- The Russian plane maker United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) intends to start Tupolev Tu-214 aircraft deliveries in 2024. Currently produced in limited quantities for the government and military, UAC aims to redirect Tu-214 productionfor commercial use and gradually increase output from 10 to 20 per year to address the capacity gap.
Russia has been grappling with a significant capacity gap, which emerged for its airlines due to Western sanctions imposed on the country in 2022 as a response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

I think it includes general aviation. Total amount of russian aircraft is ~1300 pcs. Even though I don't think these plans are realistic.

This is not the only aircraft produced in Russia. There is Sukhoi Superjet and MC 21 300, and IL 96. USSR used to rely solely on it's own aircrafts. Now, Russia will do the same adding thousands of jobs.

A321s engine isn't powerful like 757 one but Tu204s engine produce similar thrust like of 757 engines, that's why it beleive that unlike A321, Tu 204 could produce similar performance (exp like high performance in higher altitude airfield) like of 757

The basic design of the 737 is from the 1960. It's still being built. The A320 is also older. It's relatively common in the airline industry to evolve older designs and make them more efficient.
Russia also developed two newer aircrafts in recent time. The Sukhoi Superjet and Irkut MC21

The reality: All Russian civil aircraft (e.g. SJ 100, MC 21, TU-204 etc) have so far had significantly higher maintenance costs & downtimes than promised & than competitor aircraft. Therefore since 2000 their world market share (outside Russia/Belarus/Cuba) is less than 0.1%! It became known that MC 21 and Superjet SJ100 without foreign key components would have significantly poorer performance values (range, altitude, acceleration, speed).

Resurrection of old soviet technological achievements will not be sustainable in the log run. At some point, the RND will have to kick in, but that will be costly and is doubtful whether RF economy can finance current and future Russian wars and high technology RND concurrently.

I'm pretty sure UAC has no way to acquire proper modern avionics or even engines. If anything they'll be using what they had sitting in storage before the start of their Ukraine invasion, other than that it'll mean return to 1960's tech. Which explains the 3 person cockpit.

By the way - in 2010 was produced and tested modification of TU-204/214 -TU-204SM ( two planes) with 2 pilots cockpit and other improvements .But due to lobbying and corruption in the government it was decided not to produce in favor of western Airbus and Boeing .Also the Russian regional jet aircraft SSJ-100 has 2 pilots . Currently more than 160 aircraft of this type are operated in Russia

More completion is always better for the industry. Hopefully Boeing and Airbus will wake up from stagnation and actually work on something new. Even though Russian and Chinese companies aren’t yet competitive to the extent of the big two it’s not good to stay complacent.
Russian companies won’t conceivably be competitive for decades, best case. Most likely case they will never be competitive, full stop.
