Prime Ronaldinho is better then anyone in the history of the sport IMO but he let himself get distracted with partys and living like a celebrity so he wasn't able to stay consistent like Messi and CR7 also dinho just made the sport look so entertaining and they way he did it always with that huge smile on his face he really made an entire generation fall in love with football

One of my favorite videos. To realize his majesty you have to know one thing. Barcelona and Real Madrid are hated enemies. So this Dude, scores twice in "El Classico"(derby of Barcelona v Real Madrid) at "Estadio Sandiago Bernabeu"(Real Madrid's home) exposing and humiliating their entire defence and receives a standing ovation from Real Madrid Fans. He was THE DUDE.
Ronaldinho was really the ShowMan of football. People didnt care about Barcelona, but they would pay only to watch this dude ball. I remember going in the enemy team's crowd just to be able to watch him play and not being able to cheer when he scored cuz they would whoop me. Those were some great times.

Ronaldinho would have easily been a top 3 player however his prime only lasted about 4 years while he was in Barcelona due to his typical Brazilian partying lifestyle 🫣🤷😂 As it is he is still top 6 for me ❤️ He retired in 2014.

He used this flashy and entertaining style to actually play football and it worked. Football with a smile, the way it should be. That is why he is loved and respected by all footballers. It was like watching magic, and he was Messi’s mentor for his first few years at Barcelona. He was 10 and assisted Messi’s first goal. Many see this as a passing of the torch bc Messi took over 10, and the rest is history.
I grew up watching and loving football, and me personally I think Ronaldinho was the greatest player to ever grace a football pitch. He could do what both Ronaldo and Messi could do on his day, such a one of a kind player.

He went by the name Ronaldo and not be confused with Cristiano Ronaldo. He was arguably even better than Ronaldinho, but he suffered three career ending injuries and still won a world cup after that. The injuries really affected his overall career however. In his prime, no one could touch him.

The most talented player I have seen in my lifetime, he is not as highly acclaimed as others as he didn't have the longest career and his off-pitch personality wasn't the most professional, he liked a good time. All that said, at his peak he was literally a magician with it.

Even so long after still fascinating what this man done on a pitch. Fact too he used to literally be snapping ankles like he was legit straight after he was partying the night before. I had the privilege of watching prime Ronaldinho in September 2004 at Camp Nou. The things he was doing during warm upset was unbelievable. And then he was doing the same things during the match. The play I will never forget is the dime he dropped on Samuel Eto's foot while Eto was running full speed

What makes Ronaldinho beloved throughout the world is his absolute love for the game and his love to entertain the fans. In that regard, he's a lot like Magic, with the same charisma and the same smile that lights up a room. The problem is that what makes him loved (his lack of intensity and love to have fun and entertaining) is what makes him less effective than the very top players ever, though he has as much talent as they do. But he is lazy and loved to party! But when he wants to be on, he could take over games by himself, and his talent was so immense that despite all his negatives, when he was at his peak (3-4 years), he was considered the very best in the world at the time. There's a reason why he was on the cover of the FIFA soccer game for like 5 years in a row!

I'm from Barcelona, and I see Ronaldinho evolving soccer, he introduce a thing called: "Joga Bonito" that means enjoy playing, and is just what he did... Messi was right the next generation, they played together a few seasons, Messi's first goal was assisted by Ronaldinho.
