She has tuned her guitar to play a D major chord on open strings, then capo'd on the 5th fret. This puts the song into the key of G maj. She then uses the easy 2 fingered E7 chord on the first and 3rd frets, in parts of the song. The rest is too difficult to explain here I'm afraid, but it's not difficult to play as long as you know the fingering.
She is singing this right now on TBN : ) This song has helped me so much, as I live with chronic pain and have laid in bed, crying from intense pain; her voice has healed me too. God bless you, Amy
@Photoglogal You said every word I needed to say:) God blesses us with people who speak to our hearts,..and she's one of them. No matter what's been said or judged towards her,...I still thank God for how she speaks to my heart. It's an understanding and peacefulness she brings to my ears on the road, at home, or when just singing alone. She is doing a great job. Thanks Amy!
I love her so much, had the pleasure of meeting Vince last month at the park,he was just cruising by,saw the stage set-up n stopped n sang a few for the crowd, nice folks
I love how real and down to earth Amy is,. I've loved her music from the beginning and seen her in concert several times. This is an especially beautiful song that reaches and ministers deep in my heart and will for anyone going through hard stuff (and don't we ALL from time to time?). I recently bought her book, Mosaic, as well, and it's a beautiful book. Go Amy girl! Keep up the great work for many more years to come!
My Christian mother couldn't understand that I wanted to sing this song for her at her 80th birthday her drug taking promiscious
So beautiful! Thank you God for giving us Amy Grant!

I love this song. At her concert she said this song came from a niece of hers that was suffering from alcoholism.
