It's December 2024 and I hoped to make some purse charms to give for Christmas gifts. I was struggling with making the loops .After watching your video I'm going to purchase One Step Looper. Thanks
I got this tool about a year ago from Joann's Craft & Fabric Store, and it has become my favorite ever since. I would label this tool as a "must-have", as it is definitely one of the most useful pieces I own. Before I got this tool, my loops were pathetic and always mismatched sizes/shapes. It used to take quite a bit of extra time, as well. I appreciate how perfectly uniform this tool makes every loop and how easy and fast it is to use. It really does work in just one single step with no other tools or extra effort required. It can be found in most craft stores/departments and its easy to find for a reasonable price- another reason to love it.
I bought one of these when they first came out, and the patent was still pending. They only had one size, but that was OK. I struggled to make a decent loop however because it seemed like they would never fully close. Now I understand why that happens so I use it much more often. It doesn’t close fully so that you can slide a jump ring in there and then you close it because you’re going to need a jump ring for anything you’re going to connect it to.
Thanks so much for your video on using this tool to make single loops and connectors. I searched for awhile to find a video on making connectors and yours is so easy to follow and very clear. Thanks for the tip on directing the wire clippings to the container as well. I have this tool but haven't used it much up to this point but now I can use it with confidence.
Omg I gotta get this tool! I haven't made jewelry in a few years and it's been a STRUGGLE for me to make loops again. I didn't even know this tool existed lol.
thank you in explaining. bought mine, 1.5mm a few months ago and today, just now used it for the first time. LUV it!! gonna be so much easier to make my loops..😁
Thank you sooooo much! I was having an issue w some of the loops turning into a shank, and your tip about making sure the wire is in the middle corrected my issue! And I love the little trash bin idea. ❤
I hate making loops, but I bought this tool ages ago and forgot all about till now, I now have to go and find it. I'm blaming dementia, but in truth its cos I have too much stuff.
I have never seen this before. Definately need to look into getting one. I hate using all 3 tools for my head pins. If I can use one tool with just a regular wire that would be a huge time saver
I just got one of these today, and even though I'm lining the bead up to that ridge, the loops are still coming out too long/too far away from the bead!
You can open them up like you would with a jump ring with 2 pliers and then attach, then close it together. If your not sure how to open a jump ring with pliers, you can search on TH-cam. It's easier to show you than explain in words.
I was a bit confused and now I'm going to give it another go, thank you!! ^^ also quick question you say you use 20 gauge wire, what hardness do you buy? because I see a lot that say "dead soft" etc and I don't know what hardness I'm supposed to get. Thank you for your help!
I'm really wasn't sure which is best. I know dead soft may be ok for making loops for earrings but you may want half hard for making necklace or bracelet links. I found an article that should help answer your questions: www.gempacked.com/blog/wire-wrapping-101-should-i-use-soft-half-hard-or-hard-wire/
I love the tool, but it’s just to wide to grip with your hands, I just wish it wasn’t so wide trying to get your hands around it, I have to squeeze the looper tool just a little to get my hands around it, so if you have small hands this will be frustrating, but it works. Getting the bead at the right spot was a learning curve, but once you practice a few times it works great.
You can use more than one size. Somewhere around 18-22 gauge. It depends on the hardness of the metal you are using and how sturdy do you need the loops. For example, stainless steel will be more sturdy than copper so u will need a thicker wire for copper. And loops for a bracelet (that might get banged up a lot) will need to be more sturdy than loops for earrings.
It just depends what size you want the loops to be. I'm using the 1.5mm and I feel like those loops are a good size for those beads. 1.5mm is the diameter of the loop, so the 2.5 Looper will have a diameter of 2.5mm.
Sure, you can use the link in my description or this one here: amzn.to/34mxTpQ I purchased the 1.5mm loop. It makes a small loop for jewelry making. There are also other 1 step loopers that will make larger loops such as 2.25 or 3mm. It just depends on how big you want the loops.
Morning ma'am l like yr loops but really would like to ask u if l can't ask can't others this by u can't find it in south Africa if u can't sent me the address were can't other it pls
I'm sorry, I purchased mine through Amazon. I don't know a place that sells it that ships to South Africa. My best suggestion is to Google "beadsmith 1 step looper" and see if you can find anyone selling it that ships to your country.
Thank you for commenting. It takes some practice. I understand, if I need the loop to be very close to the bead then sometimes I have to do a little extra work.
Like they say, practice makes perfect. Or it could be you might need to try a different hobby. Just a suggestion. Thanks for the tutorial it really helped me. Now I'm like your niece, she must be a natural. 🥰

I've used it for a couple of years now and it's a game changer.
Letting your niece use your looper tool to help is awesome
Yes she loves helping anyway she can with my business whenever we see each other. I'm sure it also has something do with me paying her 😆!
Yes, I have one and it makes rosary chain style necklace making SO much faster! I love it, worth the price for me.
Nice video. I just started using it, and it takes practice. I like non-uniform loops for some things, but I really love uniform loops. 😊
I've owned the looper for a couple of years and what a lifesaver. I use it for headpins, eyepins, and wire. There r 3 sizes of loopers and I have 2.
That's great! So you know how awesome it is!

Yes, this makes sense. I just started using mine, and it definitely takes a little practice. 😊
Omg thank you so so much for this tutorial! You really helped me figure out how to use the looper and now I’m a pro at it! Lol☺️❤️
You're welcome! I'm so glad it helped!

Thank you for the tutorial and especially on making the connectors.
I have all 3 sizes and I love them saves so much wear and tear on hands and saves time too.
thank you in explaining. bought mine, 1.5mm a few months ago and today, just now used it for the first time. LUV it!! gonna be so much easier to make my loops..😁
Thank you for posting this. I have the exact same looper and your guidance helps me make better loops!
Just bought one n don’t know how to use it. So glad I saw your video
I've just bought one to help make my rosary bead making faster.
Yes it will definitely help make rosaries faster!
Thank you. I always reference back to your video.
Glad to hear that! I'm glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial

Yes I think you will really like it!

How do you do anything with those nails? I would be scratching everything i touch or catch myself in a plier. lols😉
Lol! They can be a challenge sometimes.
Cool!
Just bought mine but it hasn't been cutting any wires. Do you think mine may just be defective?
After you have made your beads from the looper, how do you attach them to make bracelets or necklaces
You can open them up like you would with a jump ring with 2 pliers and then attach, then close it together. If your not sure how to open a jump ring with pliers, you can search on TH-cam. It's easier to show you than explain in words.

Hello, what thickness of wire do you use in this 1.5mm?
You can use more than one size. Somewhere around 18-22 gauge. It depends on the hardness of the metal you are using and how sturdy do you need the loops. For example, stainless steel will be more sturdy than copper so u will need a thicker wire for copper. Im new to this, what size looper to use on 8mm and 4mm beads. Thanks
It just depends what size you want the loops to be. I'm using the 1.5mm and I feel like those loops are a good size for those beads. 1.5mm is the diameter of the loop, so the 2.5 Looper will have a diameter of 2.5mm.
I have one of just tried it out and get used to rent an hour how to work it
I want one. How do you know what size to buy?
Sure, you can use the link in my description or this one here: amzn.to/34mxTpQ I purchased the 1.5mm loop. It makes a small loop for jewelry making. There are also other 1 step loopers that will make larger loops such as 2.25 or 3mm. It just depends on how big you want the loops.
@@YarnNecklaces, what size are the commercial pre made eye pins that I buy in packs at, say, Walmart or a craft store? Thanks!
Donde puedo comprar??
2.5mm is the best
Is that the one that matches most of the commercial eye pins?
How do you connect the "connectors"
You can use jewelry tools. I don't have a video on how to connect the loops but I'm sure you can find something on TH-cam.
I was using it all wrong. Thank you. Lol
i cant get t to work
Not for small hands.
Actually my 10 year old niece loves it and is able to work it really well.
I have small hands and it is a bit hard to use

Makes very sloppy loops with too much wire showing. Loops do not close correctly. Extra work needed.
Thank you for commenting. It takes some practice. I understand, if I need the loop to be very close to the bead then sometimes I have to do a little extra work.
@@YarnNecklaces What is the extra work you do to get the loop close to the bead? No matter what I try, nothing works
@@carollogan6772 sometimes you will need to use your jewelry pliers to get it all the way closed or lined up correctly.
@@YarnNecklaces I have the same problem. Cannot get the loops to sit tightly against my beads.
Like they say, practice makes perfect. Or it could be you might need to try a different hobby. Just a suggestion. Thanks for the tutorial it really helped me. Now I'm like your niece, she must be a natural. 🥰
Im worried of ur nails 😢
No need to worry my nails are pretty strong 💪 😁
Thats a waste of wire.
Haters got to hate.
