    Hello. Still watching. I turned my 30 day grow into a 60 day grow and now into a 90 day grow before I find a professional to shape and trim my beard. I made the rookie mistake early on of raising my neckline too high so I’ve lowered the neck and raised the cheek line so the barber has something to work with. I haven’t tried your products yet but will be ordering soon. So many to choose from. Thanks for the great videos. I’ve learned a lot.

    I used that in the growing of my beard and it caused a wave that progressively got worse the more i used it. Now i use my wide tooth wood comb only and the wave is almost gone finaly. Wont make this mistake again

    Good video. Don't have a beard, but use a boar bristle brush every day on my hair. Since I am attempting to grow my hair longer, brushing every day not only keeps my hair and scalp healthy, but allows me to shampoo less frequently.

  • @squirts1
    @squirts1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    you can do most of this stuff with your hands, with competent showering, and with any brush, honestly, any brush (stimulate the skin, exfoliate, distribute oils). The vast majority of boar brushes have FAR too many bristles and cannot penetrate a long thick beard like mine (does nothing) while combs simply catch and rip hairs out. Personally, I've found detangling brushes to be the best thing for my beard... Like those goofy looking tangle teezer/tamer or wetbrush.

  • @Shadows-FX

    New subscriber. Great video! I’m in my 4th grow phase because barbers kept cutting into my beard deeper than I wanted and I had to keep starting over. I use to avoid the boar brushes because they hurt my skin but I’ve gotten used to it.

In fact, get two-- they work wonders on my dog's and cat's fuzz as well (seriously)....spreads their natural oils just as it does with a beard 👍

    Another alternative for those living a vegan lifestyle is a wood bristle brush. Like natural boars hair, they will distribute sebum properly as well as beard oil/balm. Also, they do not create static. Just a suggestion. Peace and Love.

    Wooden bristle brush vs wooden comb?
    I've always used a wide toothed comb to work with whichever beard oil I'm using and had no issues, afaik at least. 5-6 inch beard if it's worth noting.

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's more of a personal preference. Combs help guide the hair, but brushes get to the root and stimulate the hair follicles.

      Johnny Garcia personally I use beard shampoo once a month. Use warm water, tiny bit of shampoo and gently agitate the bristles. Rinse well and allow to dry bristle-side down so excess water does not seep back into the wooden handle thus causing it to swell and lose bristles. Works for me.

    Vegans can still use boar brushes, the boars are looked after very well. You can always contact the company and ask about their policies and where they source the boar hair from. A lot of companies will happily send you the info. My gf is a vegan and when I buy animal products I always email the company and so far I've always gotten the legal documents sent to me proving the animals are looked after. As long as you don't buy products from dodgy companies wool and boar hair are very animal friendly.

    • @Beardbrand

    • @Beardbrand

      The comb is more portable and does an excellent job of helping to tame your beard. The brush is an awesome addition to helping keep your beard straight and neat, but it does a different job than the comb (plus it's not as portable as the pocket comb)

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most shampoos aren't designed for the sensitive and wiry hairs in your beard. You may be able to use it a few times, but it would result and beard dandruff or flakes. The fact that it is aloe vera may make it better suited slightly, but your best bet is to go with a beard wash.

      @@enemydown.gaming I told about future genetics issue we all change by age and I agree so that we are not same , so In my opinion minoxidil is never safe . It is a genetics hacking think about that most people are happy with results but in future it can cause complexity no one knows . So awareness of us individual should put there so we can understand better by ourself thats it man .

    How mush should i brush my beard cauz i hear that you must brush only two times a day max and others say brush it in any moment of the day ?

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can actually brush as many times as you want. Now, you don't NEED to brush too many times every single day, but if you're brushing around three to four times per day, that would be totally fine.

    are wood combs any good? i have been using kent for 3 years now but heard that plastic combs cause static and are bad for your beard.

    • @MattP-BandB
      @MattP-BandB 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Divyraj Rathore I have a couple of sandalwood combs that I love. With that being said QUALITY plastic combs by Beardbrand, Kent or Baxter of California are all saw cut, polished and made of cellulose acetate (natural plastic made from plants) that will not harm your beard or cause static.

    Hey Awesome Beard Man. I have an answer for you vegan friends in the world on the brush. Its a botanical solution for all. I'm not vegan but I was talking to my father about the topic. He mentioned AGAVE BRISTLES HAIR BRUSHES to me. Never knew they existed but had to come back and let you know. And, get some friggin hair brushes on your site please! I mean for the hair on me head I aint a baldy just yet.

      Mortadha Alkadban Seek out a wood bristle brush my friend. You'll get most of the same benefits of a boar brush

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah, Matt is right. And I believe Eric mentioned you can use a nylon brush as well, but those don't have the same benefits.

    I don't "need to use" anything, stop telling me what to do.
    If you're trying to give advice, then give advice, stop telling me that I'm doing things wrong or that you know what I should be doing. Call it "three advantages of using a boar-hair brush".
    ...and now let's see how long it takes for you to come up with a video telling us that there's nothing better than the new wood-pin brushes you added to your shop...

      Can judge a book by its cover and you can't judge a video by it's title.
