Fantastic video! I love what you had to say about the 2021 class with green and Sengun. Only flaw is that they are on the same team. I got back into collecting in 2021. I have a huge Sengun/Green PC. TPot just made me feel a lot better. Thanks for the data!
Another outstanding video! Man I have been watching your content for quite sometime now, and as to date, this is my absolute favorite channel I love to watch on TH-cam! Thank you Tea Pot! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
10:20 Follow the hype herd is so true. I didn’t want to believe it for so long, but that is one of the biggest drivers in prices. Great point.
I agree with most of this but Scottie Barnes made a big leap this year even made the allstar team. A lot of upside Rj played better in Toronto too
I think there has to be something in here about durability/build. Chet Holmgren is getting hit because he's "too skinny", and that affects perceptions about his durability, which means this could affect longevity, which could drive value. Obviously you can't control injuries, but you can at least think about susceptibility to wear and tear over time.
Great point
so basically jalen green
Good info, can you do one on baseball?
Trying to find investable NBA players is like trying to find bigfoot. 😂😂😂 all this modern garbage is going to be worthless in the future. Mass produced toilet paper.
Cam Thomas has proved alot of people wrong this year and he will continue to get better. Totaly wrong about him.
I like Jalen Johnson from the Atlanta Hawks …. His PPG went up 10.4 from 22-23 to 23-24 Season and could be over 20 PPG next season
People buying Anthony Edwards are going to regret big time. Nuggets coming back to win that series
That ain’t happening though. The nuggets ain’t coming back and Anthony edwards is a great long term hold
Doubt the nuggets are coming back, but there will be a better time to buy Edwards.
@@cardguy20 probably will be but either way Edwards is a great hold long term. He is the face the league
@@BigDirtDawg he has a chance to be the face of the league and is my favorite player to watch but Wemby has an equal chance.
I'm here from the future with bad news
What are you thoughts on Sexton? Believe he's going to have a big year 7
Lot of opinion baked in as well here. The Boston Celtic team driving prices higher for Tatum and Luka collectors not letting the price drop? Those and others and pretty big assumptions that have nothing to do with your data. If you are going to liken yourself to being data driven then leave your opinion out of it.
A player's chances of winning championship affect card prices. Tatum's prices stay high because the Celtics are guaranteed to make Conference Finals/Finals every year.
Great info and great video, thanks T- Pott!

If your looking at cards as an investment (other than for simply diversifying and possible injury), why would you invest in anyone other than Wembanyama? Or Lebron.
It would be nice if you had a segment that did not look at the "currency" prizm cards but rare 1/1s, golds, galactics, genesis, patches etc. by players and class. It strikes me that this is where you can make money with nearly any decent player over time because niche collectors, maybe local to the team, develop around them who do not want to transact or possess dozens of highly printed issues. Also, why are are you still featuring outlier, supposed sales as the benchmark (i.e. $1600 for Ant) when the 20 before that were for around $400-450. Knowing also that the market will literally be flooded with ANT gem silvers in a few weeks. You must be smarter than that. Also, no diss on your guy Brunson, who epitomizes gritty, but the Knicks are going nowhere now that Double A is guarding him and with such a small, beat up rotation. The two games they took in NY, particularly the first... you saw the refs.
Good stuff!!👍😎
Great Video
Yeah but Tatum been to ECF, and Finals…
Idk second round picks can be value buys, Jokic, Draymond, Brunson, 8-10 years? Idk
It's hard to predict, which 2nd round picks will make a name for their self. A generational player like Nikola Jokic, drafted in, the 2nd round is, quite rare. Even number 1 picks can be a bust. Kwame Brown, Anthony Bennett, Michael Olowokandi, Joe Smith, Markelle Fultz, among others.
1:40 oleeeee T-Pot! love the third person reference 😂
😅😅
love the research, good to see it on paper
Thanks for watching!
CAN WE PLEASE GET A VIDEO ABOUT THE NEW TREND OF RAW CARDS SELLING MORE THAN PSA 9’s. I’m mainly talking about football cards but not sure how the other sports are.
Maybe 8s but not 9s. I check this a lot bc I mainly buy raw cards. A PSA 8 sometimes sells less than a good raw but I can't remember seeing a PSA 9 selling less. Maybe, but it would depend on the card.
D White and Josh Hart are in that sweet spot for me. Enough opportunity for both teams + each player can go out and make a huge play to deep in the playoffs.
There was a year or two when White was with the Spurs that his cards flourished. Haven’t seen much return since he joined the Celtics. I think Tatum and Brown suck all the air out of the room for Celtics collectors.
Can you do this for the NFL and MLB please?
You really shouldn’t use more than three variables.
Haliburton advanced stats off the charts damn
Awesome video always super informative
Videos like this is why Ty makes the best sports cards videos on TH-cam
Thank you!
Fox 🦊 is still improving.
Sengun is a buy. He’s a straight up beast
What an amazing sportscard entertainer
God bless you great video!
Who should I be buying right now?
No one, unfortunately.
Will Grier and Desmond Ridder
Jordan and Lebron.
Your take on Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett is so off base - its clear you didnt watch many of his games.
I see
I don't think he's too off base. But time will tell.
is GG Jackson for real or his just a numbers guy on a bad team
Numbers guy on bad team and he won’t get a opportunity to do it again next season unless Grizzlies have the same bad injury luck
GG jackson is a buy for real!
@@Jumpsh0tzGG definitely has that potential and it factor in his game…It could be scary if Ja and GG learn how to play together at a high level and win.
@@jeffreytang3694 Most likely won't happen as GG is probably the 5th or 6th best player on his own team, unless injuries strike like last yr
GG Jackson is pretty much Cam Thomas. Maybe worth a flier. But not someone that I would ''invest'' in.
Buying Ja Morant low now, is your best bet on a potential one year flip. Buy Lebron now for a 10 year hold.
Hey man, don’t tell everyone, I need a few more Ja cards first! I totally agree with you on this though!
Solid analysis! The only player I think you're wrong on is Scottie Barnes...but maybe cause it's my hometown bias 😂
Collectors do have things they care about in basketball besides PPG. Things like defense matter insofar as they lead to players like Tatum and SGA having better teams, better MVP finishes, and better all NBA results. Tatum will have been on four all NBA teams after this season, with two or three first team appearances. Fox and Mitchell will have two All-NBA awards between them. Similar concepts apply to the other comparisons being made here.
Collectors might care, but defensive players card prices do not reflect that. 😊
