The longest episode yet? Well worth watching. Love the hidden beach - that was so picturesque. Agree about the palace - didnt look great and the hassle going around looked a nightmare. Lisbon is a beautiful city indeed and the pastel de nata are v good indeed. You can buy those in London now though they arent as good as the ones in Lisbon. Looking forward to next week’s episode. Not even the longest but I had to cut a lot to not make it to long. The beach really was something else. It was magnificent. The palace was just way to busy. There was a lot of maintenance to be done. So not the best we’ve done so far. The natas are great! Thanks!
Wonderful vlog. You were very near to my home in this vlog. My Portuguese home is in Cacilhas, between the Cristo Rei Monument and the ferry terminal where you left the dogs.
We are heading up that way in a week or so, the Palace looked great but hate queues too so might give it a miss! You are very brave taking your van down the tracks you do, the places you stay at look stunning so definitely worth it, but we're always scared of damaging our van, which we've already done on a normal road this trip, never mind taking it somewhere remote 😂🙈
The forest surrounding the palace was beautiful so that’s worth it! I’m always happy Bram is driving on roads like that. It’s always a bit of a struggle. Not to much damage I hope? Have a great trip!
@@vangaze yes Bram seems confident on the road so that always helps and you find some amazing spots. Well we managed to smash our back light and bumper suddenly a couple of weeks ago 😬 All fixed now thankfully but was a big worry for a while! Enjoy the rest of Portugal! 😊
@@vangaze We are back in the UK now where we'll be having lots of mini adventures before a bigger one next year. Plenty to still see here though so looking forward to that! Enjoy the rest of your travels, will catch up on the recent ones
@@vangaze Here are some things I've enjoyed: walk through the medieval part of the city, then along the Cais da Ribeira and across the Dom Luis 1 Bridge to the Port cellars on the other side. Pick 1 or two and take the tours and tastings. :) The tiles of the Capela das Almas are really striking. There are beaches on either side of the Douro where it empties into the Atlantic, but I don't know which are best. A drive upstream along the Douro to the actual vineyards should be scenic as you leave the area. Traffic and parking will probably be challenging. Look forward to seeing how you like it.

I hope you get a chance to visit Porto and the Port Cellars. I love that city, but I imagine it will also be crowded.
