I had not seen the band in 20 years. I lost them after the black album. My wife made me go as she is a big lifetimefan of them… it made me fel in love witje them all over again. We did the two gigs in Amsterdam and it was a blast!
Glad to see you getting into the new stuff. One thing you should check out is Metallica doing a live cover of an Elton John song when he and his writing partner for receiving The Gershwin Prize. The song they covered is "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding l". Not sure how well you know Elton's music but it's a great cover. Link for it is below, would love to see your reaction to it. I also included a link to a live performance of the original version to familiarize yourself with it before hearing the cover. Maybe do a double reaction to compare. Take care l, Mrs. R. It is pretty usual for a band, that's been around for so long, to release new albums less often. Back in the 80's they would release an album every other year, then in the 90's they had the Black Album in 91, Load and Reload in 96 and 97 and it wasn't until 2003 when they released St. Anger. Of course there was stuff like Garage Inc. in 98 and S&M in 99, but those are not regular studio albums. Then it took them several years to release Death Magnetic in 2008, Hardwired... to Self-Destruct in 2016 and now 72 Seasons in 2023. And then there was also the collaboration album with Lou Reed called Lulu in 2011, but ehhh...we don't talk about that one 😅
I don't know what your original comment was in reference to. Did I say something was "old school Metallica"? I listened to Metallica back in the 80's and 90's and they were one of my favorite bands. I also don't have anything to play a vhs tape 😆 I've only just heard their newer music.
It's very rare that I like every song on an album, but every song on this one is a banger 🤘
Tom araya of slayer said it best-metallica is,was and always will be the kings of metal!
THE TITANS AND LEGENDS OF MUSIC 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Rocking out right now

Metallica was my favorite band for many years. Until I discovered The Warning. Sorry boys, you are #2 now.
Metallica was my favorite band over 30 years. Still is. I like the warning.
