  • @mused89
    @mused89 2 ปีที่แล้ว +35

    You need to watch The Phenomenon, R9, the OG Ronaldo. Before the injuries he was literally unstoppable (think Messi and C. Ronaldo combined). Averaged about a goal a game in Italy (best defensive league in the world at the time) and then scored about 47 goals in 30 something games at Barcelona.
    Along with Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Kaka, Cafu, those Brazilian teams of the 90s/early 00s were stacked.
    For Barcelona, Messi was trained in the academy. All it cost them to get Messi was the price of hormone injections when he was a kid. But yeah, Barcelona have been a big club for a long time, and absolutely dominated European football around 2010 from both amazing players (many home grown) and a beautiful style of play. You literally couldn’t get the ball back once they got it.

    • @MrVvulf
      @MrVvulf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      In the history of football, there has never been another player anywhere close to Ronaldo R9 before his first injury at age 23. He should have won the Ballon D'or at age 19 (he lost by 1 vote). He did win it at age 20. Think about that... The best player on the planet as a teenager. Messi, CR7, Neymar...none of them were even in his league at a similar age (check the scoring record, he scored twice as many goals as CR7 at the same age).
      If he had stayed injury free, the best player of all time wouldn't even be a discussion.

    when u guys said he must be on a serious diet and be a real professional who lives for his sport i laughed so hard i allmost fell out of my chair. ronaldinho was famous for partying all night long with lots of alcohol, drugs and women and doing that multiple times a week. but even though he skipped practice lots of times, sometimes didnt show cause he was hungover or just kicked a few balls in the corner of the goal and went home again. cause of his lifestyle i can say this with 100% certainty, ronaldinho was, is and will ever be the single greatest football player to grace ur mortal beings with his existence for the 3 short years he exelled at barcelona.......imagine what could have been if he actually took care of himself. and yes messi and ronaldinho were on the same team, the last scene from this vid is ronaldinho giving the assist as messi scores his first goal for barca and became a mentor to messi in his growing years and well the rest is history.

    There is a huge link between ron and Messi, Messi was in the academy and then on the team with Messi and is quoted as saying how much he learnt from Ron and you can see it in the way Messi takes on and drives past players, just with less flare

    People talk about Ronaldo and Messi are GOATs.
    Ronaldinho for me was the GOAT, no one I've watched before or after affected me in the same way as this GoD of football, at times tears of joy in what I witnessed.
    Football isn't about numbers, it's about how it makes you feel and I got the most feels from Ronni.

    Ronaldinho is the best player to ever have the ball at his feet. NOBODY could do what he did with such ease. He is pure talent. He would play hungover. That's how good he was. Iv watched and played the game my entire life. Very few players come close to what he could do on the field. R9 and Maradona are the only ones who come close in terms of ability with the ball.

    At 6:40 if you don't know about Football you won't know how insane that crowd reaction is. That's Real Madrid's (Barcelona's biggest rivals) fans giving him a standing ovation because he played so great that match. They've never done that for any player since and to my knowledge I don't know of one before.

      Yeah he was arrested with a fake passport. Details: He paid his full bail in Real (Brasil cash) and it was Converted to dollar, latter when the case finished and they had to Reimburse him because his bail was bigger than his fine he was paid in dollar and he made money, because of Real depreciation. Oh he also won a jail championship there.

    The sad thing is that as amazing as Ronaldinho was (and he was amazing), he really was only at that level for about 6 or 7 years, and by the time he was 32 he was already pretty much finished as a top player. It's crazy to say, but I don't think his career as a whole lived up to what it could have been.

In Spain he played for the biggest Real Madrid rivals FC Barcelona. He also played for my club AC Milan too! He is in my top 5 favorite football players of all time! Ronaldinho is currently 42 years old and he retired in 2015 from football. He spent 5 months in a Paraguayan prison back in 2020 and is bankrupt today, very sad!

    Why that final clip was there (you probably have been enlightened already): That was Ronaldinho giving Messi the assist for his first ever goal for Barcelona. In the short time they played together he was a big rolemodel for the young Leo Messi (as I understand). And that goal kicked of this legendary career we all know now.
