The uneven firing makes a nice sounding chord, but can never be made to "scream" like an even-firing V-10 because you're missing the high-pitched fundamental frequency (i.e., first harmonic) that the even-firing engine makes.
I beg to differ my brother. As a layman I’d say I fail to understand what it takes to get that sound however have a look at this company in South America that’s managed to somewhat replicate that desired traditional V10 sound out of the 5.2L V10… th-cam.com/video/1dND3Va9GMk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KlCOFXjWELZcEIio
Hot take: I prefer the uneven sound of the 5.2 V10. If I want to hear a screaming sound I usually look towards a V12. However, after a while, an even sounding V12 scream, can get somewhat irritating. My fav engines are V10s, flat-6s, and I-5s.
You can dampening harmonic sequence to bring out a specific frequency the fundamental if you like. You can do this in audio with a comb filter or equaliser. Technically though the fundamental will be the lowest in the sequence which would make it sound lower pitched. Clearly from listening to exotic exhausts they have more harmonic overtones bring in the interval that sound chordal in harmony and higher up the harmonic sequence. Clearly dampening lower frequencies in the harmonic sequence make the harmonics louder I suspect this what the x pipe and expansion chamber do. This can be achieve scientifically with measurements or by trial and error.

Stepped headers help but not too much, these things need an unequal length midpipe before the x-pipe, think about it, if even firing engines need equal length exhaust to sound high pitched then it's the opposite for uneven firing engine, by calculating the correct length difference you emulate a different bank/crank timing angle

I could be wrong but it seems that you have a restriction at the center of x to keep same airflow and velocity as in 3 1/2" incoming pipe, the center should have 5" cross section. 😉

Stepped primaries. 10 into 1. Make the firing order exit out the collector sequentially in a circle. Single pipe out the back. Apparently that was the "secret" F1 was using.
10 into 1 won't do anything it's an uneven firing order, you will not get the pulses to mix on an uneven firing engine. Do you understand this is not like a crossplane V8 where the banks are uneven firing but the engine itself is even firing, here the banks are even firing 144deg but the engine itself has 90deg-54deg firing intervals. you have to equalise this to a even 72deg interval to get the pulses to mix and get a high pitch sound. and you equalise this through unequal length midpipe, make one pipe longer than the other before they merge again in the X-section
@@Chris-cy3uq since the original comment was referencing f1 v10 engines, 90 degree v10 is actually accurate. They fire unevenly, but are clearly different in many other ways from an Audi v10.

Consider what I'll say Considering the megaphones and x pipe multiply the exhaust frequency, I would try puting the megaphones before the x pipe right after the headers instead of after the x pipe, for me makes more sense if the intention is to sound like F1 ish cars. And, odd firing v10 must have a correction of 18º of crank rotation on the length of the headers because the firing intervals are 90º / 54º between cylinders. This change in length produces the correct alignment of firing pulses, making it sound more like 1st gen Gallardo (that has split crankpins) ou even LFA (72º block V angle. Stepped primary headers multiply the frequencies too. All of this together will enhance even more the glorious sound of these already beautiful sounding v10s
The x merge needs to be more to one side and not in the middle to compensate for the delay in firing order time and will make it sound more even firing
