Fun Fact: The ENTIRE cast at the time gathered around that open field to watch the Rick-Shane scene because they knew what would go down and wanted to see with their own eyes.
I know you guys might be joking about it but, yeah. They we're letting their emotions out on the walker for losing dale to one. Just senselessly beating one regardless of being able to kill it quickly. Dale had to suffer, so they wanted one of them to suffer, even if the walker may not feel it personally.
Carl raised his gun when he saw Shane start moving. Shane’s mistake was forgetting Daryl is a master tracker. His plan would have never worked had he went through with it.
@@trizard3940 Yeah, in spite of the fact that he was looking for them those first couple of episodes, working so hard to find them, once he did, he was all out for helping anyone that he could, even to the expense of the group. But he got better at looking after his family as time went on.

That last scene between Rick and Shane has always been one of my favorites. You can just feel the tension rise more and more right up till they get to the field. Can't wait to see yalls reaction to the season finale
I've been waiting for this one!! So much great stuff here. RIP Shane, he sure was a wild one. Poor rick had to kill his best bud... Absolutely heartbreaking. Carl showing up in the end always really fucks me up... Awesome reaction!! Cant wait for the next one.
Still to this day both Dale’s death and Shane’s death were the first character deaths to hit me hard Dale being the voice of reason and the moral compass in the group and all about having humanity is what’s right for us as human beings one of my favourites and Shane Rick’s best friend and right hand man until Daryl stepped up when he had to put down Dale Shane was another one of my favourites yeah I understand why Shane had to die was never suppose to happen but he had to I can tell that deep down Rick didn’t wanna kill his best friend but he had to Shane lost his mind there was no way out of that I just wish that they coulda worked things out and made up but sadly Rick killing Shane had to happen I’m sure this is gonna have a big impact on the group especially Rick because deep down he cared for him to this day I still miss Dale and Shane.
no cuz fr the scene at the barn where shane opens the barn for the walkers to come out, rick is yelling and calling shane, "brother" and for him to stop and then we start to notice little by little when rick starts to look at daryl for decisions or if he agrees with them
Rick was at the time of his death and hallucinated the people he failed. Shane is the first person Rick actually wanted to apologize to or talk to, deep down, the only thing Rick wanted In fact it was his brother and official best friend shane walsh with him.
Shane was batshit crazy since the apocalypse started. He was getting worse every few days😂 telling others by his actions he wanted power or control. He had to go or he would have killed anyone in his way or who he felt his paranoia had him believing wanted power or control. He believed he should be in charge, period! He made Lori and Carl his family. He almost beat Carol’s husband to death. He killed Otis He killed Randall He was going to kill Rick
Loris last conversation with Shane really fucked him up. He called Lori a broken woman and Carl said he was damaged. "And you don't have a clue how to fix it." I think Shane believed that he was the only one that could keep Lori and Carl saved. And in one way, Shane was ahead of Rick at this point. Shane had toyed with the idea of killing Rick before. When Dale saw it.Shane wanted to be the leader and when Rick came back he ruined it for him. It didn't last long. This ending was inevitable
Just because the Walking Dead characters don't know what a zombie is doesn't mean we don't. You can say zombie, they don't because the writer of the comics didn't want them to because that implies they already know about shooting them in the head, don't get bit, etc.
Little Comic Comparison here Carl shooting Shane zombified was a similarity to the comic because in the comics Shane was already dead by this point in the comics Shane is killed pretty quickly just before they left the Atlanta camp Shane tries to kill Rick but then Carl shoots Shane dead alive saving Rick it’s great that TV Shane outlived his comic counterpart but it’s sad that we lost a great character I thought Jon Bernthal did a great job playing the role as Shane the actor went on to do different things I followed the actor after he was killed off here he went on to be in great movies and I loved him as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Marvel’s Netflix shows Daredevil Season 2 and The Punisher He mighta been an asshole at the end but deep down he’s still a human being that cared about Rick and the group i still miss Shane.
Its kinda hard to see shane almost come back but fall into madness. He was definitely an S teir character for the amount of good and impact he has as a character. Wish he would have lived till at least s3 or 4 and die around there also he didn't want to kill rick he but he thought he had to. In a couple parts where u see shanes face it looks like hes about to cry and he even nods his head yes a bit when rick offers to go back to the farm. He also holds ricks hand just before he dies showing he still loves rick.

Rip to Shane, one of the best characters of twd. Would have loved to have seen a different story like where him and Rick made amends and lead together.
Shane was actually supposed to die much earlier. In the comics he dies at the Atlanta Camp shortly after Rick finds his wife and son. Shane gets crazy about killing Rick much sooner Carl just shows up and shoots Shane. Rick didn't kill Shane in the comics, Carl did. Even the time spent at the farm was originally a lot shorter but they stayed on the farm longer in the show and dragged out the Rick and Shane drama cause they had limited funding for the show at the time. Season 3 is when the show gets really popular.
If you pay attention to his verbiage in that scene Shane clearly just wanted to die at this point and baited Rick into killing him Jon Bernthal even wanted a reveal that Shane’s gun was empty the whole time.
He may have "wanted" it that way, but that was certainly not the case. Shane's gun was NOT empty and I don't buy for a second that he really just wanted Rick to kill him.
Fantastic reaction! I was super excited to see how you two handled Shane's death. The next episode is WILD. I cannot freaking wait for you to post it 💜🖤💜

Well, there is a game coming out in November of 2023 called "The Walking Dead Destinies" where you can change the characters fates. For example, Shane doesn't die and Rick dies instead. Them kicking the walker in the beginning can have a lot of different meanings. For one theyre taking out their anger. Second, theyre showing how from now on they arent gonna be broken anymore, theyll work together now as a group. 3rd, its shkwing how far they came, how broken tbey were before over tragedies, and they were all so scared.
