Cats began outside not inside. We decided to bring them in but all the other cat families are outside. And your babies are used to the weather and love the freedom,. If they didn't they would be scratching to get back into the catio. Those kittens are in kitten heaven. So happy for them:)
@@christina3111 yes, despite what a lot of comments say…I know the cats and I can actually see their joy and contentment. It’s winter here now and I keep them in a lot of the super cold or stormy days, they get all plump and furry to protect themselves and are adaptable. They do enjoy laying on their heated beds too 😉
Watching you with those beautiful animals, all of them, cats, dogs, chickens, geese….. is like watching Saint Francis of Assisi, you truly enjoy the pure beauty of life ❤

You should put tracking devices and track which each cat goes in the direction of and see if there's pattern. I saw a study about thirty forty farm cats going in different directions on the farm.

For me is the most beautiful, I'll definitely take him with me in the house for longtime, until he get use to me and the house, and even when he go outside, he will come back to the house by himself, like a privileged cat hahahaha

I grew up on a farm so I have always grew up with lots ov all kinds ov animals I'm 65 now and in a city recently I had to put down my dog but still have 2 beautiful cats that are indoor one is 2 and 3 so I will have many good years with them .your doing a great job .love from.canada 🇨🇦

I'll be darned - - black leghorns - didn't know they existed. Growing up we had leghorns, the rooster's name was Rufus - and I was slightly fearful of his long spurs. However, the bandy rooster was the one that would get me. Love your barn kitties - sure wish I could have more than just my 2 - but to close to a main road - so they have to stay indoor with a catio and a large screened porch.

No roaming free in town!! Come to Baker County you will find beautiful kitties struggling in the road where they have been hit by a a car or truck. You will cry while driving by!! Keep them on the farms away from roads. It’s been proven cats only live 2 to 3 years verses living in a home with a sunny screened in porch. My cats live around 20 yrs. With good food vet care and lots of love. Lulu is a member of our family. 🐈🐈🥰🥰🥰♥️♥️

It's good to see your barn cats have collars and that you take care of them. Out in the country, feral cats are a real problems and are dealt with. I do not mind the neighbor cats coming around as they are really good at keeping the rodents around the house under control. I think the comments about cats being indoor cats are from those that live in suburbs or cities

My old barn cat named Fluff always has to take 1-5 minutes to decide anything, I gave up and installed cat doors hahaha.

What do you say about the cat being outdoors is rightWhere are you live live it would be natural for them but if you live in a town or a city they are much safer inside because they become roadkill but you are right ❤
Oh yes for sure I mean on a farm. Farm cats and city cats have different lives, it would just about kill me to have one of my cats roadkill.

Where I live in Toronto, Canada, we've had one very light snow fall overnight and was by mid- morning. It has been on the chilly side. But for the last couple of months, all we have gotten is non-stop. 🌧 🌦 As long as the rain doesn't freeze, I'm happy 😊. 🚫 ❄️⛄️👍

Solo the gander kind of looks relaxed and happy to be top guy! The cats are so not going to believe their eyes when they get a dedicated playground like a Magical palace! Don’t forget to consider the multi tier swing. I think they might go bonkers with one or two of them. 🐈🐈⬛😉🐱🧶🐯🐾

Had dry Christmas's in the 60's, Olcott NY right across Lake Ontario Used those ready mix tubs for litter boxes in my garage.

Great vid I'm glad you removed a rebellious goose. It's currently 57 degrees and very overcast and cloudy here in Orange County California. I was sitting outside while watching this vid. The cold air and slight breeze sudo made me feel like I was there. Lol I know I'm a dumbass. LOL just owning it.
Loved your video with the claw crew! I too have a claw crew and depend on them for control of the "unwanteds". Each one has a distinct personality and they are in no way feral. Many people are mistaken to think these cats are feral. A special group!!!🌻

Aww thanks. I remove all the little bells from their collars so the id tag doesn’t really clang. They still get tons of prey as they’re such stealthy hunters.

I love your cats, too. We had a precious cat, Taco, who was not interested in mice at all. One time, I watched him as he looked at a mouse cross right in front of him. Taco just gave a big yawn. He could not have cared less. !!

Really enjoyed this video. One concern- that all cats get into things (especially outdoor cats) and hanging is a danger for those wearing a collar. Sadly I know this first hand. All love to you and your family - furry and otherwise.
It’s very important for farm cats to wear breakaway collars. They cannot get hung up and strangle cause with a bit of pressure the collars release themselves. 😉

Can I ask why you keep ducks and geese? Just curious! Do you have water nearby or do they just relax in the tub? 😊
Quick answer is that the ducks help control insects in the orchard, geese guard the ducks from some predators and eat the grass. Both fertilize the pasture in the orchard and provide meat and eggs. We also sell live birds, fresh eggs and fertile eggs. They do fine with the tubs but I’m actually building them a small pond this spring, it’s gonna be fun I think.

Appears as if you only have the one. They all love it and want to play in the water but it’s way too small 🫤
Just curious why you don’t allow the claw crew 🐈 access to the catio all day instead of JUST at night.
They would still kill all the rats and mice but they could also go in and get warm, eat and drink a bit and rest up for more hunting!
I’m sure you have places all over your land for them to rest up but it’s not going to be nearly as warm as the catio is in late fall and winter.
Some of the cats may want to sleep or stay inside a bit longer on the colder days but they are forced out each morning and can’t get back in until you call them in …

I’m honestly not trying to be critical, you do an outstanding job w the animals and you care more about barn pets than 80% of others I’ve seen 🥇
I am just genuinely curious if there is a solid reason why you shut off access to them during the day… especially if it’s really cold and/or has a windchill or freeze.

Oh the guard goose for the chicken yard has only the one tub in their run and one tub in the yard, he’s with 3 drakes right now but they aren’t permanent…they’ll either be sold or be for meat as we have enough drakes already. The laying flock in the duckie bunkie have 3 tubs and a kiddie pool so they have plenty of water. The cats are not “forced” out if they had their way they would never be in. You can see as soon as I open their door they run out it’s only Fozzy who needs a little coaxing to come out but he’s a chonkers and needs the exercise anyway. I close up the catio door when they come out because Bubbles is the one cat that doesn’t go out yet as I don’t trust she’ll come back (long story) so I have to keep it closed. Unlike in summer the crew don’t stay outdoors all day anyway, it’s usually only half day maybe. When the cats are out I never see them “resting” they’re always exploring or hunting. Believe it or not they’re not as cold as one might think, they have heated cat tents in their house but don’t always use it. It’s there if they need it though. If I see them hanging around the cat house area I know they want back in 😉
