Please get them in clear. I currently have a clear catch all. And treads are starting to go. Please stock them. Can't find them anymore.

are there any large scale hair traps? Something you could install in a shower cutting room and catch all hair from cutting the hair? That way you didn't have to clean with a broom;) I'm lazy

I recommend the use of a hand pump, to draw dirty water out of the hair trap, first. Place intake tube straight down the drain, from the lavatory. Pump water into bucket. Spillage below hair trap will thus be minimized. Harbor Freight sells such hand pumps. www.harborfreight.com/multi-use-transfer-pump-61364.html

Obviously, my method excludes allowance of mechanically-linked stopper, as commonly provided with faucets. My implementation is for residential bathrooms, and I cannot speak for beauty parlor sinks. I employ a stainless steel mesh (sometimes two, in series) in the lavatory drain opening, as a first snare for hair, lint, and any other substance that can be caught before it enters the drain piping.
My recommendation (for pumping out hair trap) therefore is eminently compatible with the mesh snare, which presents no obstacle for tube insertion into drain. The mesh is typically cleaned daily.
The below-sink trap requires, perhaps, monthly cleaning.

How do you fix a leak on one of these, please?

So, If I understand correctly, if your using a hair trap you do not need a P-trap in the system. Correct?

Correct. The 1701 replaces the actual trap section of a "P" or "S" trap.

will shampoo foam cause any issue with this trap? eg: back flow

The 1701 simply takes the place of a regular sink trap. If the drains are working normally and the trap kept clean, you should see no difference in performance.
We are not aware of any issues involving foam; any standard salon shampoo should not present any problems.

What can I do if the cap was over-tightened???

    • @Collinsmfgco

You might need to remove the entire hair trap. Have someone help hold the trap while you keep trying to loosen the cap. (it will be easier on a table).Too much torque (force) on the drain might cause damage to the drain piping.
For future, apply a little Vaseline to the o-ring and "snug" the cap only until it does not leak.
