- I'll show you how to make a super useful DIY Book Holder two different ways in this video. Not only do they look attractive sitting on your end table or night stand, but I mean it when I say they're useful. You can save your place in your book just by placing it over the holder, SINGLE HANDEDLY! Plus, the fancy version, has a neat little drawer for storing your reading glasses, pens, pencils, etc. They may looks simple, but these are more challenging woodworking projects than you might think.

love the push stick
Super job. congratulations.
Excellent work. Thank you for the inspiration.
Nice work.
Better wood.
Good lookin' out .
Great project, Gorgeous wood! I also love your reading material at the start of the video!
Smart idea! And execution, too. Waiting for a shop first aid kit build. That would mount on the wall next to one of your clipboards. (Maybe with a sign "x days without an accident"?)
Hahahaha I probably should do that, not a bad idea at all. Am I really that accident prone, or am I just not shy and scared of hiding the reality of working in a shop? 🤔
That’s really clever. I like it.
Chris Powell thanks brother! Idk if I’d call it clever though 😂
Another great project Cody! You definitely have been rocking these small builds. Yeah and it’s grewt to show that mistakes happen. I now the feeling of cutting everything and then find out it doesn’t fit is is backwards....
+Revived Builds thanks man! I think what you’re trying to say in a nice way is it’s about time I tackle something larger. And I agree!! 😂 my scrap pile grows ever larger from mess ups lol
Where in Oregon are you? I'm in Redmond. Beautiful Book Holder!!
Dude, I'm a wood Carver. I'm happy if I manage to not get blood on things. Those little cuts you showed , minor. We work with sharp things, cuts happen, and we go on. Be careful, but keep on creating!
Ken Beattie
Amen to that! I just like including those in my videos to help keep people aware that we DO work with sharp, dangerous, things and that everybody messes up at least a little :)
This project came out amazing and the video work is excellent! You just earned a subscriber!
XYZ Create idk about excellent haha I feel my videography is one of my weakest aspects, but I appreciate the kind words! Nothing beats earning a sub 🤩
I like it a lot. A bit of carving on the front on it could be a great Deathly Hollows piece.
Very true! Should have thought of that 🤦♂️
Very well made video and love how the book holder came out!👍
+LTD Woodworks thanks! Are you by chance Canadian?
@@Craftswright Nope, In Virginia.
LTD Woodworks ahhh I thought maybe Canada cause LTD is more common up there. Well, cheers from Oregon!
I just found your channel this week and immediately subscribed. I am enjoying catching up on some of your other videos. The wood that you used in the fancy version of this build was spectacular!! Love it! Also, it’s fun to watch videos from a fellow Oregonian. :-)
YES! A fellow Oregonian! Hahaha that’s so awesome. Thanks for the views, the kind words, and your comment Lisa, cheers!
Nice one, I like it!
+JP Makes came out better than I was expecting. The project that is. You been working on anything fun?
I checked out your latest vid and I looks good man! I’m not expert, but if you want some tips shoot me an email and I’ll see what I can help with.
What kind of finish did you apply? Shllac, poly or something else. great video as usual. Thanks for sharing.
Trying to fire out how to do this with a table saw. Only have a miter
👍
New sub, here. Enjoying your work and I am impressed with this build. Keep it up!!
+Tom P thanks Tom! What about my work do you enjoy? Always looking to improve through quality feedback 😁
@@Craftswright I particularly enjoyed your sense of humor, the unique designs you have shared so far, and your willingness to say oops,,"made a mistake there".
+Tom P thank you so much man, definitely words of encouragement. I know we’re all supposed to come across as experts on TH-cam, but turns out we’re all humans and humans make mistakes 😂🤷♂️
Felt your pain with the multiple attempts at getting the angle right. I like the end result, looks cool with the brass accent...
Lucas Wood & Art thanks man! It’s brutal when you keep sacrificing wood like that isn’t it!? 😂😩
What flat tooth table saw blade do you prefer? I've been shopping for one for some time and I can't seem to settle on one.
edit: something I learned from Bob @ I Like to Make stuff when dealing with a miter that doesn't quite match up like you want.. try using a round screwdriver shank, rolled with light pressure perpendicular down the joint to round the edges of the wood towards each other. Have you tried this method?
Hey Guys can you helpe me find where i can buy it ? i real like the idea
Are the 32.5 degree cuts also made by standing up on end like the peak vs laying on the table of the table saw? If so, all of the 32.5 angles, the 2 sides and both on the bottom?
I purchased the plans but now can't find them in my email. Thanks!
Great video.
I would turn off the sound when you cut things because it’s really hard to what what your saying
wow, that looks amazing! You really gave me the urge to make something similar myself (would of course credit you if I made something similar over on my channel). +1 subscriber for that video.
Glad something I did inspired someone! What sort of idea where you thinking?
@@Craftswright mainly the idea of a little arrangement that stores both your book and glasses :) I'm a bookworm myself, so I can really have use for something like that, hehe.
BakerTheCreator get at it brother! Happy making!
What’s the degree again ?? 60 ? Angel…
