My tenant just knocked on my door 30 minutes ago with a fairly large leak... I watched this... went to true value and fixed it all in 30 minutes! Thanks for the help! 🙂
I bought a new kitchen faucet because the old one had a sprayer that was no good and I tried to repair the sprayer and couldn't. The sprayer connection to the faucet was very specific...the push to connect type and for some reason I could not buy the sprayer itself and trying to repair the sprayer itself was a nightmare. So I caved in and bought a whole new faucet with a new sprayer. After installing the new faucet, I had this exact problem. Hot water side would leak when fully closed. However, if you turned the hot water control slightly on, it would stop leaking. I did exactly what you did in this video but I pulled the cartridge completely out. I was worried that I wasn't going to get the cartridge back in but I got it and tightened the nut. It fixed the problem! That was all thanks to this very video. A little guidance from people in the know goes a very long way. Thank you a ton!
I learned 2 thing from this video How to fix the leak and clean hard water build up with vinager. Your voice is clear very easy to understand. Very good quality video
I fixed my sink with your help! Considering it's taken my super two+ months to get back to me about my stove hood fan sounding like a machine gun, I went to TH-cam instead of him for the sink problem. And TH-cam definitely provided, yours was the first recommended video, and I'm glad! I def wish I could give you more than a thumbs up, my man, you saved my sanity! Big thanks!
Thank you! Because of your site, I realized my faucet handles were screwed on too loosely so were inadvertently not being turned off all the way each time. It explained why sometimes it didn't leak & sometimes it did! Thanks again. Had just recently replaced both cartridges!
It worked! Holy smokes! I thought this was going to be a major overhaul and probably mean replacement of this faucet. I live in a house that was built in 1959 and I'm pretty sure the sink and the plumbing are original. If not they're still at least 40 or so years old. It went from a steady drip to now a drip every minute or so. I'm probably still going to need to replace it at some point, but this helps stem the serious waste of water (and my community is under water restrictions right now because of a major forest fire that has wrecked our watershed). Thank you so much for this video!
Had a leaky faucet now for about 2 weeks - got tired of it, and checked You Tube - clicked on your Channel, went back to the kitchen and did what you said. Result: no more dripping (and wasted water), situation restored. Thank you - I was using bottled water to wash my dishes... Thank you very much - things are now so much better because of you. Thanks!
You could have just turned the water off with the valve under the sink when you needed water not use bottled water to wash the dishes sorry but my father taught me many things when I was a young boy .
One in-between step to consider....when you pull the cartridge out there is an o ring on the bottom that may have been compressed too far, letting water pass. Cheaper than a whole cartridge but harder to get the correct size. But if you have an off brand or old faucet the store may not carry the cartridge for it. Just take the o ring or whole cartridge with for sizing.
Thank you!! Had a plumber in a while back and After that it’s been leaking-I’m thinking he didn’t tighten that enough!!! If that hadn’t happened here I would have never known that it could be just tightening something! Thank you so much
Thank you so much you saved me at a minimum $75 for the cheaper kind of faucet such as you showed on your website I had the same kind of faucet which my wife prefers to the single handle type and figured I'd have to buy a new one but thought I would try the TH-cam to see if there was a repair it was so easy my problem was I hadn't been able to spot that little allen wrench socket underneath the actual turning part of the faucet and so when I did and unscrewed it I had a slightly different type of set up than you have but it was still so easy a 1-minute fix as you had said and I had it all back together again in no time and not a single leak and I thank you from the bottom of my heart and after reading some of the mean comments that you got I just can't believe what this world is coming to the type of people we have in here and you are certainly amazing and and the like one of the commenters said you have them a clear voice a very good video and it was excellent thank you so much
The vinegar was a good idea. Tightening it didn’t work. I’m took apart the cartridge and let it soak in vinegar for 10 minutes. Put it back together and it works now. Thanks
Thank you so much, you were right, just tightening that outer nut stopped the leak! And I was glad I got away without having to replace the whole cartridge... that saved me from having to turn the water off underneath, which was great because some of those old valves under there sometimes leak after messing with them.
Thank you so much from a woman who likes plumbing, hooked up a commercial sink. Once hooked up there was a leaky faucet. Fixed it in no time thanks to you.
Thanks! I do this every couple of years but I always ck videos to refresh my memory. Last time I just installed a new faucet but it's leaking again after 4-5 yrs.
On my case I felt around inside ring where cartridge seats. There was a burr maybe water deposit, even felt like metal. I used a standard head screwdriver to smooth out around inside ring. Replaced everything, took off screen so whatever I knocked off would clean out. All worked, no leak. Good video
That hex shaped thingy (often called an Allen screw) will be lost down the drain unless you put the stoppers in both drains or cover them with dishrags. And it's best to turn off both water feeds.
While I was able to get the handle and lug nut off, I can't get the cartridge out. It's really stuck. And now I can't get the handle back on. But glad your vid seems to have helped others.
Hahaha! I got it right the first time. My husband couldn't believe it cause he always says, "those TH-camrs don't know shit"... fucker! Thanks for sharing.
Love this video, it's easy to follow. I was able to remove the screw with the Allen Wrench. My faucet looks the same as the one shown but the handle is not coming off. Any ideas?
I have the same faucet and was.wondering if.the aerator can be replaced? The water pressure is low and thinking replacement would help but I can't loosen it and wondering if.its welded on and can't be changed out.
If you're going to take out the cartridge, then yes, you have to turn off the water or it'll shoot up. But if you are ONLY going to take off the faucet HANDLE to tighten that nut only, no need to turn it off.
My bathroom sink has been dripping for ages. On my tap, there’s a cap with a Philips head screw to remove it, but it should be the same under that. Going to take care of it after work today!
Thank you I'll try to fix this myself , it looks pretty easy thank you for making this video ...from the guy Bette Midler rubbed her feet so close too..... ..
at 2:03 you talk about the tiny little piece that you shouldn’t lose. however this piece was missing when i tried to take the handle off, what is the tiny piece called?
Great video! My bathroom Faucet, the hot water handle to close is counterclockwise , while the cold water handle is clockwise to turn off.... Is this right?
My tenant just knocked on my door 30 minutes ago with a fairly large leak... I watched this... went to true value and fixed it all in 30 minutes! Thanks for the help! 🙂
Knock knock sir I have a leak again

You could always cast one in plastic and then use that to cast new rubber ones in the future yourself :)

Are you joking what was wrong with the faucet valve.? He did not mention that
Talk about saving money thanks homie
This helped me so much. No broken parts just needed to be tightened inside. Thank you!
Well I spoke too soon. It was leaking from under the handle and now it's leaking from the faucet... ugh
Great video!! I follow the steps to check my leaking faucet cartridge before going to the store, just tightened and leak is gone.
Perfect. Took me less than 10 minutes to fix my issue! Thank you!
The vinegar was a good idea. Tightening it didn’t work. I’m took apart the cartridge and let it soak in vinegar for 10 minutes. Put it back together and it works now. Thanks

This worked so well! I just wiped down the area under the know rhen reseated the o ring and it's not leaking anymore. Thanks!
Thank you so much, you were right, just tightening that outer nut stopped the leak!

He did fine. Helped me out perfectly. Thanks for the help. Fixed my tap with your advice.
That hex shaped thingy (often called an Allen screw) will be lost down the drain unless you put the stoppers in both drains or cover them with dishrags. And it's best to turn off both water feeds.
Can confirm. Just turned my kitchen into a slip n slide on accident😂
First rule of plumbing is to turn off the water before grabbing any tools haha
I always put a towel flat in the sinks just so I don't lose parts down the drain. The one minute fix will turn into 2 hours knowing me.
While I was able to get the handle and lug nut off, I can't get the cartridge out. It's really stuck. And now I can't get the handle back on. But glad your vid seems to have helped others.

Thank you your video helped 100% I was able to fix it today and saved alot of money 💰 🤗
You make it look easy.
Nice electric outlet placement. Genius!
yeah, our home has a few quirks :) Hasn't caused any issues yet
My 1984 build has the outlet there too for the food disposal
I suggest a wrench vice pliers as the brass fittings are sensitive
thanks for the insight!
Love this video, it's easy to follow. I was able to remove the screw with the Allen Wrench. My faucet looks the same as the one shown but the handle is not coming off. Any ideas?
Just took your advice and it worked like a charm!
just did it and it works!!! thank you!!!
Thanks bro. Saved me $100 and saved me from angry wife as well.
Going to try looks easy.
Thank you for a great video, good explanation and pic.
I have the same faucet and was.wondering if.the aerator can be replaced? The water pressure is low and thinking replacement would help but I can't loosen it and wondering if.its welded on and can't be changed out.
Great vid!!!! Do i have to turn off water to do the repair?
If you're going to take out the cartridge, then yes, you have to turn off the water or it'll shoot up. But if you are ONLY going to take off the faucet HANDLE to tighten that nut only, no need to turn it off.
Thank you! Fixed my leak. Liked and subscribed!
Thank u. Helpful and informative.
around 4:30, I don't understand what you did to reposition the handle. How and what did you adjust?
Excellent video thanks a ton.👍👍👍

Great video! My bathroom Faucet, the hot water handle to close is counterclockwise , while the cold water handle is clockwise to turn off.... Is this right?
Is this fix only for kitchen faucet? Will it work for the bathroom faucets?
Mine doesn't have the Allen nut. I took off red plastic to reveal a perfectly round hole. No nut. Any easy suggestions?
