The little bump on the top of the GluBot's big yellow screw cap is meant to hold that red silicone cap out of your way.

It's crazy how this shelter in place has really brought back a lot of the original flavor and atmosphere to videos (not just these). It might be the isolation but it seems like all of the makers are more themselves, more sincere, more present in the videos... I like it.

12:55 We're all a bit on edge with the quarentine and all, so I have one tip for you to regain some sanity:
    1. Get one of those paper clamp thingies, the ones that look like a triangle with 2 legs.
    2. Drill the side opposite to the opening, (2-3mm would suffice) and insert a wood screw from the opening side towards the back. Using another clip to keep the first one "open" while you insert the screw from the clamping side helps a lot
    3. Screw to a small dowel
There you go, your own little disposable painting thingymajig, you just get offcuts of high density foam (or just reuse those crappy ones you got there) and hold them with the clip, when you're done you just toss the little foam square. No cleaning, no mess, no more stiff brushes. And you can make several sizes.

As for your annoyance with the wood glue cap and string thing (ball in a cup do-hickey), maybe you could glue a small magnet on the end of the cap and another one glued on the bottle to attatch it to and keep it out of the way when glueing?
