He was the most complete footballer I have seen in my 58 years ,speed, strength, two footed ,good in the air ,could dribble for days, more tricks than Copperfield but best of all he always played with a huge smile on his face. And he was loved by all fans,I doubt we will see his like again, football just isn't played this way any more.

Those 1 1/2 years where he was at his very best, he was close to a perfect combination of CR7 and Messi put into one single player, he had close to CR7's physicality and Messi's technique and awareness.
Imagine if he hadn't loved partying so much, having a decade with him at his prime, instead of such a short amount of time mixed with a few glimpses after.

He's th guy that even being prepared is not enough to stop him.
Te guys that you see getting toyed by him are the best on their jobs and even like this he was able to make them look like amateurs.
I'm Brazilian I saw with my own eyes Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Romario, Bebeto, Adriano, Kaká, Alex, Robinho.
Ronaldinho is the one who made Football look like magic.
He went back to Brazil and played against Neymar in one of the craziet match I ever watched.
A lot of people didn't even finished to watch the game because Neymar was destroying us... But Ronaldinho took over the show.
Santos x Flamengo 2011, Neymar vs Ronaldinho. Battle of two different generations of Joga Bonito.
You need to react to it.

Ronaldinho was one of the most humble players ever , he just loved football so much he couldnt stop himself from happily dancing after goals , he played with flair not because it was efficient to beat defenders but because he loved that style of purity in the game , there are a lot of players who love football but very few showed it like him , even though he had about 6 years as a top player due to other problems he is universaly adored , he was also the mentor of Lionel Messi at Barcelona even stepping down so that Messi could take his place , just a man who wanted to live his life happily. Interviewer - " How do you want people to remember you" - Ronaldinho - " i want people to just remember me as the man who had fun while playing football "

Ronaldinho was a player that kept the fans on the edge of their seats as he was unpredictable. But the thing that makes him stand out over other great players for me is that he played with a smile on his face.
I don't think being beaten by him on the pitch is embarrassing to any player as he done it to so many players ar different levels. You feared watching him playing against your team but loved watching him do what he does.

A lot of people have the Brazilian team as a favorite because of this particular style of playing. Since Pelé's generation, almost every Brazilian kid learns how to do this during playtime. That's why they have so many great football players.
Curiosity: Once, a reporter asked Freddie Mercury (who was born in Zanzibar) to reveal his favorite football team (since his actual country didn't have one at the time). He said two: England, because he lived there, and Brazil. When asked why, he answered: "Because they tranformed it into art, darling!". THAT's what he was talking about.

He is the best of all time. He had a few peak years, but no one did like his 2-3 years. He remains the most skilled person with the ball who ever lived, but he has always prioritized other things besides football. He made insane passes, played insanely, scored impossible goals even though he was almost never looking for the goal but rather the pass... and if you see a person lying on the ground behind a free kick wall, it's his fault.

It's pretty unique to futbol to have a player like Ronaldinho who is so focused on the artistry of the sport and cared almost too little about anything else..
The closest I can compare to is a hard hitter in football, now imagine all the best hitters: ray lewis, sean Taylor, Dawkins etc and now imagine there was one player who completely seperated himself from everyone else by a noticable distance.. that's gaucho.
Like def not the best player of all time, most complete player, or winningest... BUT what he did well was so special that if you so prime Ronaldinho you just know..

Not just what he did but who he did it to. Real Madrid all the time, and champions league matches against the best defenders in the world. Some people have tricks but his junk worked at the highest level. Making Maldini and Roberto Carlos look bad. Poor punks on mid table teams in Spain didn’t plan for him, they just tried to cover everyone ELSE and limit the bleeding.

The coldest moment of Ronaldinho’s career was actually when he was WAY past his prime…. They were asking him who the GOAT was and he told them that’s he’s on his team right now…. Turned out to be 16 yr old Lionel Messi before he suited up for Barcelona…. When you know, you know! 🤯

pele is technically the goat for winning 3 world cups. however, to me, messi is the greatest footballer of all time to this date.
the Brazil phenom pele was never given the Ballon d’Or because of a rule preventing non-European players from winning it until that policy was overturned in 1995.
But France Football revealed that the three-time World Cup winner would have seven titles to his name had he been eligible, which would have made him the record holder until Messi scooped his seventh in 2021.
The years the Ballon d'Or publication says Pele would have won are: 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1963, 1964 and 1970.
