I'll give Nicholas Cage one thing.... he can turn any HORRIBLE script/movie into a hilarious movie through his outrageous acting alone. Props to the guy. I can just see Hollywood execs:
Exec 1: "Ya know this script and plot really sucks... and we don't have the budget for a decent director or audience to care. What are we going to do?"
Exec 2: "........ can we get Nicholas Cage?"
And God bless that man, he's always like, "Sure." I mean as bad I know the movies will be, I can always find myself if anything SOMEWHAT entertained by Nicholas Cage.

Billy needs to always be there for the bad movie roasts, I love the dynamic between Korey, Billy and Martin but even with Martin missing these two have a great time with these movies.
Nicolas Cage is an actor who is either really good or entertainingly insane in whatever movie he's in.

This is my favorite Nicholas Cage film. This is one of the greatest unintentional comedies of all time.

This is one of the only movies I had actually looked forward to unironically before release, based on trailers and the synopsis, that turned out to be "so bad, it's good." My brother and I were kind of stunned at what we were seeing. I couldn't stop laughing while my brother was face palming throughout. A hilariously terrible film that's still better than The Rise of Skywalker.
I saw this in the theater. I liked the original Wicker Man and Nicolas Cage was/is one of my favorite actors, so it had to be good right.... NO,!
“Titanic: the Legend Goes On” dog rapping scene is better than Rise of Skywalker movie.
Unlike Rise of Skywalker, this movie at least didn't insult my intelligence.
Movie has so many plot problems no cop is going to go to a random island by himself with no partner or without telling other officers or his boss where he's going and the fact Cage couldn't see the obvious warning signs that he was being set up makes him seem stupid. Any other rational thinker would have saw the signs and left and sent the case to the FBI or something.

There was all this talk about the original being a classic; about how Neil LaBute would reinvent horror and Cage was his muse. But, real talk, this is the first movie I saw where, right out the gate, I was like WTF?!? This movie is amazing for being AAA schlock.
It felt like the movie had like multiple drafts and they couldn't decide what direction to go with it.

What makes me sad is people often overlooked the original Wicker Man from 1973 and think of this movie. The original film is one of the greatest films and greatest horror films ever made.

The biggest difference between the '06 and '73 versions of The Wicker Man in regards to twist ending is that everything seemed somewhat smooth for Officer Howie in the original UNTIL that last hurrah. In '06, the town started off sinister, rather than building up to it. And, yes, they WERE messing with him in the original, but not to the extent of or as soon as the remake. You knew something bad was going to happen. It's almost like the makers knew the viewers of the mid-2000s didn't have the patience or attention span to deal with a slow-burner film.
So, putting all the acting flaws and lunacy aside, the original was the scarier and more shocking of the two Wicker Man's.

“Not the bees!” does make sense it context. Nicolas Cage’s character (Edward Malus) is allergic to bees, so that why he was screaming about the bees.
Nicolas Cage’s character punching women in a bear suit is just from the screenwriter, Neil LaBute, who has a reputation for misogyny in his work. Certainly this movie didn’t dispel that notion.
The killing of the pilot does make sense that now Nicolas Cage‘s character has no way to escape the island, so he can be part of the human sacrifice.
I mean those women were taking part in human sacrifice sooo it was kinda warranted
Except having both cage and the pilot dissappear at the same time is likely to arouse suspicion.

The original film, while having a twist no one saw coming, was overall simplistic. It's like they saw that and said let's make this more complex and didn't think it through.
I have heard rumors that it was intended as a comedy but the executives thought it was ruining the legacy of original so the re cut it. But that's just a rumor. But then again, considering he was squaring up against the entire village, and they already cut it to be PG-13, I think it has some merit

The original wasn't even super gruesome to begin with so Idk why the filmmakers decided to include some grisly scenes.
I could just see the bee incident being in Tales From the Crypt in another universe. "Not the bees! Not the bees! Arggh!" Crypt Keeper: "Hee Hee Hee! Well kiddies, I think he will 'bee' late for work! He couldn't 'bear' the stings! His 'honey' will sure miss him!"

It's a scene before the Bee Torture scene, but also while the cult leader lady is explaining things - and it's very not clear because they're in different clothes - the mom, doll throwing girl, AND HIS GIRL COP FRIEND are also there alive and well and step out as the leaders says everything was planned.

I remember seeing this in the theater on a date when it first came out when I was around 17-18. I remember HATING it and being mad that I wasted my time and money going to see it.

I can't believe that I'm laughing so much at two guys laughing their heads off reviewing a hilariously bad movie, of course the jokes you both made were funny as well. Particularly the joke at the very end with James Franco saying, "Ahhhh! No! Not the teens! She's not the teens! Ahhhhhhh!" That one had me rolling on the floor. But somehow, just you two laughing really hard automatically makes me laugh. This was the funniest movie review I have ever seen, and you two are natural comedians. Love from the UK.
