I'll just use a bluetooth keyboard I have. The AI button isa sales gimmick. A control key would do the same thing with one more click.
Samsung isn't making enough noise about the anti-reflective screen. It's such a game changer on the S24Ultra, because it significantly improves the viewing experience regardless of the lighting setting. It was the feature that made me upgrade from the S22Ultra, because after all, the screen is the primary interface through which you interact with your phone. Good that it's making its way onto tablets because the large screen will benefit greatly from it.
The coating means a smudgy, greasy screen, and I am not sold on it, especially since I use my Ultra 100% at home. It would not be a positive for me and I see no reason to upgrade from the Tab S8 Ultra.
@@ShaneSymonds I was hoping that the tech had improved and we could buy a tempered glass anti-smudge protector that maintains the antiglare coating. But I have not seen any yet; it's just the awful rubber protector that is even worse for smudging.

Most mediocre update yet for the Samsung ultra tablet series. At least from S8 to S9 upped the screen specs somewhat and gave new snapdragon processor.. ... This one just has new screen coating?? Just get a antiglare screen protector for the S9U and skip this...
You know that the new features are underwhelming when the anti-reflective coating is supposed to be THE reason to get it 😂 And then you remember that they switched to MTK (which is a terrible choice for emulation) and completely ignored the base S9. Apple probably shook them to the core when they dropped that M4 on the iPad Pro when this is all they can come up with in response.

Mine, too. But I am really tempted. I work in the garden 6 months a year and use S8 Ultra also as the second screen. Since I switched to Galaxy Book4 Edge which also has this anti-reflective screen, I see the difference literally every second.

Up to 2TB of SD card storage.. That's kinda basic since LG released their G3 smartphone.. Getting the cards however...😂 That's why they spec it lower than it actually can handle.. Kikda dumb. But it is in fact up to 2TB..
The hand writing straigthetning is definently not kew and has nothing at all tondo with AI🙈 Damn they, really re-released some older features and suddenly called it AI while in facts it's not AI at all. And some of the actual AI features are ok and a bit fun but absolutely nothing makes AI alone worth updating a older device that won't get it. AI alone is never worth that.

I too am waiting for a detailed technical review, with numerical measurements. Anecdotal evidence is the S10 is faster than the S9, but we'll never know if a Qualcom Gen 4 would have been faster still.
For me this tablet seems like a downgrade to the Samsung S9 ultra ? I definitely won't be upgrading...Mine is cellular as well think they have dropped that as well

Mainly high brightness all day and some use in the evening around 25%. 120hz refresh rate. You don’t have to jack up the brightness to full as much with the anti reflective display which is nice

Wierd is in the eye of the wierdee. I prefer the H/W ratio as the best compromise for viewing media and having four apps on screen. The S10U size is great for carrying your TV show or movie with you as you move around the house. Adjustable stands are light and cheap.

It is not Tandem OLED. This is one of Samsung's cheaper OLED panels. Samsung Displays cannot make 13-inch Tandem OLEDs, but LG makes all iPad Pro Tandem OLEDs for Apple.

Only mac pro oled screen will b manufactured by lg since it's very less in quantity.

It is much cheaper than the upcoming SD8G4, which would have been a great upgrade. Samsung released this early so they could get influencers to avoid comparing this older Dimensity with the latest and greatest. As you imply, a $1200 device without the best chip is Samsung cost-cutting at its worst, bearing in mind Apple released the M4 early for the iPad Pros to give their fans much-improved chips. Sadly, most reviews are from Samsung-affiliated channels and will ignore this.
@ItsBrown__ it's benchmarking higher than the S9 Ultra if that means anything to you. Personally I just use them and see how they feel. when navigating around it feels just as snappy as the S9 doing the same things on each.
@@ShaneSymonds in my opinion (and a lot of people out there), mediatek has less durability than snapdragon. So because it's new so you can't feel the difference. Wait for 2-3 years you will see that snapdragon outperform the mediatek (and exynos).

I realized I’ve seen my reflection on the S8/9 Ultra nearly every time I used them. Completely gone now on the S10 Ultra. Very impressed

@@andyH_England I can confirm it's pretty smudgy and fingerprints are more prominent. Not noticeable when the screen is on though so not a huge deal.

Shrink it down to 8.7 and 11 inch sizes, without losing ANY of the features, and Samsung will sell those like hotcakes.

The problem with this tablet is that it is wifi only. That is a problem for people that want to say use it for a gps in their car with no wifi.
Yeah once again in US this year the 5G is reserved for the S10+. Samsung rep told me at an event that only 1 model is chosen to get 5G support.

There are some little things like that which make it not feel worthy of the "Ultra" naming unfortunately, like the haptics also being supbar.
The fingerprint sensor on my S9+ works fine. You also have facial recognition and 9-dot pattern.

This tablet is performing identically to the S9 Ultra in my initial use. I’m not an SoC expert but it feels like a fine change

It is much cheaper than the upcoming SD8G4, which would have been a great upgrade. Samsung released this early so they could get influencers to avoid comparing this older Dimensity with the latest and greatest. As you imply, a $1200 device without the best chip is Samsung cost-cutting at its worst, bearing in mind Apple released the M4 early for the iPad Pros to give their fans much-improved chips. Sadly, most reviews are from Samsung-affiliated channels and will ignore this.
@@ShaneSymonds Try playing a game or doing video editing with the mediatek. The issue with those chips isn't the CPU it's the GPU.
mediatek proc is a deal breaker!! do not buy this crap! I hope they have Snapdragon version for this tablet.
Do your own Qualcom stock? I am only interested in perfirmance, which is better than the S9

Runs exactly the same as S9 ultra in average use initially so I’m perfectly content with the change. I’d be curious to hear how it ruins this tablet

@ItsBrown__ it's benchmarking higher than the S9 Ultra if that means anything to you. Personally I just use them and see how they feel. when navigating around it feels just as snappy as the S9 doing the same things on each.
@@ShaneSymonds in my opinion (and a lot of people out there), mediatek has less durability than snapdragon. So because it's new so you can't feel the difference. Wait for 2-3 years you will see that snapdragon outperform the mediatek (and exynos).
