Steve O definitely has brain damage but he's been off the drugs for quite some time. His story of sobriety is actually quite impressive because of how fucked up he used to be. He's one of the nicest guys now, and Al only calls him out because he himself is fucked in the head and probably jealous of Steve O's fame. seriously how cringey can a comedian get, calling out a genuine dude like Steve O for doing real comedy, stuff he makes up himself. Steve is not the best comic but I do believe he's trying hard. Al has some funny jokes but he's a worse person, so I don't find him as funny as a whole. I find it incredible, and incredibly admirable, that Steve-O is so humble in regards to his comedy career. Steve-O has made more people laugh, more frequently, and more emphatically that almost anybody in the entertainment industry! Steve-O is a GOAT. He would literally put his life on the line for the sake of comedy - routinely! That is far more than one can say for some no-name, fat, ugly, lazy, self-deprecating comedy cellar LOSER. Not to mention, he never sold out to do cheesy rom-coms and garbage "family" movies like many other comedic "greats" of our time. As far as I can tell, the only comedy careers as unique and clean as Steve-O's are Chappelle and Carlin, but even they eventually muddied their careers with pandering to the political status-quo (the most un-funny thing any person can do). A comedian's job is to make us laugh. That's what Steve-O has always done. A GREAT comedian demonstrates to us how we take the world too seriously, offering us relief, freeing us from the pain of living by giving us a vicarious glimpse through their hilariously irreverent perspective of this crazy, messed up world. Nobody, in my experience, accomplished this transference of such irreverent celebration of being as well as Steve-O did. I sincerely believe that if not for the stigma surrounding addiction, Steve-O would be widely regarded among the best entertainers of our time. I find it incredible, and incredibly admirable, that Steve-O is so humble in regards to his comedy career. Steve-O has made more people laugh, more frequently, and more emphatically that almost anybody in the entertainment industry! Steve-O is a GOAT. He would literally put his life on the line for the sake of comedy - routinely! That is far more than one can say for some no-name, fat, ugly, lazy, self-deprecating comedy cellar LOSER. Not to mention, he never sold out to do cheesy rom-coms and garbage "family" movies like many other comedic "greats" of our time. As far as I can tell, the only comedy careers as unique and clean as Steve-O's are Chappelle and Carlin, but even they eventually muddied their careers with pandering to the political status-quo (the most un-funny thing any person can do).
A comedian's job is to make us laugh. That's what Steve-O has always done. A GREAT comedian demonstrates to us how we take the world too seriously, offering us relief, freeing us from the pain of living by giving us a vicarious glimpse through their hilariously irreverent perspective of this crazy, messed up world. Nobody, in my experience, accomplished this transference of such irreverent celebration of being as well as Steve-O did. I sincerely believe that if not for the stigma surrounding addiction, Steve-O would be widely regarded among the best entertainers of our time.
Steve-O is not merely a comedian, he's a fucking legendary comedian. Stand-up may not be his bread-and-butter, but laughter is. It's why we all know who he is, and why the world looks on him with so much affection. To Hell with whatever slob told him he shouldn't be on stage. Wild Boyz was the funniest show to ever grace a television screen, and tho Pontius is the funniest muscleman in history, Steve-O was the main event.
Steve-O, if you ever see this - rock on, man. I fucking love you. Thanks for the laughs, and thanks for staying with us. The world is a better place with you here!
