It's terrifying. If you're Azata and becomes Swarm, the Swarm devours Aivu in seconds, leaving nothing behind of the smol baby Dragon.

Neutral evil by definition
Reminds me of the original Langrisser game. There were 4 lot paths: Light, Empire, Chaos, and Independent. You start on Light automatically and all the others branch off of that. The Independent path ends up being: You betray the soldiers of the Light, you betray the soldiers of the Empire and steal the Sword of Light, you betray the god of Chaos and steal the Sword of Chaos, you make enemies of just about everyone, murder the gods of light AND chaos, and build your utopia.

@@Jereb343 I’d say this is Chaotic Evil myself. Neutral evil understands the value of allies and working with people and is more pragmatic. The Swarm That Walks is the ultimate Murder Hobo that intends to consume everything

@@rfc1526 A lich has mortal goals like the acquisition of power, and so at least can be reasoned with. A devouring swarm of insects is much less inclined in that regard.

@@rfc1526 well, I don’t think anything in the pathfinder lore says that liches eat souls. They’ve just separated and trapped their souls to prevent their own death. Devouring souls is more of a ravener thing as far as I understand.

I mean, I don't think I'd ever voluntarily do this, but this looks so insanely OP that I almost HAVE to try it.
thats kinda the point... you give up EVERYTHING to become a solo god... but everyone hates/fears you now and everyone is basically just food for your swarm..
its the ultimate solo path being your own armies and your own companions by yourself.
It would be cool for a second play through but you do miss out on a lot of content if you decide to go this route.
@@AzraelSoulHunter there is a choice... and everyone will basically beg you not to do it... because once you transform the entire city either leaves you... (if you spare them) or becomes food for your swarm...
and yes after you transform you are considered the greatest threat to humanity... which is why everyone leaves you.
As someone who is doing Swarm as their first play through, I can say that in some aspects it can be trickier due to being solo. You are far more powerful, but your at a huge disadvantage when it comes to skill checks. You better hope that you never fall into mind debuffs such as fear, that could just spell loosing the fight when your only character is running away getting hit by everyone
@@roykong7024 isn't the swarm immune to mind control and mental abilities of any kind?... i mean it would make sense to be immune to that stuff.. since your a swarm of insects not a person anymore.
No gonna lie, this is god damn impressive as a mechanic and absolutely terrifying from a RP perspective.

Pathfinder devil saga
This kinda reminds me a lot of the evil ending of NWN2:MotB, where you can become the spirit-eater itself. Devouring everything in your path (gods included).
Is it just me or does the portrait kinda give off The Guy (mascot of the band Disturbed) vibes?

Thank you so much. This answered pretty much everything I needed to know before starting a new character. You saved me from getting all the way to level 20 before finding out that I picked unnecessary class features.

Love your videos. Have you thought about putting together a video on which Companions leave you depending on which Final Mythic path you choose? I think that would be really helpful.
Swarm that Walks is my favorite DnD monster. Saving this one up for probably one my last play throughs.

Do you know if you keep a merged spell book for Swarm? Like if I went lich into swarm will my wizard level still be increased?

One more question, what happens with mythic abilities gained prior to choosing late-game paths in general (swarm, dragon, devil, legend)?
You keep the abilities and feats those are universal to the mythic paths, you lose everything else after the quests
This game has awesome content, one of the most inspiring crpgs in years up there with dos2, bg3 and pillars etc...
my swarm size only sits at 273/1 how do i fill it up seems it wont fill up just increase in the ability to get larger
When i ate the queen nothing happened and i couldnt fix it (the option to choose the path in the dialogue wouldnt appear), only legend and keep mythic path. Does Anyone have a savefile before becomign the swarm and can share?I lost almost 80h of game. Thx
Can you still get mercenaries? If no; will the mercenaries that you bought before you went STW, still be with you after you go that way?
What's the best class/archetype if i want to summon a lot of monsters? Heraldcaller?
Class/archetype don't realy matter that much in terms of Pure strenght unless you min-max hard. If you Mix anything that summons with Aeon mythic path it will work.
How did you get the new portrait to show? Can you also change it at will? I can't find the options or what to click.

So you loose all abilities from the paths you chose from any other path when you turn into the swarm that walks?
say what class has the best synergy with SWT? im really curious was trying to get it for my first playthrough, im using a chruoromancer(wizard) but then the swarm gave some good bonuses to strength ,dexterity and constitution, so maybe something like a magus would do much better?
Theres no wrong answer really, its really strong in melee and ranged, so anything your doing is just on top of it.
Evil Druid for RP purposes, but it actually fits gameplay too.

Hey any ideal why it seems some of this stuff doesnt do damage? I can sit shoulder to shoulder with 2-4 enemies with swarm feast on and never see any damage. Similarily I only noticed swarm infest going off if I threw it at an enemy after ust growing in swarm size. But after this initial throw I can infect 4-5 people and never see a debuff or damage. An ideas?

@@user-fv4qk6ct8m If it's of any merit, once you get rank 9 my spells started doing what they were supposed to do. Until then it's just using summons/buffs/and all your other spells to get to that point. Biggest block for me was random unlucky hits that just wiped me out from a suped up bailor or something. @@user-fv4qk6ct8m well im not playing on core or above as this was my first run. But honestly i just kept cheesing with summons and bismuth until i just got lucky. Cause i would always open thr same way(using i think its called the grandmasters rod which makes your next three spells be both maximized and empowered). But if i didnt have the scroll supplies i had and everything else? I would have rither cheated or abandoned the run honestly. Good luck
Guess I'll put this off, my first playthrough is Lich, where I'm already killing/driving away all my companions. Want my next playthrough to actually have a living party to play with till the end heh.
If youre a cavalier with a pet does it leave as well?

Does choosing this mythic change your alignment to chaotic? I was thinking about a blight druid as a base class but that won't work if this forces you to be chaotic evil.

If you're a class that has animal companions, do your clones also get an animal companion? Can you be your own squad of centipede riding monsters? And do the pathfinder created characters also leave you?
you lose all companions, everyone leaves. The city is a den of insects, your army is you, it becomes a game of the swarm vs the abyss at that point. And honestly the abyss doesnt stand a chance cause you are op as fuck. As far as animal companions for each clone goes? no idea.

My only concern with this class is skill checks afterward. I guess some won't matter anymore though. Who do you need to persuade when you're burning it all down.
All persuade checks will be replaced with FUCKIN BEES!!
Can you save the game mid combat in either RTWP or turn based? I would love to play the game. However, I have a 5 month old baby, plus work 40-50 hour weeks I only get to game for 30-60 minutes at a time and being able to save at any time like is DOS 2 is ideal.
@@pchungvt Thanks for the info, sometimes it's not possible to leave it running and to come back later so would have to start encounters again.
I don't think there's any encounter that lasts that long.
@@CantripN There are some longass encounters if you're playing turnbased. They're not common, though.

@@CantripN Yup. Unlike real time turn based time scales with number of actors in the battle. So if you got 50+ people running around it's gonna take a while...

What does immunity to most harmful conditions mean, in the context of "The Swarm" ability. Is it straight up immunity to all status effects?
Not all, but a lot, it gives a list there on the ability
@@MortismalGaming I've only noticed a list on the Rank 9 "Eye of he Swarm", the Rank 10 as far as I can see doesn't have a list.
Would "most harmful conditions" in the context of the Pathfinder ruleset include mind-affecting stuff like charm, fer, etc...?
@@MrLucky7s I would imagine it would be pretty hard to mind control an entire swarm of insects with a hive mind... but thats just me.
I cant see to figure out how to spawn the new swarms on the campaign map. Just tells me unavailable? AGHGHGHG!
I have used mod to unlock and test swarm that walks but swarm infest doesn't seem to do any damage and the AOE damage of swarm feast doesn't work too. Is it a bug or just because I didn't unlock STW in the right way?
Seemed to be working when I was taking a look at it, could honestly be either or though
@@MortismalGamingCool. I can't find any video showing how swarm that walks abilities actually work so I just tested it myself. Just finished Devil playthrough and it'll take a lot of time to unlock STW properly in new playthrough. Hope the abilities will work by the time.
@@MortismalGaming I just tested it in pause mode, swarm infest and swarm feast did work. The thing is you have to wait after two rounds of yours after you cast either of the abilities in order for them to start doing damage in turn based mode.

That's the final one yeah
you transform after level 8 for ALL of the mythic paths... only azata gets a visual change at 3 (butterflies following you) but it is the only one that changes visually at 3.. also the swarm that walks can only be chosen at mythic rank 8

@@jaimeandrada6430 the swarm basically treats everyone as food... once you become the swarm all other life that isn't part of the swarm is food.. why would anyone stay with you after that? the lich may be evil but at least it doesn't treat everyone as food which it needs an endless supply of.

One problem I see with this is going to be skills. Party members aren't just extra attacks and spells and the like, but also different skills to cover a wider spread. Clones of yourself won't be able to flesh out the skills section, which may lead you to missing some substantial content if your character isn't perfectly optimized with skills, and even then you would need to be a skill monkey build fundamentally.
True but this is not really meant to be a path you take on first or second playthrough, its a "fuck everything up" path you take on later ones, just to see it. But yes, I definitely would say starting as a skill monkey (bard or vivi, probably) would be the best way to go with this path.
Well you don't need all the skills on an "eat everyting" run. And you could pick a feat for some extra skill points plus you get a ton of INT through the swarm mechanics which also gives you more skill points. So you should be able to cover everything you need.

Can the swarm clone be destroyed / removed?
They basically have no personality- so would prefer to not have them around until I need them.
But they have separate equipment and inventories, so summoning them in the middle of the battle naked isn't going to be all that great.
You'll need them around to keep them properly equipped.
What's the alignment? seems like it should just be straight neutral since EVERYTHING is just food...no judgements, just food lol

yes everyone leaves you... because no one wants to be eaten and the swarm views all living things as food... though that begs the question of the lich undead companions... because they aren't even alive to begin with... but yeah everyone leaves.. because why would you need other people when you can just make copies of yourself thru the swarm with all of your abilities.
