3:12 The animal on the cover of RIOT's album is a seal 🦭 , not a panda. I'm a huge fan of RIOT . I love the album "Mean Streets" , it's my favorite album of the year 2024.
Acid Bath reunion is what I'm looking forward to the most in 2025. My favorite Sludge Metal band of all time. When The Kite String Pops and Paegan Terrorism Tactics are all time classics.🤘
Great list nice to seeing you going into this in this video. Nice stuff. Unleash The Archers and Judas Priest is the only i got. Hope to getting more of these and get into some of them too.Or rediscover some of them.
Love to see the branching out here! The Riot catalog is definitely worth diving in to. Swords and Tequila will get you through the night…. Same with the Powerwolf stuff - all good and all fun. Pretty soon Melanie will be challenging Marty for the power metal crown and pimping Helloween to everyone that will listen! 🤘
Awesome Selections My Lady ! Glad To See The Essentials Coming Into Play! Your Right Its Time To Being Fourth Quality Power /Thrash Elemnts To Our Ears Certain Bands In These Genres So Need The Accolades! Thank You So Much For Putting It Out There Women 🤘😛
We are so proud of you, Melanie 😁. Don't let the haters and gatekeepers try to revoke your metal card for getting into power metal. There is so much fun to be had with the genre. There's not a single genre that can make me laugh, smile, cringe, and get goosebumps all at the same time. It's just a hot slab of cheesy goodness!
Very nice list !! I didn't know you channel but I will definitely subscribe and follow you. Regarding the heavy and power for 2024 if I have to pick only one band it will definitely be Nemedian Chronicles with their album Savage Sword. It is not a very known band because they are first very young and second they are from France. Even in France they are (for now) not very known. Their music is strongly influenced by Blind Guardian, we can feel it with the singer voice but not only : with the guitars, the way to use choruses etc. In the music we have also touches of true heavy Metal, warriors and very epic stuff. I would advice eveyone who loves Blind Guardian or bands like Manowar, Eternal Champion, Manilla Road etc to give Nemedian Chronicles a try. It really worth it !!
Hey Melanie. A very pleasant list for the past year. I missed Mayhemic somewhere, I have to look for their album. When it comes to such lively thrash metal, one of my favorite albums last year was Profane Prayer from Greek specialists Suicidal Angels. And if you find a moment of free time, you might like the second album PANDEMIC - Phantoms by the young guys from Kraków. The album is out now via Dying Victims Productions (LP and CD). Happy New Year. Cheers ~ Fozzie
I haven’t really listened to power metal since I was a teen in the early 2000s. Cool to know all these bands are still releasing new music. Hammerfall’s Legacy of Kings is probably my favorite power metal album of all time, I listened to it on repeat while playing Final Fantasy. Along with In Flames Clayman.
Nice to see you branching out a bit. I think there is nothing wrong with having fun listening to metal. Power metal is uplifting to me and can change my mood instantly. I am going to suggest a band because you found Unleash the Archers, called Seven Kingdoms. They are from Florida and have just great riffs, killer female vocalist, just the whole package. It's very meaty metal i guess is how i would put it. I would say you could go all the way back to their self-titled album and work your way forward. They just put out an EP called The Square this year and their last album Zenith is one of my favorites and doesn't have any filler. So check them out! I saw them recently in Atlanta to a sparse crowd, they are very underrated and it's kind of sad because they are so talented. I would love to see you cover this genre more often. IMO there are not enough channels covering this style of music, but there is an audience out there for it. Gods in Decay is my favorite song of the year too!
Great list! if you like old school thrash check out Morbid Saint- Swallowed by Hell and Atrophy- Asylum both from this year. For Doomy metal and in the Type O vein (since their former drummer is a member) check out Patriarchs In Black. I love the last 3 Hammerfall albums too
Fun video. Glad to see Vicious Blade. My favorite Riot albums/highest recommendations are: 1 Fire Down Under 2 Born in America 3 Restless Breed 4 Immortal Soul. 5 Narita Most of these are traditional heavy metal rather than power metal, which Riot began to make on Thundersteel.
Hey Melanie, I’m a big fan and also a huge power metal and traditional heavy metal person. Glad you enjoyed this years ironflame. If you’re looking for recommendations, this year’s savage oath and demon bitch are similarly awesome power metal releases! The new rage this year was very fun as well, I’ve been trying to dive deeper into their catalogue since afterlifelines released and I’ve been impressed with the consistent quality they offer! Since you liked the new Judas Priest, I would recommend Angel Sword’s new album if you haven’t heard it, very fun traditional heavy metal that leans a bit into classic hard rock sounds, the band say JP are one of their biggest inspirations. Oh also since you liked Powerwolf and Windrose, I’m sure you’d like Within Silence, a similarly symphonic but more riff driven band who released their third album at the start of this December. Big fan of your content and it was very cool seeing you cover all this great new stuff!
My Metal Top 10 2024 (.. excluding death & black metal..) 1. Crypt Sermon: 'The Stygian Rose' 2. Stygian Crown: 'Funeral for a King' 3. Dissimulator: 'Lower Form Resistance' 4. Suicidal Angels: 'Profane Prayer' Morbid Saint: 'Swallowed by Hell' Yes, I listened to a lot of doom metal when not listening to death metal... 🤗
NICE ! THE TWO ALBUMS I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO FROM YOUR TOP 15, ARE HUMANOID BY ACCEPT WHICH I LIKE VERY MUCH, AND THE JUDAS PRIEST ALBUM, 'INVISIBLE SHIELD' WHICH IS AWSOME. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Cool list. Unleash the Archers, IronFlame and a band called Ravage were my power metal faves this year. Vicious Blade was 🔥🔥🔥 for me and loved the new Devestator and Bewitcher albums. I plan to revisit Rage and Oxygen Destroyer. Those didnt totally click with me but i found songs i really enjoyed. F@ck Yeah...Judas Priest 🤘
I can't say I listen to a lot of powermetal but Orden Ogan was my favorite ;-) I have that new Unleash the Archers downloaded from bandcamp, but I haven't found time to listen to it yet >_
The new Hammerfall was so good. The same about the new Dream Evil, by the name "Metal Gods". The new Traveler was a killer. I recommend also another new band, but they're more classic doom with stoner influences. I'm speaking about Castle Rat and their debut: Into the Realm. The new Cloven Hoof was also spectacular.
Holy moly if you liked the new Unleash the Archers 100% check out the previous two. Apex and Abyss. They are IMO some of the best powermetal ever released. Also, they are unreal live.
My Top 10 Albums of 2024 1. Morbid Saint - Swallowed By Hell 2. Rut - Morbid Thoughts 3. Evildead - Toxic Grace 4. Nocturnus AD - Unicursal 5. Atrophy - Asylum 6. Anarchy - Xenotech And The Cosmic Anarchy 7. Judas Priest - Invincible Shield 8. Satan - Songs In Crimson 9. Deicide - Banished By Sin 10. Flotsam And Jetsam - I Am The Weapon
Just sampled Oxygen Destroyer, and I was blown away. If Skeletonwitch and Dark Angel had a baby , it would sound like oxygen destroyer. PS Priest still has it....
Shocking Melanie, you are really getting soft, haha. 😂😂 Did not pick up any new HM this year, probably 6-7 thrashing ones. Mayhemic is a great band, but still prefer the first ep. Vulture returned to form and Morbid Saint was the big positive surprise for my part. Hope you get a great new Metal year. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
You absolutely need to check out more modern thrash. Last few years it's had another slight resurgence. There's tons of great stuff this year and last year specifically.
Hope you check out Symphonic Metal Nightwish Ghost Love Score And Versailles Faith and Decision live with English Subtitles.... As well as Epica and Sabaton.
If you are just getting into Power Metal thr entire J Metal scene os waiting for you Aldious- Dominator live Radiant A O East Galneryus Angel of Salvation Lovebites Scream for Me live Daughters of the Dawn And technical speed Metal Unlicky Morpheus Cadaver/Revadac with sheet music Metalcore Hanabie Run Away
I forgot Accept put out a record this year. Then again Accept have been forgettable for a while. Hard to believe Tornillos been in the band for longer than the original UDO run. and don't bother with Helvetet's Port's other albums, they're terrible.
3:12 The animal on the cover of RIOT's album is a seal 🦭 , not a panda.
I'm a huge fan of RIOT . I love the album "Mean Streets" , it's my favorite album of the year 2024.
Thanks for turning me on to Helvetets Port---promising stuff!
Morgul Blade - Heavy Metal Wraiths is my #1 Heavy Metal album of 2024!
Acid Bath reunion is what I'm looking forward to the most in 2025. My favorite Sludge Metal band of all time. When The Kite String Pops and Paegan Terrorism Tactics are all time classics.🤘
Great list. At the moment, I can't get enough of the new Toxikull album, Under The Southern Light. It's a blast!
Great list nice to seeing you going into this in this video.

Agree. All nice and well with these bands this year , but the masters showed they still own the throne.

The main Riot album you need is Thundersteel if you don’t have it……get it ASAP.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🍺🍺🍺
Vulture, Powerwolf & Neon Nightmare were some of my favorite albums this year as well. Judas Priest too. Great list! Happy New Year!
Viscous Blade rips! I’d add Wraith, Demiser and Acid Mass for blackened thrash.

Not gonna argue with anyone wearing a Revocation t-shirt, a clear sign of impeccable taste.
Power metal is fun and good for a break from death metal. Offers different and uplifting grandiose vibes
Just sampled Oxygen Destroyer, and I was blown away. If Skeletonwitch and Dark Angel had a baby , it would sound like oxygen destroyer. PS Priest still has it....
Congratulations you made me curious about listening the last JP, great review, first time watched your channel from afar.
