The green smoke when geld was getting devoured was geld eating parts of rimiru it was a battle to see who could eat who faster. Geld grabbed him and melted parts of him but rimiru can also regenerate so he kept regrowing till he could swallow geld. In the manga it explains it's more of a struggle but I think it shows decently if u pay attention

They didn't explain it well, but the reason he became the Orc Lord is because Starved has a special effect - as long as he eats the people under him won't starve either. Also, the reason he reacted so slowly before becoming a demon lord because that's the toll being an Orc Lord took on him. Once he evolved again it no longer consumed his intelligence.
That's not quite true, a orc lord is born to the orcs extremely rarely, they have the power of starved, when gelmund named him he made him almost mindless, he became a demon lord by gaining the power of those he ate.

Interesting differences between this and the Manga version:
Kijin kicked the crap out of Gelmud to the point they cut off one of his arms.
The reason the Orc Lord was so inactive his his mind was partially corrupted when he got his name. It was only after he evolved again that he regained his intelligence.
When AutoMode was activated Rimuru actually said it outloud which prompted people to notice his change and comment on it.
The Great Sage actually tricked the Orc Lord by partially reverting to slime to make it think that the Orc Lords corruption ability was dissolving Rimuru.

In the manga, the Orges beat up Gelmud at this point. Kinda sucks they cut that out and just made rimuru beat him up. It was nice seeing them take revenge for their village. Still cool seeing rimuru beating him tho
Alexanders VeryOwn the anime is adapting the wn and in the wn it was rimuru that fought gelmud and imo u should read the wn it’s already finished so u wouldn’t have to wait every week and I think it’s at least 200 chapters ahead of where the manga is

The fight is more faithful to the LN
While it was Rimuru in the LN, it was also kinda cooler there, too. Rimuru had been trying to learn the Arts that the Ogres/Kijin practice, that allowed Hakuro to sneak up on him and cut his Body Armor and Multilayer Barrier, but since it's something you learn from training rather than an intrinsic skill, Predator/Great Sage couldn't properly help him learn it. In the LN, Rimuru basically treats Gelmund as a guinea pig to practice and learn on, trying a few different things and basically playing around with and all around disrespecting the guy.
I prefer this fight in the manga over the LN version. More brutal, a bit more satisfying for the Kijins and they did skip a few explanations, like Geld's corrosion powers and the voice of the world. The 'flashback part tho , that was amazing.

And by "Eat the sins of your people." Rimuru was referring to take responsibility and rule over the orcs after the sins they committed under the influence of "Starved".
Basically, I imagine Reparation comes up and Rimuru slaps that down.
To clarify smg about Geld and Gelmud: the orc lord didn’t kill and eat him because he didn’t feel like taking his orders anymore, but rather because Gelmud told him to become a demon lord. In Geld’s clouded state of mind, the easiest and quickest way to get there was to consume Gelmud, so really he was just doing what his supposed master told him to. It’s not addressed in the anime, but it is mentioned in the manga

Tensura is a great anime, I love it also all, but I personally think the manga was able to convey some of the deeper messages and scenes better. Like inner struggles and the worldview. Love this!
And the Great Sage's Auto Control Mode was basically like a T(ool)A(ssisted)S(peedrun). Which is when you have a game set to play itself and your character can move and act with absolute precision to perfectly avoid attacks, run through stages unharmed, and basically beat the game in the shortest time possible.

Gobta now is a hob. GS doesn't deal with hobs in direct combat (they are way stronger than normal humans). He may set a trap to kill gobta. As for rigurd, he maybe be in a goblin champion's level.
Also GS deals with savage's but gotta is trained and can use skills
Gobta vs Goblin Slayer is dumb. Even tho I am a Goblin Slayer fan-boy, you can't really put up Gobta and GS, since Gobta can just do a shadow step and catch GS off-guard real quick (the question is would he be able to knock him out with one blow or not, or be able to recover and dodge GS' repost, which would determine the end of the battle imo). I don't follow manga/novel as of now, so idk what other skills can he use, but no Gobta would win just by the fact that he is more mobile than any goblin GS fought.
Basically, GS have no reason to attack Gobta, as well of many goblin tribe in Slime world.
Goblins in Slime world have males and females and can live happily with eating fruits. Unlike the Goblins in GS world who have only males and can't do anything better than being evil creatures.

_He takes all sins upon himself, he's absurdly OP, he can heal any injury, he's misunderstood, he wants everyone to get along, he doesn't quite seem to belong where he is, he has memories of his past life, he has access to knowledge that no one else does_
I think his weakness is going to be someone betraying him from within his inner circle (like Jesus). I think it makes sense because he's so accepting of everyone. And I'm sure he'll eventually get more powerful than any being in his Universe, and his enemies will have no choice but to use treacherous fuckery to defeat him.
The real world version of slime comes in multiple types, the two main categories being organic and synthetic. In both cases, Fire, Ice, and Electricity are all able to do serious damage to it. (Though with ice, that damage can often be undone by thawing it out.) So, as the main character is immune to all of those, it would be difficult to draw any parallels between real world slime and the one in this universe of anime.

@@aiya5777 Yes, I realize that when trying to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the main characters body, the place to start is game mechanics and folklore. But I was primarily addressing the comment in the video about analyzing real world slimes to work out his weaknesses. It wouldn't help because of the differences between real world slime and fantasy adventure slimes.
But you're right, in most settings a slime is a monstrous life form with demonic, or even abomination, origins. And so, holy magics wold potentially harm it. But we don't fully know the rules of the anime's universe, despite the similarities to a gaming setting. I could even imagine arguing that THIS slime has some celestial qualities because of how easily it refines healing potions with basic components.
I think he's calling Rimuru the Greedy One because he's the one who devours all of their sins. "Greedy" in that he takes all of that on himself, rather than leaving them with it. The one way that "greedy" would be good.

The major difference between the goblins of this and Goblin Slayer is the presence of goblin women. If the orcs aren't all turned into farmers the forest won't be able to support the them plus the goblins and the wolves. But then where would it be. They don't have enough space for farm land unless the destroy part of the forest.

I feel like they rushed the story with the orc lord compared to the light novel and manga, but hopefully they make up for it when telling the rest of the story. There is so much potential in this anime since there is the manga version which is up to 50 chapters already and the light novel which finishes the story at chapter 280 or so. There are still so many characters yet to introduced (Or reintroduced)

because Velodra let him ate him without any resistance while in this case, Rimuru and the Orc Disaster are literally trying to eat each other while at the same time they are regenerating themselves. In novel and manga, it actually took some time and the only time Rimuru won is when he told the orc disaster that he will eat their sin, which makes the Orc Disaster give up and accept his fate.

The orc lord is FIGHT back with his Starving skill, thats why rimusu said "who can eat faster" because both of them eat each other. But predator is the winner
I think rimuru still have a problem with his magic capacity, we can see he still passing out when giving name to other, but because he have devaour skill thats was OP, so he can still improve it, but he think still naive so he cant truly think to show off, like when he can shoot with all water he have, actually he can destroy world
the risk of naming monsters is actually literal *death* , it's shorten the master's lifespan too .

gelmud is classified as *a greater demon* , he's supposed to be immune to any physical n magical attack ( intangible ) . the only way to effectively hurt demon is by using [ haki ] just like in one piece lol
but.. due to gelmud had named 3 monsters ( rigurd's son , gabiru , and geld ) he lost level n became quite weak

I have a sneaking feeling that they secretly readed the manga. Nothing wrong with that but when they say eat him.
Rimuru likely got a weakness somewhere as most slimes do, but it's questionable if anyone even himself can find it.
Haven't looked at all the Ooze's from pathfinder(a game related to Dungeons & Dragons)
But from a first look Rimuru sound a bit like an Ooze(slime) Mimic.(A slime that can take the form of things it's devoured)
Though one image that showed up from googling had it being blue, the description in pf was of a black liquid(if any of the dnd editions got it different that might be)
Granted Rimuru would even be stronger than this "slime" that's already rather powerful for a slime.
Hopefully there will be an episode next week, but this realy felt like the conclusion of season 1.(especially with that ending)
