We Japanese celebrate all kinds of celebrations even if we are not Christian. We do Valentines day, halloween and Christmas along with our own festivals and celebrations through out the year! We Japanese work too much so any excuses for us to celebrate and have a blast, we take it! lol

(Diwali is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year.) Every time I see Sutan getting excited when her dad comes home I remember my little self getting excited whenever my dad comes home after work too. It's a sweet memory, but come to think of it I was rarely like that for my mom as a kid. Watching Moe-san with Sutan made me see the bigger picture now. My mom was always with me. Even if I didn't feel very excited at that time those were very precious moments that made me the adult that I am now.

That was so cute. I remember eating cake like this on vacation in Spain when I was a kid and it tasted so great. part of that was all the sun those strawberries got, it made them taste amazing. In the Netherlands we don't get them that good. I think even for imported ones they must pick them a bit unripe so they survive the trip which is unlike fully ripe ones from Spain.

Strawberry shortcake from Japan looks really good! I've heard if you order those cakes in Japan, you have to really order one quickly as they're sold out. For Christmas cake, either that strawberry shortcake or a Buche de Noel cake sounds like a good idea. I had a Buche de Noel cake last year from a local bakery and it was really good! Desserts always tastes better if you have friends and/or loved ones to share it with. My dad wasn't around much when I was a kid as he was working in another state, so watching Sutan go to greet Moto-san at the door was so sweet and reminded me of the way I always used to greet him during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Strawberry shortcake from Japan looks really good! I've heard if you order those cakes in Japan, you have to really order one quickly as they're sold out. For Christmas cake, either that strawberry shortcake or a Buche de Noel cake sounds like a good idea. I had a Buche de Noel cake last year from a local bakery and it was really good! Desserts always tastes better if you have friends and/or loved ones to share it with. My dad wasn't around much when I was a kid as he was working in another state, so watching Sutan go to greet Moto-san at the door was so sweet and reminded me of the way I always used to greet him during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
