For everyone that questioned if i teach how to tackle i do heads up every year and teach form every day its up to the young man or young women to do it if they dont do the drill right they are pulled from the drill and if they cant do it right also the game. I record so i can show them what they do wrong since some kids are visual learners thanks for everyones comments kerp them coming!

It's a stupid drill. This correlates nothing in football little to no tackles are make 15 yards apart head on head.

At my high school we did tackle drills but the coaches never taught us the right form. so lots of kids would just lower their heads and try to blow up the other guy. Good job for teaching how to tackle and not just letting kids hit each other like other coaches do.

This used to be my favorite day at football practice in pop warner. Hitting day would let you know who was really physical. It's what taught me to run as fast as I could, get low and put my forehead in their chest while popping up and scooping their legs at the same time... It's how I became a linebacker with the most tackles in my state as a junior before I got arrested. I loved this "up the alley drill" as we called it.

As a player for 15 years including college and 17 year coach of 11-12 yr olds, this is the most BS drill you could do. Football almost NEVER has people running at each other at full speed from 9 yards head on. Players get hurt for no reason and it does not simulate real game tackling or ever running. This is a coach's ego in full shitty form. Angle tackling is much more effective and is how 95% of tackling is reformed.

Rugby player and NFL fan, from Europe.
I thought this was going to be a horrifying Oklahoma style drill. However I’m really impressed by this.
Mostly great form, head to the side, tackle with the shoulder. You could make most these tackles in rugby, without pads, and be safe.
If I had to suggest an improvement the tackle at 0:47 was slightly head first. May just be the camera angle. The tackle that was too upright you can’t tell what his form would be like so I’d want to see him get bend and tackle shoulder first.
Good drill, well run, massive props to the coach.

Then came full contact and I remember I spent the first few days TERRIFIED lol, didn’t know if I could cut it...then I got super pissed in Oklahoma drills smashed some kid good and didn’t know how to feel, felt bad....then everyone was super stoked on the hit the coaches were sooo proud and I learned this is a mans sport and you have to sadistically destroy everything that opposes you and THEN it’s fun lol. Damn I remember this drill in high school so vividly. This kid Kyle and I were always last in line, he was a quick little bowling ball and I was the tallest, strongest defensive lineman. I can still feel the crown of his helmet hitting my shoulder and every week we’d go back and forth beating each other. Some weeks he would get too low for me to run through him, and some weeks I’d have to basically lunge at him as ball carrier just to stop his force coming with a low center of gravity. We called it death alley

Whoever is reading this, I wanted to say I hope you have a great day and that God loves you so much that he sent his son, Jesus, to die on a cross for your sins and he rose again from the dead three days later. God Bless! ✝️🙏🏼⛪️
And also, He doesn’t want you to go to Hell but he wants you to go to Heaven with him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Here are the steps below on how to get Saved!
      1. Confess to Jesus that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins.
      2. Believe that God sent His Son (Jesus) to die on a cross for your sins and that he rose again from the dead 3 days later.
      3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life and for him to be your Lord and Savior forever.

When I was in middle school our version of this drill we had to lay on the ground with our helmets pointing toward each other and our feet away from each other on our backs. One person had the ball. When the coach whistled we had to hurry up stand up turn and either tackle or try to run through the would be tackler depending on which person you were. Lol fun stuff. I remember every time I had to try to stop the giant running back star kid (I was a year younger than the rest of the team but same grade and skinny) I would throw myself at his legs and wrap him up mostly by tripping him with my body but always earned a massive headache for my troubles. But hey I got to be the starting safety due to my speed and willingness to sacrifice my body for the tackle at all costs. 🤷‍♂️🏈
