tea. we got a killer album with no filler that contained several worldwide hits with fantastic videos, excellent performances, a full club remix album and a dynamite concert special. she ruled pop from january to december.
Best thing about Tiny Desk Concerts: being wowed by pop artists who can *actually sing*. Dua Lipa deserves all the success and acclaim, and her BAND is top notch.
There's hardly any one hit wonders anymore with how the music world works these days as far as they completelystop making music after 1 album, most all keep making music that at least some people like. It just doesn't get mainstream recognition. For example I had no idea until like last year or so that Carly Rae jepsen is still making music, yeah the Call me Maybe Girl. And her album Emotion is pretty good, especially the title track. But Dua Lipa is coming up even more in popularity so yeah she's definitely not a one hit wonder even as far as actual mainstream hits go. But like i said, no one is, really.
Is anyone else watching this video like I am? I've watched it over and over again, and each time I find it even better. To anyone who comes across this, may your day be filled with light and positivity. The world might be intense, but you are always supported and loved. 🌼💫

Highly recommended it. She did a livestream last week of studio 2054 and it honestly felt like a concert. She served VOCALS, chero, confidence, outfits, stage sets, special guests. EVERYTHING. Future Nostalgia Tour next year is going to be incredible

Everything about this is so pro. She’s great, of course, but those background singers and musicians all showed up to do work and nailed it. Instant classic.
They are called "session players" and they are the hired guns of the music industry. Incredibly talented, rifle bolt precision. That's all Dua ever uses.
The fact that she chose to do it at a studio saddens me. It’s a (home) concert. I thought a stripped back and vulnerable feel is the goal?? Maybe I’m missing something
These 70s vibes are everything, I am SO in love. Dua Lipa is the future, her voice is amazing as well as her stage presence. Literally a queen. So many good vibes!!
Right? I just listen to Love Again with my mouth open trying to hear every little nuance. Perfectly complementing Dua's voice and elevating the the whole sound to amazing. More of this!!!
100% agree! Was fortunate enough to attend her US and Europe Tour in 2017. 24Feb17 in Chicago and 09MAR17 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Only around 500 ppl for each show. She could stand in one spot for the whole show and it wouldn't matter b/c that incredible voice of hers outshines everything else!
I'm always finding myself back here watching this - a real treat and show of clean, great voices and musical talent. Just watched Dua's 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper and truly struck by how excellent a singer and performer she really is. Thank you Dua for going for it!!!! Love your music and thank you for sharing your talent with the world!❤❤❤
I confess that I don't usually listen to Dua Lipa, but this TD is too good! Amazing! The colors, the scenery, the melody, clothes, people, voices, everything is perfect!
I am not going to lie, I did not really invest a lot of time looking into Dua Lipa's songs because I thought she just was another girl with only mainstream catchy pop songs that every popular pop singer has. BUT, when "Pretty Please" came on...... PHEWWWWWWW. That song.. I could NOT stop grooving. It is so soulful. I cannot stop replaying that song.
This is why I love tiny desk. They introduce you to artists, ARTISTS with the ability to perform in such a intimate setting. I'd never would've listen to Anderson Paak or Mac Miller but their tiny desks performances really changed my mind.
Not enough is talked about how the bassist is probably the best in the industry right now. If you listen to all of her new tracks he is front and center on every grove. Its insane his writing ability.
@@tonykent4216 This makes SO much sense now! My wife and I were listening to her yesterday on the radio and I mentioned how I'm normally not a huge Pop music fan, but something about the music and groove made me love it. No disrespect to Dua, she is an awesome singer and performer, but you're right. That bass is NAAAAASSSSTTTTYYY.
Heard any Billie Eilish? I'd recommend "When we all fall asleep, where do we go?" era. Wet Leg are really good too, but maybe not your thing. Happy listening!
These are simply Soul-ish arrangements of her music, which is why I think it's so good stripped down like this, highlighting the melodies and vocals with effective but minimal instrumentation. Yeah, she does know how to put on a Pop performance, but she's pretty similar to Christina Aguilera (not as powerful / as much range), but she's got that vibe and talent. I think she should just go work on an entire Soul album and reach a entirely new and wider audience. She's clearly capable of delivering in that space.
Dua Lipa is so flawless. She's killing the industry effortlessly ! She was born to do this and I'm so glad she's not a problematic singer. Her image is music and music only! No drama. Hats off. Hands down amazing!

tea. we got a killer album with no filler that contained several worldwide hits with fantastic videos, excellent performances, a full club remix album and a dynamite concert special. she ruled pop from january to december.
Best thing about Tiny Desk Concerts: being wowed by pop artists who can *actually sing*.
Dua Lipa deserves all the success and acclaim, and her BAND is top notch.
She's having fun and it resonates. I recently became a fan realizing she's not just a one hit wonder pop star....I dig it....
she is also a lyricist:-)
There's hardly any one hit wonders anymore with how the music world works these days as far as they completelystop making music after 1 album, most all keep making music that at least some people like. It just doesn't get mainstream recognition. For example I had no idea until like last year or so that Carly Rae jepsen is still making music, yeah the Call me Maybe Girl. And her album Emotion is pretty good, especially the title track.
But Dua Lipa is coming up even more in popularity so yeah she's definitely not a one hit wonder even as far as actual mainstream hits go. But like i said, no one is, really.
Carly Rae actually has had some recent mainstream hits and her music is still solid
Definitely not a one hit wonder lol, she has more hits than anyone current, she's a hit making machine, she's amazing
Absolutely!! I actually fell in love from her first single some years ago. She’s so lovely.
Is anyone else watching this video like I am? I've watched it over and over again, and each time I find it even better. To anyone who comes across this, may your day be filled with light and positivity. The world might be intense, but you are always supported and loved. 🌼💫
And I wish the same for you 💙
Same here

These backup singers should get an episode of their own, they take it to another level!
absolutely Yes!
Exactly! It feels a lot more plain without them. They definitely took it to another level!
Exactly!

I really liked a couple of her singles before, but this is making me want to see her in person
Highly recommended it. She did a livestream last week of studio 2054 and it honestly felt like a concert. She served VOCALS, chero, confidence, outfits, stage sets, special guests. EVERYTHING. Future Nostalgia Tour next year is going to be incredible
This girl is good
@@multixfandomedits7241 I loved Studio 2054! I’m so excited for her real concerts later! I ordered a t-shirt but it didn’t come in time for the stream so I’ll wear it later 😜
I saw her for her self titled tour and she was amazing, she has bettered miles since then and I can’t wait to see her for Future nostalgia!!!!🚀🚀🚀
💯
Its always great, when I'm as old as am (69) and discover new great talent. Absolutely love how the voices, harmony is #1 yet the instrumental is so precise filling to the heart of the song
I’m still not over this performance, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this.
Me too! I think I've been watching this video at least 3x a week since it was released
@@beniciovieira4139 it’s the love again performance for me, the level of disrespect I feel for not getting a single for it is unreal.

everything about this is awesome. the instrumentals, the backup vocals, the everything!!!

I love how her back up singers are jamming out as well. Its all so asthetically pleasing!
Yep! Can tell everyone is feeling it. And I like that they are a wide range of ages. Everyone likes good music.
The layering and quality of the voices is just...
Mind blowing.
Her tone is just sooooo deep and rich. so when she sings live, I'm always in love. and here she sounds so freakin good.
So much nicer live and not over- produced. Everybody's layin' it down perfectly.
100%
Backing vocals in this are SOMETHING ELSE
Thanks Nicole ❤️
Right? I just listen to Love Again with my mouth open trying to hear every little nuance. Perfectly complementing Dua's voice and elevating the the whole sound to amazing. More of this!!!
they were so spot on... amazing!
@@mattmaijah you did great Matt! w(°o°)w
So true. Their voices are blended so well and complement her just right. That takes a lot of practice.
The thing I love most about this set is how everyone in it legitimately looks like they're having a fantastic, groovy time

THIS is where Dua thrives as an artist! Not getting caught up in technical choreography, just vibing out and sounding amazing!
I agree. Dua looks carefree and really happy here, and it really shows at how her vocals sounds like she's smiling all the time while singing.
100% agree!
Was fortunate enough to attend her US and Europe Tour in 2017.
24Feb17 in Chicago and 09MAR17 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Only around 500 ppl for each show.
She could stand in one spot for the whole show and it
wouldn't matter b/c that incredible voice of hers outshines everything else!
She got much better at performing while dancing though
YES YES YES
I like her better by only being herself, but I ain’t gonna lie, I also love dancing dua
Whoever was in charge of arranging the harmonies deserves a raise
They are not harmonizing. The person should be fired.
@@Getlosttt So what are they doing?
I'm always finding myself back here watching this - a real treat and show of clean, great voices and musical talent. Just watched Dua's 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper and truly struck by how excellent a singer and performer she really is. Thank you Dua for going for it!!!! Love your music and thank you for sharing your talent with the world!❤❤❤
she's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment!
dua lipa who? we stan dula peep🤣
lol...
DUA LIPA makes it look so easy. She's a natural. Very impressive.
If consistently raising the bar was a person, It would be this extremely talented woman. Never ever misses. 👏🏾
I wasn't a Dua Lipa fan before today
1000% just strength to strength
I confess that I don't usually listen to Dua Lipa, but this TD is too good! Amazing! The colors, the scenery, the melody, clothes, people, voices, everything is perfect!
You can just tell everybody in the room knows they are playing good music. They are just enjoying themselves. I LOVEEE
I'm 80 years old & I love her music, I went to her concert at the O2 arena on May 2nd 2022, I was the oldest person there. Fantastic
soooGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
This made me so happy! All generations love her music! Glad you enjoyed the experience 🙌🏻
You are amazing! 🌟
I love that you went to her concert and were the oldest person there! Very cool!
I want to be like you..also I'd love to see her live too :)
I was the same scared she was a one hitter but I'm in love now ,her and her band 👌🏾😍
SAME
I did too, indeed.
Same here.I am obssesed with this song
3 años después sigo siendo adicto a este video.
Give that bassist and guitarist some credit. When there are no pads and keys to hide behind, they are still killing their parts.
The groove was TIGHT!
Not enough is talked about how the bassist is probably the best in the industry right now. If you listen to all of her new tracks he is front and center on every grove. Its insane his writing ability.
@@tonykent4216 right???? the best thing in that whole record is definitely the bass
definitely pros for sure
@@tonykent4216 This makes SO much sense now! My wife and I were listening to her yesterday on the radio and I mentioned how I'm normally not a huge Pop music fan, but something about the music and groove made me love it. No disrespect to Dua, she is an awesome singer and performer, but you're right. That bass is NAAAAASSSSTTTTYYY.
Those backing vocalists are unreal!!!!

It's really awesome to see how much she clearly loves performing. Fantastic set!!
This feels more like a record or a music video than a Tiny Desk concert. 10/10 though 😁
I've seen trees act more dramatic, has to be stiffest concert ever...sad
@@akaClancy You think? I'm just getting laidback groove. Enchanting, polished, gorgeous.
That's because most commercial artists aren't in touch with the live sessions. They won't usually experiment new sounds outside their recording.
@@akaClancy most artists literally just sit and sing idk what u want
@@user-rv7ge1tc4l you obviously dont feel how stiff this is, and its kinda sad. seems forced and commercial, not feeling the tiny desk vibe
I'm not usually into pop but Dua Lipa is so good, she's gorgeous, and those bass lines are fire
She's clearly capable of delivering in that space.
another good one isFlowers by Miley Cyrus
yeah, it is; Used To be Young too@@user-uk9er5vw4c
Same. For some reason she resonates with me. I enjoy her music.
Dua Lipa is so flawless. She's killing the industry effortlessly ! She was born to do this and I'm so glad she's not a problematic singer. Her image is music and music only! No drama. Hats off. Hands down amazing!
You sound like an industry plant promoting an industry plant.
@@AllN1TE lol thats great cause I'm not im just saying what I feel
this is supposed to be a "home" concert. played to a track. everything is coordinated and pre planned. even the bois in their pumas. nothing about this is effortless. boooring. but i love her music none the less lol. she has a great voice.
@@christiankuruvilla5621 the home concert looked amazing! Whoever designed it for Dua is an amazing designer! I'm saying Dua did this all herself with no help. I'm saying whoever works for her is amazing at what they do for her!! And she's not necessarily singing to a track here, its like she created an acoustic during here "home" concert! Now tell me who else does that? Everyone is auto tuning during these concerts! What a shame! But Dua is not that kind of artist
There is literally a section with controversies in her wikipedia page
