Been looking forward to this game. I like being able to place your own roads, but I also think more games should incorporate mechanics where dirt paths are auto-generated based on where a lot of foot traffic is at. That sort of mechanic is really nice.

You do not need to assign someone to the church. The Pastor doesn't really exist, but if you want, they are assigned by the Pope (or bishop) of the greater region. the person you employ at the church is not the pastor, but rather the gravedigger. You don't need a gravedigger until people die. Currently, they can only die in battle. Eventually people will be able to die from disease and hunger, but that is not fully implemented yet.

Yes, battles take place on the map itself. :) Guard posts etc I'm unsure of right now. I know that you can create additional armor/weapons for your troops though!
Weird, my other reply doesn't seem to be showing. My apologies! I said something like: I didn't see the bandits were in our territory so I assumed it was elsewhere. I'll make sure to create some militia to combat them soon!

Only slight complaints is that roads don’t appear naturally, like in Foundation
