For those who don’t know what dr nye is taking about when he talks about the Wyoming, basically the Wyoming was the largest wooden ship ever made, it was built in 1909, it built for transporting cargo, the problems it faced was its hull leaked due to twisting, the reason why it twisted was because of its size, you see once a ship gets to a certain size it(not sure how big) it goes through the waves opposed to over the waves, this would cause stress to the middle of the ship and if it wasn’t strong enough it would twist at the centre, the maximum size of a practical wooden ship is 100m otherwise the ship would twist, the Wyoming would only be used in very certain conditions so it wouldn’t twist and sink but it was caught in a storm and sank with everyone on board getting killed and going 75 feet under the sea

They were created complex and adapted certain traits from their environments, diets, etc. Evolution is saying that things evolved from less complex organisms. Adaptation is the change due to an environment and does not change the actual dna of the organism.

Even humans were vegetarian back then. It was after the flood that God gave Noah and his family permission to eat animals. The thing is that to many people it’s just “convenient” how everything happened. God gave Noah instructions on how to build the ark. God can do anything. Is it a very cheap answer to everything? Joe K I hadn’t seen it that way, and it is a reasonable answer. However, it wouldn’t make sense for God to create mankind that way. There are some things that God and humans have in common. His Love and justice. That is shown in how we express our love and even empathy towards other people and how we grasp the concept of fairness and unfairness at such a young age. A Bible verse that backs this up is Genesis 1:26 “...God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness,...” this also explains why we feel good whenever we accomplish something. Every time God created something he felt accomplished. Another beautiful Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has even put eternity in their heart; yet mankind will never find out the work that the true God has made from start to finish.” This verse explains why we don’t want to die and why there has been a search for the “elixir of life.” If God created evolution, it would contradict Genesis 1:26. And we wouldn’t understand why we have the desire to live forever.

Noah's Ark was gigantic. Termites are tiny. They would've been eating the ship's wood for hundreds of years. Besides, all the animals could've been hibernating as a result of the changed atmospheric pressure and oxygen proportion.

The way that all the animals couldve remained on a 500 ft ship is if they were mostly juvenile, this makes feeding them easier and they would get along inthe tight spaces for the most part.
1. Using the word "couldve" means you are guessing. 2. The Bible said a male and its mate, juveniles do not have mates. Juvenile animals require more attention, ask any zoo keeper. It would have been harder keeping them fed and looked after.

You'd have difficulty with some but it would be far better than all of them being adults.

David you just made claims under no evidence you could prove. And saying there was an ice bridge connecting australia to mainland disappearing is equivalent to the Bering Land Bridge and that saying that that could exist but not this hypothetical land bridge between Australia and Asia is hypocritical is an incredible leap in logic - there is _no_ evidence that there was ever a land bridge there. That’s the difference between Australia and the Bering Land Bridge. And just saying that there was no fossil evidence is just kind of wild, if there were four thousand years of kangaroo pilgrimage to Australia there would absolutely have to be some sort of evidence of that. Except there are twice as many documentations and studies and videos and pictures and evidence and so on that lean more towards the ark existing than not. This is only one video of someone's opinion. What about the hundreds of videos and bodies of evidence that aren't based on opinion or theory but rather evidence and scientific proof that the ark existed. Just do a bit more digging and you will see that there is far more information showing that the ark was much more likely to exist than not. And yes, this is coming from scientists. Many have been able to prove it's highly likely that the arc was real and even more scientific and geographical evidence that the arc has already been found many, many years ago. I think the only good interpretation of Noah's arc that I heard was that it was not every animal and it was not the entire world flooded. It's just what people at the time perceived as the whole world and all the animals. I don't really believe that but I think it's a fair thing to say.
If it was not every animal, then the time given for when the story occurred to now wouldn’t have been long enough for all the species we have now to evolve. However, a smaller scale floods did happen, which is likely how the original writers came up with the idea. However, this would contradict God’s plan in the Bible. Noah’s Ark is one of the most plot-hole laden stories in the Bible, and that’s REALLY saying something.

There's evidence of Noah's flood all around the world. The dinosaurs died because of this catastrophic flood and the fossil record and the earth's geology proves this. Evolution has no observable evidence and the big bang is scientifically impossible because nothing can't create everything.

It wasn't an ark, it was an arc reactor like the one that Tony Stark made in a cave. Noah used it to power up something big, but the word "reactor" was too blurry to see in the book.
Why? God made the animals come to the ark (Genesis 7:9), is it too much more to believe that he prevented them from eating each other while on it? Just as there are videos where scientists deny the ark existed, there are twice as many videos that prove the arc was indeed built, could not be capsized in the waters, and was already found on Mount Sinai in Turkey many years ago. People all over the world have done videos of visiting the ark and took pictures and share evidence of finding nails, animal fur, petrified animal dung, and petrified wood consistent with the wood that God told Noah to use in the bible. So many things wrong with this story. A family building a boat that big would take so long just to get the wood yet alone build the boat. Round up 2 of every animal which also could take a few lifetimes. What about dogs. Like 2 of every dog breed? That alone is like 800 dogs. Then the whole world flooding would be hard to believe bc the water would need to rise so much which it isn’t like we got unlimited water to keep filling the ocean. Then my biggest concern is the amount of food for every thing would need. Which would bring like 4 or 5 of those boats.

Ararat would be physically impossible. The water supposedly took 5 months to 'subside'. HOW? It's not like the Middle East is a water basin. For those who don’t know what dr nye is taking about when he talks about the Wyoming, basically the Wyoming was the largest wooden ship ever made, it was built in 1909, it built for transporting cargo, the problems it faced was its hull leaked due to twisting, the reason why it twisted was because of its size, you see once a ship gets to a certain size it(not sure how big) it goes through the waves opposed to over the waves, this would cause stress to the middle of the ship and if it wasn’t strong enough it would twist at the centre, the maximum size of a practical wooden ship is 100m otherwise the ship would twist, the Wyoming would only be used in very certain conditions so it wouldn’t twist and sink but it was caught in a storm and sank with everyone on board getting killed and going 75 feet under the sea

How long did they take to make the wyoming? Was time spent on every timber? David you just made claims under no evidence you could prove. And saying there was an ice bridge connecting australia to mainland disappearing is equivalent to the Bering Land Bridge and that saying that that could exist but not this hypothetical land bridge between Australia and Asia is hypocritical is an incredible leap in logic - there is _no_ evidence that there was ever a land bridge there. That’s the difference between Australia and the Bering Land Bridge. And just saying that there was no fossil evidence is just kind of wild, if there were four thousand years of kangaroo pilgrimage to Australia there would absolutely have to be some sort of evidence of that. You see that everywhere of animals much much older than this 4000 year old Kangaroo you’re saying existed. Just saying that there wasn’t doesn’t mean there wasn’t. If they did they _had_ to, it’s common logic and some incredible coincidence for them not to, and you can’t depend on incredible coincidences in the real world. If God decided there weren’t going to be fossils, that’s kind of a bizarre thing. Why would he actively hide evidence of his doing and then give us plenty of evidence of things that contradict, or at the very least explain things that leave him out of the equation. Because God works in mysterious ways? A god who just wants us to love him would actively try and work against giving us reason to believe in him? What, is he a toxic boyfriend who’s jealous of our ex and tries to set us up to cheat on him and then gets mad when we do? That doesn’t seem very smart for an omniscient, omnipotent god.
Not to mention that tar thing doesn’t solve the problem of the boat bending and twisting like Bill mentioned. That would need to be a lot of tar to keep it from snapping and breaking open, a lot that I would imagine wouldn’t leave a lot of space for the animals (and dinosaurs, according to Ham) and definitely would hurt it’s chance at buoyancy.

If no argument can sway you, then you're basically admitting to believing in the absurd. I could talk about a great spaghetti monster in the sky, and you'd have to accept the possibility to not be hypocritical.
I just think that people don't like being presented with ideas that contradict what they really want to believe to be true. And to such people I would say, would you not prefer truth to belief? That's ultimately what it comes down to. When presented with the blue pill or the red pill, which would you take? Sometimes truth is not the easiest pill to swallow.
Except there are twice as many documentations and studies and videos and pictures and evidence and so on that lean more towards the ark existing than not. This is only one video of someone's opinion. What about the hundreds of videos and bodies of evidence that aren't based on opinion or theory but rather evidence and scientific proof that the ark existed. Just do a bit more digging and you will see that there is far more information showing that the ark was much more likely to exist than not. And yes, this is coming from scientists. Many have been able to prove it's highly likely that the arc was real and even more scientific and geographical evidence that the arc has already been found many, many years ago. All it takes is a quick search to unearth the other side of this scientific evidence.

Having so called "scientists" speculate about where the ark might be and finding pieces of petrified wood on the ground at such places doesn't count to me as proof anymore than finding 100 healthy people who claim to smoke marijuana every day as evidence that marijuana is a healing drug, is a legit scientific study. People want to find the ark, and so they look to confirm their bias.

Fun fact - When Ken Ham built his so called replica Ark he used skilled laborers, cranes, and electric tools. He claimed he was building it to specifications found in the bible. After it was finished a heavy storm passed by and many parts of Kens Ark was flooded or had water damage, he then tried to claim from his insurance for the damage caused by the storm, the insurance company claimed it was "an act of god" (the weather damage) and Ken embarrassingly had to take them to court claiming god had nothing to do with the flooding.
He built it more or less roughly according to the specifications that Noah’s Ark was built to, but it is be no means an exact replica. The only thing that’s really the same is the appearance. So, that kinds of wrecks your argument.

I think the only good interpretation of Noah's arc that I heard was that it was not every animal and it was not the entire world flooded. It's just what people at the time perceived as the whole world and all the animals. I don't really believe that but I think it's a fair thing to say.

If it was not every animal, then the time given for when the story occurred to now wouldn’t have been long enough for all the species we have now to evolve.
However, a smaller scale floods did happen, which is likely how the original writers came up with the idea. However, this would contradict God’s plan in the Bible.
Noah’s Ark is one of the most plot-hole laden stories in the Bible, and that’s REALLY saying something.
As a Christian, not upset at his points. Those are all fair arguments against the ark story. This just encourages me to look deeper into the subject.

Why? God made the animals come to the ark (Genesis 7:9), is it too much more to believe that he prevented them from eating each other while on it? It wasn't until Noah got off the ark that God made meat-eating lawful (Genesis 9:3). Before that, all animals were vegetarian (Genesis 1:30). So come up with a better excuse to not believe God's word because that one just plain sucks!

Just as there are videos where scientists deny the ark existed, there are twice as many videos that prove the arc was indeed built, could not be capsized in the waters, and was already found on Mount Sinai in Turkey many years ago. People all over the world have done videos of visiting the ark and took pictures and share evidence of finding nails, animal fur, petrified animal dung, and petrified wood consistent with the wood that God told Noah to use in the bible. So many things wrong with this story. A family building a boat that big would take so long just to get the wood yet alone build the boat. Round up 2 of every animal which also could take a few lifetimes. What about dogs. Like 2 of every dog breed? That alone is like 800 dogs. Then the whole world flooding would be hard to believe bc the water would need to rise so much which it isn’t like we got unlimited water to keep filling the ocean. Then my biggest concern is the amount of food for every thing would need. Which would bring like 4 or 5 of those boats.

Ararat would be physically impossible. The water supposedly took 5 months to 'subside'. HOW? It's not like the Middle East is a water basin. Unless the flood were actually worldwide, it would be impossible for the water to rise so high, and equally impossible for it to remain at that height for 5 months.
Then again, the math is all wrong when one calculates how much water it would've taken to cover Mt. Ararat in the first place. Mt. Ararat is 16,854' tall, so (to make things easier on God here) let's say the water rose only 17,000 feet in the 40 days that it fell. That comes out to 425 feet per day, or 17 feet per hour!
To put this in perspective, the heaviest rainfall ever recorded was a one hour burst that dumped 12 inches...

Pretty incredible, but to get up to Biblical proportions, it would have been 17 times more volume for 960 times as long!
Rainfall that hard would be like getting sprayed with a hose. Mt. Ararat would've washed away and the Ark would have been completely flooded, as would anything short of a submarine. All the rooms would have filled up with water.
On land, most of the animals and people would probably suffocate standing up, even before they were submerged, by the sheer volume of water coming down. 40 days would be completely unnecessary, a single day would do the trick.
But of course, we're talking GOD so He's gonna do things on a grand scale, right?
