think. A son maybe would send a bigger message but a lot of dudes want to divorce their wife anyways.
this dude made damn sure the crime scene was contaminated by calling all his buddies and family members to come over and trample the scene. he's an attorney, he knows all about crime scenes.
What are you talking about? Did you not watch the body cam footage of first on scene responder yelling at officers to not walk here or there constantly? You would think after OJ, responders would have more sense. They contaminated it right off the bat, then more sloppy work by SLOP csi. Pathetic.
I don’t understand how he can be so clean if he at least checked on his wife . I don’t care what condition they were in I would have to hold my baby, even kiss them at least hold their hand one more time -even just to check Maggie’s pulse he would have blood transfer. It doesn’t seem natural, He’s was just (too) clean
He had time to bathe and put on a fresh white t-shirt and shorts, which looks to be similar to one with a pocket/logo he is wearing in a picture of he and Maggie together in a boat. I don’t believe he would have ever worn that casual of clothing to visit his elderly mother or father in the hospital. And any other white t-shirts he is photographed in are always undershirts. That is how he rolls. If he did what he said he did, he would have had large amounts of blood on both his shirt and pants as well as on his arms and hands. His shoes would have been stained as well.
He's not stupid tho , being absolutely drenched in blood ...weather it's from shooting his family ..at point blank range ..or from trying to save them ? It would the one thing....next to be caught red handed with the gun in his hand ... that would convict him ..he thinks he's being clever what with , being a lawyer ..who has probably sat through lots of murder trials ...he's thinking I've got this now ..got away with it ..let's see shall we ..let's hope the jury is way smarter then him
When officials 1st arrive on scene and check bodies do they get blood all over them ? If he would they would to. But no the officials don't get blood all over them.
@@groupergary5536 Um, your comparing apples/oranges: the officials who processed the scene wouldn’t be bloody because they did so according to protocol to prevent contamination of evidence so no, they wouldn’t have blood on them. Unlike a “shocked & grieving” husband and father who wouldn’t even consider any of that while, hoping to hear a heartbeat from one of them, out of pure emotion.
Seems like the Defense attorney gets mad because he cannot ruffle her. She is doing an awesome job and I could never be so serene with someone up in my face. Thank god we have people like her in law enforcement. Just the facts Ma'am. Thank you.
Just coz there's no blood.... doesn't mean he didn't kill them ...he's just very smart with what to do ..to clean up a crime scene ...it's just so heartbreaking 💔💔💔💔 😡 he is cleaning up his own , evil crime scene ..please don't let this guy walk
@@Rnnurse2023 I look forward to the part where there was no shoe prints around the bodies, supposedly. If that is the case, he sure will have some "explaining" to do about checking on them.
@@jrey6186 i seen elsewhere that he had actually called his wife to come over to that house; his wife had been staying at their other property because they weren't getting along. She had texted someone and said "he's up to something" but went anyway. If you include this with that fact that he was totally clean, after claiming to check the pulse of a body surrounded by a blood pool, my GUESS is that he either did it, or set it up
'Clean' bcos he went in the house, showered, changed clothes, got another gun for supposed protection, came back to scene & called 911. Who does that? Maggie had a bullet thru the wrist ... he would not hv been 'clean'.
That's the insinuating picture that's attempting to be painted! If there aren't bloody clothes to backup this officer's hesitant demeanor in answering a question as to whether the defendant looked like he could have just blown his son's brains out I think she's making herself look bias and not at all credible
Watching this again…did anyone else notice this in the video interview? Alex is being asked by SLED about the family dynamics, Agent David Owen asked; DO: “how was Paul & Maggie’s relationship?” AM: “wonderful” DO: “how was yours & Maggies relationship?” AM: “wonderful. We had our things here & there but we HAD a wonderful marriage” How was Alex so quick to put his marriage in the past tense? An innocent man would have said “we HAVE a wonderful marriage”. Anyone questioning his innocence needs to do is watch his face as the court camera zooms in on him when they pressed play on the video. He looks like he’s in a petrified trance. Alex said he touched both of them, but w zero blood on his hands or clothes. If I found my family murdered in that way, not only would I be inconsolable, but you would have to physically tear me off of them. No matter the condition they were in. What a douche nozzle. He always thought he was the smartest man in the room. Well he thought wrong. 💔
I don't know about that. I think I would've said HAD too....I mean she was gone. I think he's guilty as heck, but I don't think I fault him for saying that. Jmo
Yes. He switches from past tense to present tense a good bit. David Owen also asked him about relationship with Paul and he says “as good as it could be” but then goes on to describe Paul as a wonderful, wonderful good guy. AM also said he CAME BACK UP HERE (talking about the kennels) I thought he was never there. David Owen knew or at the least suspect.
I noticed the same thing in Alex’s responses…”we had”…not “we have”. He had severed both relationships (in his heart and mind) before he did the killings. At least that’s the way I see it.
It’s very satisfying to know that Alex will be in prison for the rest of his life for fraud regardless of if he’s found guilty of murdering his wife and son. He’s an evil man.
When are they going to try Curtis Eddy Smith for drug Trafficking, money laundering, Tax Evasion, and shooting Alex on Talahacchi Road and other non disclosed crimes?
how do you "know" he will spend his life in prison for financial crimes? white collar crime does not get the same sentences as violent crimes of persons and property. he's stayed out of prison for these financial crimes for 10-20 years, why would he go to prison now? It's only money you know.
@@karstensbran1751 he got caught, arrested and is in jail. 99 felony charges....he's never going to be a free man. I'm a Private investigator and this is my expertise!!
I don't understand that. What was he trying to accomplish? It's like the idea just came out of left field. Nothing in this case suggests a possible gang attempt unless he has had contact with the Panthers during his career. Are there Panthers where he lives?
No. Not well put. While a good intuition, it is a falsehood. You aren’t allowed to ask questions at length when you’re testifying, so merely not asking questions and just having answers alone means nothing.
After several days of observing AM...why does he seem to know when he needs to show emotions, to look down and shake a little....seems staged to me. A typical person would begin to cry at unacceptable moments vs. These planned tears...he makes me feel sickly!

I doubt you actually know how to recognize shock because that video was pretty straightforward. The body language experts didn’t seem to think it was unusual.
There's no way you wouldn't have your child in your arms and you sure in hell wouldn't be thinking of about retrieving a gun. No way!! But the way he's talking on the recording when their getting his statement he's seriously missing the overwhelming grief. I totally think he did it. Don't know if he had help but he's guilty!!
I agree with you. He says he tried to turn him over but had not a drop of blood anywhere on him. Horrid as it is he would've gotten away with it too, if SLED hadn't come in to investigate.
Why don't we use our god given common sense we have vs getting tangled into the lawyer's banter and trying to create an illusion that takes you down a path having nothing to do with the facts. This amazing young lady's training is not in line with what she has embarked upon.
40:58 Alex is moved to tears when watching the videos of himself being interviewed by investigators. He faces the jury when he pretends to be crying 😢, every time. Every move is to be deceptive to the camera and jury.

I would agree but he had no phone and claimed at least-that he had to run back to his truck to get his own phone. Still think he was trying to delete that video
If you watch Alex, it really bothers him about Paul more than Mrs Maggie almost like he wasn't suppose to be at the kennels at that time of night with his mother.
That in itself is off. Both victims late at night at the kennels in June at a hunting lodge. One maybe to feed the dogs but both victims and shooting a woman if you are mad at the son? No this was a case of luring them there to get both.
The damning evidence is that he's in the Instagram video taken 10 min before the murder...wearing different clothes. I wonder if investigators asked him where those clothes are.
You’re confused. His voice, or I should say rather what the prosecution claims is his voice, is heard on an Instagram video, roughly 10 to 20 minutes before the supposed time of death, but you never see him. you’re confusing that with a separate video taken many hours earlier, while he and Paul were out on a ride around the farm. It’s South Carolina in June. It’s hotter than hell, almost 100% humidity and people change clothes all the time.

@@codyferrell1031 I don’t think the police recovered those clothes… but I also don’t think the police looked for them. The prosecution brought it up almost 2 years later, and tried to make a big deal out of the fact that the maid didn’t know where those clothes were, but keep in mind, Alex Murdaugh never spent another night in that house. He packed up and moved out. Blanca never washed his clothes ever again. It’s not unusual that she would not have found those clothes. As for why Alex doesn’t just go pull them out of his closet and produce them, he’s lost a lot of weight in the last two years and probably doesn’t have them anymore. Either way, the prosecution is just grasping for straws here, there’s no way anyone could have blown Paul’s brain out of his skull with a shotgun and not been showered in blood. The only possible explanation for how Alex could have done that and not been covered in blood would have been to have been either buck naked, or wearing a Tyvek suit …. Not slacks and a polo shirt.
Murdaugh is definitely way too calm and chatty when interviewed directly after. How can he even function? He already has a handful of suspects yet wasn’t scared about a shooter getting him.

If his mother was in late stage Alzheimer’s wouldn’t even know the husband was in the hospital. Late stage, they are lucky to recognize their own children! He is lying!!!
I find it interesting that the older son doesn’t seem to have much emotion to him sitting through this nightmare… where was he when this nightmare took place?
There’s no shock or horror! My wife! Maggie! She’s gone! Paul! OMG! NOTHING. He is very concerned, however, with telling his story and providing suspects and a timeline.
My two theories are this: He was signing his assets over to Maggie to hide them because of the Mallory Beach lawsuit. During this process Maggie left him and had enlisted an individual to do a forensic analysis of their finances. She was possibly going to use his misdeeds in their divorce. Maggie also would not sign his assets back over to him which he needed for a loan he had taken out. He went to kill her but Paul was there, unexpectedly, and he had to shoot Paul. That was where all the emotion had come from. He was prepared to kill Maggie and Paul ended up being collateral damage. My second theory is that Maggie and Paul were disgracing his name and he needed to get rid of his dead weight. Maggie was divorcing him and Paul was just a royal mess up. Each of their “misdeeds” were leading to his being exposed. Paul’s boating accident and Maggie wanting a divorce. I am not sure I believe he pulled the triggers to both guns. I do however believe genuinely in my heart that this man played a direct role in the deaths of his son and estranged wife. As my momma used to say “when you lay with dogs…”
@joanne phillips exactly. He knew the son and wife had been out at the kennels because he was there with them as well. Which has been proven and he has given that statement to detectives that he knew they were at the kennels together.
Of course. He has gotten away with lying cheating stealing probably his whole life and he will probably get away with this. These rural cops trampling all over a crime scene????? He knew exactly what to expect.
IMO: he did it . Also doesn’t help that he’s a terrible actor. Who as a renowned lawyer should know better how to control his smirking & other off-putting behaviors in the courtroom. But I guess when you’re a psychopath all that fancy “book learning” just flies right out the window!
If he was a good attorney, he wouldn't need to murder people. The Bar Association needs a major audit in South Cackalacky. They'd be a better state of the focused less on hating Black people and more on reading a book. I'm from the South and gladly gtfo because stupid rubs off if you're around it for too long. The quality of education is a joke. Look up Savannah Sparks. She's a psychopath pharmacist from Columbia SC where apparently anyone can get a PharmD as long as their KKK daddy's pay enough. Savannah got married on a plantation and likes to tell the entire Black community online she knows best what is and isn't a plantation. The level of racism in the South leaves little room for much else. Savannah is trafficking photos of children on only fans and the Board of Pharmacy for South Carolina won't even open an investigation. Cheers to South Carolina, the land of murderous attorneys and pedo pharmacists.
Well when the family stole tens of millions and were accused of getting away with multiple murders.. Don't doubt someone would kill them execution style.. He gained nothing by doing this and he was known to do dirty stuff out of greed.. I think the woman that was likely killed son did it just guessing.. Or any of the mega rich people he likely stole from
So they said that there's a Snap Chat video that Paul took of him & his dad as they were driving around checking the trees earlier in the night. I'd like to see if the clothes that his dad is wearing in the Snap Chat video are the same clothes that he was wearing after the murders? Also, I want to know more about the large rain coat that they found over at his mom's house in a room that Alex had reportedly went into when he was there that night. Investigators had first thought that it was a tarp so it must have been pretty large. Large enough to cover him up completely from blood splatter? Also, the rain coat had gun shot residue all over the inside of it. Not sure if it was this witness that talking about the Snap Chat video & rain coat, or if it was the woman from SLED. Watching these testimonies, one after another is kind of starting to make them all blend together on me. Either way, I don't see him beating the wrap on this one. Even if he does somehow manage to beat it tho, he's still looking at 99 other charges for all of his fraudulent money dealings. His major downfall was thinking that he was much smarter than what all the investigating detectives were going to be. Edited: I just checked & he's for sure, wearing a different shirt after the murders than he was earlier in the night on the Snapchat video. So circumstantial evidence or not, he's done for it.
Doesn't show his dad. BUT it does show the ground. Cops observed how much water were in the kennels.. Wasnt much water in the kennels on the snapchat video...
I wonder if “he” & “his lawyers” think he will get off these charges?! He knows he is getting found guilty on the financial charges, he admitted to some of them already.
If I came upon my husband and child shot to death, lying on the ground, I’d be covered with blood because I would’ve been holding them in inconsolable grief. I would not have been clean at all. I wouldn’t be thinking of the crime scene or anything else but them.
I love her straight forward answers. Keeps the attorney stumped, they want to make an argumentative reply but can’t. She smart does not add to her answers.
I was a cop for 25.5 years and, I’ve seen the worst a person can do to themselves with suicides and, what they will do to someone they are supposed to love. Chris Watts in Colorado killed his pregnant wife and two small daughters and, then put them in oil tanks! Chris Coleman of Illinois worked for Joyce Meyers Ministries from Illinois killed his wife and two small sons. This happens more than you might think! In Omaha a man killed his sister and her 5 year old son because she wouldn’t give him money for drugs! Cruelty knows no bounds!

It is a "strategy" .... there is a purpose for everything he said that will ultimately come out. The detective is fully aware of this and knows why he questioned her that way. She is a professional and knows what is going on and not offended / ruffled by it
Yeah, the further south you go, the worse good old boy corruption. I visited a supplier there, it's funny how they treat different races with utterly open prejudice.
@mydogblue1 me too. The corruption seems more self-aware here, and the people are far, far more likely to call them out on it. A few years back, the entire town police office, as well as part of the sherif office, were fired due to corruption.
I got the impression he's making a list of all the goodies he can now claim with no other family in the way. I hope I'm wrong about him but man those eyes are spot on as cold as his fathers.
For someone who just discovered the lifeless bodies of 2 of their 3 immediate family members, Murdaugh is extremely calm in his first interview with SLED.
Look at son in court, the photos and crime scene detailed are detailed.....dad is breaking down in front of jury.... and son and family members have no....reaction to his brother and mom being killed on their family farm???? Look at court room attendance? Also if your kids brains are gone and wife shot, wouldn't you run like hell until police came? Who cares about a cell phone in a pocket?
San S. You make a very good point. How did he know the killer wasn't there anymore? If he didn't kill them how did he know the killer wasn't hanging around, IMO wouldn't worry what if you were the target?
@@marylou4324 Exactly! added to that, he asked other fam member to COME there. Only someone who knew there was no threat to their lives would do that, otherwise an immediate reaction would be to tell everyone to stay away cos the shooter might still be hanging around on this huge property, and at night time at that. Weird at the very least.
Especially if you see your family is shot dead. You would run, look for a gun to defend yourself. Call 911 begging for help to come, and that the person who did this could still be there. You definitely wouldn’t just hang out feeling safe and secure. If this was my family, the tears would be flowing as I was being interviewed. He is talking as if he has already went through the stages of grief.
Most families aren’t connected to even one questionable death. This family has 3 (Smith, housekeeper, Beach) then the financial fraud, toss in the wife and son murders, sprinkle it with a self orchestrated hit job. Very hard not to see this guy as high, very high on the probable for this crime 😏
I don't remember if Alex ever said : who could have done this horrific killings of my wife and son. I will do anything to find out who did this. And any father would have touched their bodies to check to see if they were still alive even if it was obvious(brains were blown out) because normal people would have refused to accept the cruel reality when it happened so suddenly
Paul's brain was found by his knee... his father did that to him. Even if he wasn't so clearly guilty as sin his clothes were too clean and pressed if he'd been wearing them all evening. I'm.pretty sure you could see the fold lines in his crisp whit T-shirt. I'd have touched my family members whether they were clearly deceased or not because your brain can't process that kind of trauma quickly but no he didn't go near them. Like he said on the stand "what a wicked Web we weave when we practice to decieve" well he sure got stuck in his own wicked Web just sad he had to take so many innocent people with him and I mean Mallory Beach and Stephan Smith I don't believe his son was a good person he killed his friend and didn't give af and Maggie was a spoilt, I dulled lady who cared more about her appearance and her family's appearance than anything else.
@@Ruth78620 agreed. The whole family was above the law for a while and Maggie, Paul, Buster are all ruthless at heart to take all three people's lives.
Did the attorney questioning her not listen to her introduction at all??? She just said that after her third baby, she went to work at Parris Island and that she was a victim’s advocate. Two minutes later, he asked he if she ever worked at Parris Island and what did she do there? 🙄
I'd like to be able to watch his sons expressions the whole time he's hearing his dad on recording. Its very telling to watch people react by a quick look they dont realize they may be showing. In my opinion.
Did anyone notice how he looked at the female det. before she started to testify. He was glaring at her so ugly he didnt even blink. His true colors showed. Trying to intimidate her..., but i saw it.
If Maggie's car was impounded, and presumably searched by authorities, I wonder about the testimony that the housekeeper gave about bringing the car home, cleaning it, and finding Maggie's wedding ring under the seat. Why didn't the investigators find it?
I was just thinking that the other day when i saw an EMS vehicle. I imagined the attendees at my former husbands death scene. How do they handle their minds after seeing tragic events.
The difference is this what his own flesh and blood and beloved wife apparently - you would have to be a pure psychopath the way he is acting in the car interrogation without any grief whatsoever
I know everyone grieves differently to some degree but he seems awfully calm and just so full of information when he is speaking to the special agent and detective in the car. Even if he did not love either his wife or son, and was not happy at home, you would think he would be at least some distraught. Don't forget, this is only just a short time after he discovered their grisly shot bodies. He is just way too much in control of his emotions. It will be interesting to see if he takes the stand. I don't think he will; he has been an attorney way too long.
The son in the back !! He’s as calm as can be ,that was his Mother & Brother & he doesn’t look as if they were ! even if this was someone that you knew it would be such an emotional situation & so sad to hear how these poor people died . These law enforcers are very strong because imagine seeing such awful things 😔
Sociopaths don't have real emotions they can only mimic what they see in others. Anyone would have checked if either was still alive (unless of course he knew they were dead because he killed them) The only reason there would have been such a violent bloody scene was because he thought if he was clean he wouldn't be suspected.
He stated that their family had no problems and acted oblivious yet then he seemed to know alot about his son being targeted after the events of the wreck.
Isn’t it odd that the SLED in the car interview never asks him about the other son - like, is he somewhere safe? And also, wouldn’t they be concerned for their safety, if there is a family killer on the loose?
@@maisydaisy9216 they do ask him about buster and he said buster is on the way. At one point Alex is in the car and on the phone with someone else and Alex tells them to not let buster up to the barn.
He was waaaaaaaaay too calm in that police interview in the car, while talking about "people threatening his son", who he just saw with his head basically mush
Alex's brother already said he looked like he had taken a bath.He was not in the clothes Paul was videoing earlier.Where's the clothes and shoes Alex? Probably where the guns are. Maggie and Paul was not staying at Mozelle. Noone knew they were there except Alex. They were lored to the home by Alex. Maggie and Paul was shot by Alex.
So he had to have changed his clothes because he got blood on himself from touching the deceased as he said in an interview he took their pulse and tried to turn one over whom was covered in blood. Maybe he changed clothes at his mother's. The guy is a narcissist psychopath in my opinion. On that day; didn't his wife allegedly file for a divorce? If the jury buys his ACTING and lies...another murderer goes free.
Yup, he took Maggie's phone, drove down the road & threw it to muddy the water, went back to the house, showered & changed clothes, grabbed a different gun (they had an armory), returned to the scene & called 911. 💥 Boom💥
He has been cheating, stealing and lying at his law firm for years he has had lots of practice. He also had plenty of motive. His wife going to divorce him if she found out he had embezzled millions she would have ripped him to shreds in court.
if someone did help him, wouldnt it be messed up if it was his other son. guy looks real relaxed and smug for someone whos lost a sibling and mother and whos father is accused of murder. has had a ''i know something they dont know' look n his face this whole video. i could just be seeing things of course, but you never know.
@Freddie Fedowitz after i wrote this, someone said he has an alibi. so maybe he's just chill cuz his dads got off with a lot before, and he's just thinking his dads gt nowt to worry about this time either and that he'll get off with it?
Being a detective would be hard for me because even watching this stuff as addicting as it is it really depresses me knowing there are people out there constantly plotting. It'd overwhelming and if you aren't strong it could break you because from my perspective 5 percent was a high number and I think that's a lowball stat.
Right, plus they see some really disturbing things. Listening to her describe the bodies, it's got to be hard seeing it in front of you. It's got to take a toll.
I don’t know how Buster sat through this entire case. 😕I lost my best friend in a car wreck we were both in and went to court one day because of it. Facing the memories head on has a way of ripping your soul out. Our brains don’t want to remember details like that. I really feel for every family member and friend involved 🫶🏻
The craziest part is Buster still says dad is innocent. I understand he doesn’t want to believe it, but cmon dude. “He’s a thief, a liar, a manipulator, but he would never hurt mom or Paul”. Busters own words, not mine. Unfortunately bud he is all those things and a Killer. Those are my words and every other competent person in the US that watched this trial.
Just watching something like this show you exactly what the police must go through on a daily basis. I will never know how they can do this work. It seems like they spend so much time jumping through the legal hopes. Then they must go through this again. God bless them all.
It would be hard to express how very much I appreciate your words. I was married to a noble, brave officer (he died several years ago), and the things he had to endure all day every day were incredible. So much of the abuse came from "minorities" and immigrants, yet he could not say this. Thanks for getting it!
On the flipside, then there are the scuzzy ones like the lead investigator on this case, who admitted to perjury on the stand today, and lying to the grand jury
Like many predators, Alex M had a plan. He was going to stage Paul as a suicide. I think Alex expected Maggie to be at the house by his timeline of shooting Paul, staging it, and then getting Maggie and taking off for his mom's. Then, the two of them would return and find Paul. I think Maggie stayed at the kennels too long, Wouldn't she have asked Alex what time he was leaving to go see his mom? It was getting late. Murdaugh's window of opportunity was closing, so his plan had to change up to include Maggie. I think Murdaugh was in the golf cart/atv vehicle when he shot them both. Hence, the lower trajectory of Paul's fatal head wound and Maggie's initial wounds to the abdomen. He may have ran over her leg when firing the fatal shot to the back of her head. He used the cart to avoid leaving footprints in the body fluids. He used the garden hose to shower off, changed his clothes, and then spent atleast another 15 minutes at the scene. He came back and spent another 15-20 minutes before he called 9-11. He made sure to use guns that day to have GSR on his hands, inside his vehicle, etc. I think he dismantled the guns and got rid of the parts in multiple locations. Testimony indicates he made efforts to get witnesses to state something different than what they recalled. He tried to bribe nurses to use their phones while in the hospital with the drive-by shooting head would. Who believes that your drug dealer will say, "Okay" to shooting you in the head and not expect a payment - or something? Alex was Eddie's financial source and Alex was a distributor. Why would another drug dealer agree to eliminate his cash cow? From the get-go, with the 1st interview the night of the murders Alex has been yakking and yakking anb yakking and not saying anything. Mr. Helpful has no clue who could have killed his wife and son but he has no problems dragging the names of others into his "circle" of suspects. He's deliberately vague except when he's running off at the mouth for the benefit of appearing helpful and cooperative. He's a narcissist who thinks he's in charge and he's the smartest guy in the room. Always. He hasn't done a hard day's work his entire adult life unless stealing from clients is considered hard work. He's another entitled p.o.s. Even in the courtroom. He's not the defendent. He's the victim! He lied about when he was at his office the day of the murders. He knew when Maggie got to Mosele. He knew when Paul got there. He knew when he got there. His co-workers stated they had to let him in the office that day because he said his key card wasn't working. That day is when Alex realized the jig was up, his criminal behavior was found out, and that was just the beginning of the house of cards falling down. Lyng and buying time is what Alex did best in life. Paul dying might even take care of that civil lawsuit if he wasn't able to be convicted of the death of Mallory Beach. A suicide would work better than a random murder. But " ...the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray." I think the state has met the bar for determining beyond "reasonable doubt." Murdaugh was there. He had motive. He had opportunity. His alibi is full of holes. In Alex's mind, Paul was the source of all the undoing of Alex's life, his lifestyle, and his career. The evidence is compelling that the man is a liar, a cheat, and the jury should figure out they can't trust anything out of his mouth after listening to his interviews, phone calls, etc.
Don’t agree completely with Paul being the complete down fall of Alex’s career. Alex played his game of stealing people’s money because of greed far to long not to get caught.

Pure evil.
Yes. And the evil is named Alec Murdaugh.
And the stealing from his friends and business partners.
,There,s much more.
And that's just this family. There were 2-3 other generations! Supposedly Alex's Dad had mistresses. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I strongly believe Buster also played a part some how.
What an excellent detective! Calm, composed demeanor, and very professional! Was very diligent and precise when being questioned!
There were a lot of mistakes made at the crime scene, and the search warrant was exercised in the most appalling manner.
I was wondering how she made it out from her desk Job.
Why didn’t she take any steps to make shoe impressions? That’s not a “great detective “
Plus she is hot
@@Nasdaqbaby Because SLED was doing the crime scene processing. She's a detective, who was there in an administrative capacity, as a liaison between her agency and SLED. Just because she's a detective, doesn't make her a crime scene evidence technician. Those are specialized skills, just as hers are.
Every time they show Buster in the audience as the detective is talking about his murdered mom and brother, he shows no emotion whatsoever. Unreal.
Sorry, but they showed little concern for their victims, for example, the victim's family in the boat accident.
maybe Buster is the accomplice..
So I had been looking for people in all the videos that I have watched for a comment about Buster n have not seen one until this one. Idk why but I truly feel that he was in on it.
So right about not being scared!!! Also, who takes a “nap” after a 7:50pm dinner?
Hi, wow, that is a remarkable observation and comment! Very insightful and well written, most likely all true! 🌹

And that he thought those in his employ/on his path would bend to his requests to lie for him.
It seems so odd to me to drive all the way to see his momma but only stay for 15 minutes… it’s so obvious he was doing it to give him an alibi. Y’all!!! I live in Colleton County, and was tempted to seat myself in a first row seat, and get a birds eye view of the trial, but the
coverage on case has saved me the aggravation!

Luckily it's a jury trial cuz he thinks this was a good idea that says a lot him being a lawyer.
@@Rnnurse2023 I look forward to the part where there was no shoe prints around the bodies, supposedly. If that is the case, he sure will have some "explaining" to do about checking on them.

@@jrey6186 i seen elsewhere that he had actually called his wife to come over to that house; his wife had been staying at their other property because they weren't getting along. She had texted someone and said "he's up to something" but went anyway. If you include this with that fact that he was totally clean, after claiming to check the pulse of a body surrounded by a blood pool, my GUESS is that he either did it, or set it up
Point is that no blood on him points to him lying about checking the bodies. He would have been covered in blood or at least some blood.
'Clean' bcos he went in the house, showered, changed clothes, got another gun for supposed protection, came back to scene & called 911. Who does that? Maggie had a bullet thru the wrist ... he would not hv been 'clean'.
That's the insinuating picture that's attempting to be painted! Watching this again…did anyone else notice this in the video interview? Alex is being asked by SLED about the family dynamics, Agent David Owen asked;
DO: “how was Paul & Maggie’s relationship?”
AM: “wonderful”
DO: “how was yours & Maggies relationship?”
AM: “wonderful. We had our things here & there but we HAD a wonderful marriage”
How was Alex so quick to put his marriage in the past tense?

Buster (the older son) had just been kicked out of law school for cheating.
That family sure kept themselves busy.
This man has gotten away with alot already, don't let him get away with murdering his wife and child! Put him away for good!

Investigators had first thought that it was a tarp so it must have been pretty large. Large enough to cover him up completely from blood splatter? Did anyone notice how he looked at the female det. before she started to testify. He was glaring at her so ugly he didnt even blink. His true colors showed. Trying to intimidate her..., but i saw it.
I'm not seeing any indication of AM in the beginning of this video. Can you give a timestamp?
He is kinda cold to her as well during the interrogation. Compared to how he speaks to the men.
Oh so it was weird back then, but they all allowed it to be swept under rug? They should all be in prison.
If Maggie's car was impounded, and presumably searched by authorities, I wonder about the testimony that the housekeeper gave about bringing the car home, cleaning it, and finding Maggie's wedding ring under the seat. Why didn't the investigators find it?
All through the case there was no more talk about the ring. I wonder if her sister would know and was never asked.
I think just same.
Exactly 💯
I think the bloody clothing, shoes, etc are somewhere between the Murdaugh residence and Alex’s parents home. Wonder if they searched that house.
That’s where the raincoat was found the parents house
I know some people can, but after seeing that I would not be able to talk to anyone especially saying what I saw. I would be too devastated
I was just thinking that the other day when i saw an EMS vehicle. I imagined the attendees at my former husbands death scene. How do they handle their minds after seeing tragic events.
Exactly... and certainly no one would understand what we were saying if we did talk.
The difference is this what his own flesh and blood and beloved wife apparently - you would have to be a pure psychopath the way he is acting in the car interrogation without any grief whatsoever
"She was very good." It was so nice of him to give the 911 operator such a glowing review while being questioned about the murder of his wife and son.
Right? I think this is called schmoozing. He does it a lot.
I know it! Just by that first interview it’s obvious he did it. Talking about useless random sh*t
It’s also the patronizing behavior of one used to calling all the shots.
Hes a lawyer
Agree, no emotions at all, very cold, IMO
The son in the back !! He’s as calm as can be ,that was his Mother & Brother & he doesn’t look as if they were ! even if this was someone that you knew it would be such an emotional situation & so sad to hear how these poor people died . These law enforcers are very strong because imagine seeing such awful things 😔
Sociopaths don't have real emotions they can only mimic what they see in others. Anyone would have checked if either was still alive (unless of course he knew they were dead because he killed them) The only reason there would have been such a violent bloody scene was because he thought if he was clean he wouldn't be suspected.
He's an attorney , trained not to show emotions, but to be calm and resolute.
The boating so called accident which took place quite awhile ago
@@maisydaisy9216 they do ask him about buster and he said buster is on the way. At one point Alex is in the car and on the phone with someone else and Alex tells them to not let buster up to the barn.
He was waaaaaaaaay too calm in that police interview in the car, while talking about "people threatening his son", who he just saw with his head basically mush
@@josephtrinkle3255 Yeah, it's pretty psychotic isn't it?
If the jury buys his ACTING and lies...another murderer goes free.
that's not what it means it very well could mean he wasn't there until he arrived ...
The guy has actual shark eyes a dolls eyes, soulless
They won't believe him lol.
Yup, he took Maggie's phone, drove down the road & threw it to muddy the water, went back to the house, showered & changed clothes, grabbed a different gun (they had an armory), returned to the scene & called 911. 💥 Boom💥
Wonder why just Maggie's phone was taken??
Men who lie give tons of details. Like sunflowers and mom gets anxious alone
Seems to be a murderer and a thief. Lawyers are showing you they can't be trusted
He has been cheating, stealing and lying at his law firm for years he has had lots of practice. He also had plenty of motive. His wife going to divorce him if she found out he had embezzled millions she would have ripped him to shreds in court.
He was sweating, they (clothing) were dry.
She nailed him!!! 💪💪💪
if someone did help him, wouldnt it be messed up if it was his other son. guy looks real relaxed and smug for someone whos lost a sibling and mother and whos father is accused of murder. has had a ''i know something they dont know' look n his face this whole video. i could just be seeing things of course, but you never know.
Did not look overly distressed when the deaths were described.
@@SJC49 yeah and the dad did. can you imagine if the dad actually didnt do it and it turns out it was the other son the whole time?
As a neighbor not jaded by their name I assure you Ole Buster has some secrets to hide and has helped his daddy!!
@Freddie Fedowitz after i wrote this, someone said he has an alibi. so maybe he's just chill cuz his dads got off with a lot before, and he's just thinking his dads gt nowt to worry about this time either and that he'll get off with it?
@@D0S81 that’s what i I believe
Being a detective would be hard for me because even watching this stuff as addicting as it is it really depresses me knowing there are people out there constantly plotting. It'd overwhelming and if you aren't strong it could break you because from my perspective 5 percent was a high number and I think that's a lowball stat.
That's why the divorce rate is so high with police officers!
I can handle it 😊
Right, plus they see some really disturbing things. Listening to her describe the bodies, it's got to be hard seeing it in front of you. It's got to take a toll.
Or it's a fake show trial, like the other ones. Always seems to happen when GOP runs the House!
@@the-finn i think about that when i see EMS ambulances as they attend some gruesome death scenes. I couldn’t do their job at all.
Apparently he collapsed outside the courtroom and sobbed for hours like a baby
They LOVE it! That's why they're in it! I'll bet this young detective got her marching orders after seeing Silence of the Lambs.
Thank you for that!
On the flipside, then there are the scuzzy ones like the lead investigator on this case, who admitted to perjury on the stand today, and lying to the grand jury
Whatever.
Like he couldnt have showered and changed clothes !!!!
Exactly. And he probably did that at his mother's place.
But " ...the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray."
I think the state has met the bar for determining beyond "reasonable doubt." Murdaugh was there.
Excellent comments and analysis!
I was referring to the insights posted by user user-vy9ky9xz4l.
I knew she would COME to the kennel....Not GO the the kennel. He stated he didn't go the kennel at first and left the house. Strange wording.
She goes down to let the dogs run. So she runs the dogs that are hunting dogs at dusky dark when snakes crawl
I always think about how these attorneys should have interns reading social media posts and comments for little things like THIS comment!!! ^^^^^
@@Rnnurse2023 Hhmmm..is that so? Seems like a very odd time of day to let the dogs run free. Just saying cos my granpa was a hunter, had 12 dogs at most, and he always let them run early in the morning first thing before breakfast.
Very strange wording indeed. When you saying somebody is coming (versus going) it implies that they are joining you. Nice catch!!
Interesting observation.
South Carolinans should be mortified from the level of corruption in that state.
