One of the best season finales I've ever seen, it's interesting to see how Rick starts the episode confident and he slowly goes more lost and start being afraid of the saviors and what the group were going through
6x16 and 7x1 were an experience that could never be replicated in TWD live action universe and to me (and millions of watchers) its when the show peaked, that affirmation still holds up to this day, spin offs included, that dosnt mean there werent other great episodes or arcs here and there after wards, but noone can deny everything changed after these 2 episodes. In comparison, the comic simply kept getting better and improving upon itself. With some hiccups every once in a while.
Completely agreed. While I think the later seasons of the show are pretty underrated, it never got better than this. The comics are more consistent overall.
35:36 I know exactly how you’re feeling and I remember feeling the same way when I first saw this. It’s really the first time we’ve seen our group actually totally helpless and no control of the situation. It’s a real gut punch
Loving ur reactions to the best show ever! Seeing Rick so scared and defeated was hard! This new enemy is a force and way underestimated. RIP Abe and Glen, what a tremendous loss to the group and the show!! Rick's acting was top notch and so believable
don’t forget about the reenactments, shadows and refraction of light on images to try and figure out who negan hit. my fav was the lego reenactment. that took a lot of love and was awesome.

It's interesting to see the parallels between Maggie and Sasha. Both lost their siblings around the same time. Both struggled to move on especially Sasha who was having a harder time than her since she lost Bob and Tyreese. Maggie stood by Sasha's side and tried to help her move forward. Now, they both lost their lovers at the same time. We can see Maggie wants blood but can't right now cuz they're outnumbered. So we see Sasha take her turn to stand by Maggie's side this time around and be strong and there for her because of the baby on the way. Both are at a loss, hurting and for sure wanting Negan and all his Saviors dead. It'll be interesting to see how both Sasha and Rosita will deal with the loss of Abraham since they both loved him very much. RIP Glenn and Abraham. This one hurt. ALOT. I sobbed like a baby. When commercials came on, that's when I took the time to compose myself and throw some water on my face, breathe and get back and continue watching it. Effing Negan.
these two episodes were the worst experience of my life 😭😂 the cliffhanger and the waiting .. i remember watching the season 7 premiere when it aired and they had the entire cast in the talking dead after .. plus they had like an outside viewing of the episode that everyone sat out in the rain to watch 😂 i didn’t handle these episodes well at all and i still don’t
Rick knew they were screwed after the walker chainlink, holding Michones dread looking at the bullet holes torn through the RV realizing how vulnerable they were and understanding they were only shooting at their feet
I don't know if you noticed the foreshadow that happened when Glenn looked at the pictures of those dead bodies on the wall when he first killed at The Outpost. Effectively Glenn was looking at his own death. Also if you go back to season 5 he held a baseball bat in his hands so they was teasing this for at least two seasons. and yall did a good job not overly talking about other situations when important dialogue is going on. So you can understand a particular scene when it happens
You have no idea how long I've been waiting for negan. Ever since the governor, I wanted to say "you think the governor is bad... wait till u see negan." I cried when Abraham died and mostly Glenn cz he was the first person rick met in season 1. I love the badass introduction but it was just heart breaking.😓😭😭🥰
You needed to be there when it first aired. The hype was crazy. All the theories, the talks about the show, the people pissed at AMC and Scott Gimple. Everyone was coming up with its own theory for who died. And they just kept teasing us in the beginning of the season 7 premiere but also half of the trailer for this season was eenie miny moe with flashbacks and music building up, the other half was showing the rest of season 7 without showing any of the characters from the line up. Really a crazy moment. That was awesome to live through
Say hello to my favorite character! You love him, right? I've waited so long for this. Fun fact, the title is that last episode is "the day will come when you won't be" that's what the CDC scientist said to Rick when Rick said he was grateful to him for giving them a chance to live. This is the day Rick just wished he would've died.
This was my first ever episode of TWD. Just imagine.. I was blown away. Got hooked instantly. Of course I had to start watching the entire series, to see who wrre these persons. So I did it. Like 10 times. Plus lots of reactions. 😅
My journey mirrors yours, but my series was Game Of Thrones. My first episode, my first scene, was The Red Wedding. After that, I never missed an episode.
My theory on why they chose to kill Abraham is they only allow one character with epic one liners at a time and it would have been too epic of a one liner show down between Negan and Abraham. So much so everyone would forget the zombies and other arcs since it would just be an infinity-dick battle
plus, it’s a classic takedown. you always aim for the strongest in the group to eliminate, to scare the crap out of the remaining ppl so they’ll think twice about retaliation.
Lemme just say Carl is a fucking G after this episode. The scene in the RV with him saying to Aaron "I owe THEM" I believe that was in reference to either Denise saving him & him avenging her or, more likely, Maggie & her family because of them saving Carl on the farm a year & a half ago. Also, Maggie is around or less than 2 months at this point I believe. Carl at the end there being the one to help Maggie up & embrace her just reinforces the bond between the 2 of them even though I feel it's incredibly underrated. First her being the one to bring Lori & the group to Hershel’s farm after he got shot, then him losing Sophia & Maggie losing her mom & brother out of the barn Shane broke open, the shared trauma of Lori’s sacrifice, losing Hershel, losing Beth, both of them being SA’ed, & Carl gifting Maggie a music box to remind her of Beth’s singing 😭. He volunteered because he owes the Greene family his life & she is the last living member of that family ❤️ Time for recovery gentlemen, you guys got this!
Here's a comment I left regarding what Chance said in your reaction to season 5 episode 9: "I would want a baseball bat, I would add extra shit to it". Some foreshadowing for a later season. That's all I'm going to say." And here's a comment I left on season 6 episode 12: "Remember those bloody horrific pictures on the wall in the saviors bedroom. In an upcoming episode, I'm going to be bringing up this comment I'm leaving now as well as another one that I left on an episode back in season 5 regarding something that Chance said."
@@ritasworld6345 No, Chance's statement in that reaction was just "I would want a baseball bat, I would add extra shit to it." I was the one who commented in that video about how that's a foreshadow for later on.
Comic Comparisons for Episode 16 : In the comics the group goes to Hilltop for sole purpose of getting Maggie Glenn and Sophia (she is still alive at this point in the comics Glenn and Maggie took care of her after Carol committed suicide) After Dwight’s attack on Alexandria Glenn and Maggie agreed Hilltop would be a safer place for both them and Sophia and the group decides to escort them There’s no pregnancy complication. The roadblocks don’t happen in the comics The group stops for the night and that’s when The Saviors grab them There’s no kidnapping other members or putting their belongings on display Eugene doesn’t try to cause a distraction. Morgan and Carol’s whatever it was doesn’t happen in the comics because neither of them are alive at this point. Negan’s entrance in the show is damn near for line as in the comics save for in the comics Negan uses a considerable amount of F-Bombs and various other curses which you can hear on the Blu Ray DVD and it’s the uncensored version The eeny-meeny-miney-moe is one of the most iconic scene in TWD history This episode is damn near flawless and this arc is gonna bring the best one liners and badass moments of the entire show.
You guys are doing this part of the series justice because this is how season 6 should've ended instead of the cliffhanger AMC threw at us 😂 People were super pissed at this, too, making us wait half a year. But was fun though playing the the speculation game.
Honestly, Negan was lenient. If a lot of other people were in his position, they would have just killed Rick and his entire group on sight rather than capture them, and kill two.
I don’t even think it’s about how many he killed it’s about how he went about it making jokes after brutally bashing a father and someone who wanted to be a fathers heads in, in front of their partner
Negans a great villain because he realized killing everyone would be a waste of time and resources . From the moment he had them lined up he never wanted to kill all of them he just wanted to set an example and break Rick (and have his own way of fun too) people do often forget saviors attacked Rick’s group first prior to the outpost so you could argue to outpost massacre was just retaliation for that too
@@getaloadofthisguy2927No it wasn’t retaliation lol, because the Saviors didn’t kill or even injure a single one of Rick’s group at that point…so how the fuck is it retaliation to kill like 50 Saviors lol
Since Daryl isn’t in the comics, they just take Glenn out here & Maggie IS pissed at Rick for not doing anything, not like he could’ve, & she beats his ass & Carl tries to pull her off & then Sophia (Glenn/Maggie adopted her after Carol offed herself at the prison) like bit him or some shit & told him to leave her “mom” alone 😂
the episode title “the day will come when you won’t be” is a call back to what jenner said at the cdc when rick told him he was grateful for letting them leave

Wow, this is gonna be great. I've been waiting for this for a while
6x16 and 7x1 were an experience that could never be replicated in TWD live action universe and to me (and millions of watchers) its when the show peaked, that affirmation still holds up to this day, spin offs included, that dosnt mean there werent other great episodes or arcs here and there after wards, but noone can deny everything changed after these 2 episodes.
In comparison, the comic simply kept getting better and improving upon itself. With some hiccups every once in a while.
Very well put. Agree completely
I do think season 9's build up to its ending is actually better but I mostly agree here.
Agreed. Side note - Comic Carl is a badass.
Pikes.
Rick's acting was top notch and so believable
my guys great reaction. simon is played by Steven Ogg who actually IS trevor in gta 5, he voiced the character!
6 months of waiting. Fans brought out graphs and charts just to see blood on Rick face. Yes, fans were waiting for your reaction
don’t forget about the reenactments, shadows and refraction of light on images to try and figure out who negan hit. my fav was the lego reenactment. that took a lot of love and was awesome.
@@samanthanickson6478 true that
That is Trevor from GTA
Came here to say that 😅
You guys rocking out to the theme music cracked me up and made my day. It was totally infectious and I had to join in….laughing and smiling the whole time. It’s great to see your joy and anticipation for another episode of my favourite show of all time! Thanks guys, hello from Australia and have a fantastic day ❤
The guy that sounds like Trevor from GTA is Trevor Steven ogg is his real name
Such an emotional episode, peak tv
Bye bye Glenn and Abraham you 2 were amazing
Effing Negan.
i never noticed that parallel :0 so interesting. thanks for sharing!
That's one of my favorite friendships on the show, they truly are there for each other always. They really are best friends/sisters.
Sasha calling Abraham on his bullshit made him see life differently, he could see a future instead of just “living check to check”
these two episodes were the worst experience of my life 😭😂 the cliffhanger and the waiting .. i remember watching the season 7 premiere when it aired and they had the entire cast in the talking dead after .. plus they had like an outside viewing of the episode that everyone sat out in the rain to watch 😂 i didn’t handle these episodes well at all and i still don’t
If y’all didn’t notice in the dinner scene u can see Sasha is pregnant like her and abe talk about before he goes
Rick knew they were screwed after the walker chainlink, holding Michones dread looking at the bullet holes torn through the RV realizing how vulnerable they were and understanding they were only shooting at their feet
Fun fact: When they cast were crying..... They were legit crying. That was not acting.
Its still acting to make yourself cry for a scene…any good actors can make themselves cry for a scene its common practice lol
"that remiunds me of trevor from gta 5 " :) yes that is the same actor played masterfully by steven ogg
That guy at the library Morgan cut down didn’t hang himself, he was hung during the Saviors raid
just so u know the negan actor plays as the comedian in Watchmen if you’ve seen that
The actor that plays Negan's right hand man Simon is played by Steven Ogg who did the voice and mocap for Trevor Phillips in GTA 5
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, no pun intended, killed it in this role, I think he's my favorite villain of all time from anything I've seen with a villain
Everything you know about The Walking Dead is about to change forever
The day Rick stopped being grateful
No Matter what you guys keep going til the end all the way to the very last episode no matter what.
That was awesome to live through
That guy you said sounded like Trevor from GTA 5, that is the guy who voiced Trevor
Negan is played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, he was Batmans Dad, also in Supernatural, Greys anatomy, Watchmen
That shot of Glen eye socket straight from the comics I love it 😁
Oh no. How are we already here. This first half of the show flew by. Lol
Love how Rick tries stopping Eugene and Aaron but knows Carl has that dog in him
Say hello to my favorite character! You love him, right? I've waited so long for this.
Fun fact, the title is that last episode is "the day will come when you won't be" that's what the CDC scientist said to Rick when Rick said he was grateful to him for giving them a chance to live. This is the day Rick just wished he would've died.
I REALLY hope y'all dont stop watching this show because of these few episodes lol i loved the series all the way through and i think y'all would too
This was my first ever episode of TWD.
Whatever you guys do, and we know how hard this was to watch...but don't give up on the show. The best writing is yet to come.
He volunteered because he owes the Greene family his life & she is the last living member of that family ❤️
Time for recovery gentlemen, you guys got this!
Here's a comment I left regarding what Chance said in your reaction to season 5 episode 9:
"I would want a baseball bat, I would add extra shit to it". Some foreshadowing for a later season. That's all I'm going to say."
And here's a comment I left on season 6 episode 12:
"Remember those bloody horrific pictures on the wall in the saviors bedroom. In an upcoming episode, I'm going to be bringing up this comment I'm leaving now as well as another one that I left on an episode back in season 5 regarding something that Chance said."
Yes I noticed he said that too
So he knew about this all along?
@@ritasworld6345 good question
@@ritasworld6345 No, Chance's statement in that reaction was just "I would want a baseball bat, I would add extra shit to it." I was the one who commented in that video about how that's a foreshadow for later on.
It’s so stupid to leave comments like that.
The reason Simon reminds you of GTAV's Trevor is cus that IS Trevor (Steven Ogg) He doesnt like being credited as Trevor anymore tho
When this aired I took off work the next day 🥺
Comic Comparisons for Episode 16 : In the comics the group goes to Hilltop for sole purpose of getting Maggie Glenn and Sophia (she is still alive at this point in the comics Glenn and Maggie took care of her after Carol committed suicide) After Dwight’s attack on Alexandria Glenn and Maggie agreed Hilltop would be a safer place for both them and Sophia and the group decides to escort them There’s no pregnancy complication.
Things were less hopeless in the comics.
I freakin love Steven Oggs character in this show. He has come a long way since GTA V.
You guys are doing this part of the series justice because this is how season 6 should've ended instead of the cliffhanger AMC threw at us 😂 People were super pissed at this, too, making us wait half a year. But was fun though playing the the speculation game.
These 2 back to back episodes gave me anxiety when it first came out back in 2016. Negative scared the crap out of me!
In this scene when Negan met Rick, I don't think I've ever seen Rick more terrified than ever
That being said he is still my 2nd favourite character in the series
Negans a great villain because he realized killing everyone would be a waste of time and resources . From the moment he had them lined up he never wanted to kill all of them he just wanted to set an example and break Rick (and have his own way of fun too) people do often forget saviors attacked Rick’s group first prior to the outpost so you could argue to outpost massacre was just retaliation for that too
I would. The fact they killed so many Saviours before proves they're dangerous, Negan took a big risk.
@@getaloadofthisguy2927No it wasn’t retaliation lol, because the Saviors didn’t kill or even injure a single one of Rick’s group at that point…so how the fuck is it retaliation to kill like 50 Saviors lol
It’s 7:00pm NZT, dinner is finished and dishes are done, I’m soooo ready for this!!! 😬😢
That guy you said sounds like Trevor from GTA, is Trevor from GTA.
You guys genuinely crack me tf up. My favorite TH-camrs for sure!
The Walking Dead Season 6 : Episode 16 finale
Season 7 : Episode 1 - Negan
Since Daryl isn’t in the comics, they just take Glenn out here & Maggie IS pissed at Rick for not doing anything, not like he could’ve, & she beats his ass & Carl tries to pull her off & then Sophia (Glenn/Maggie adopted her after Carol offed herself at the prison) like bit him or some shit & told him to leave her “mom” alone 😂
Don’t worry there’s another cool black guy coming lol
Negan make the governor look like a joke
I love y’all’s dance for the intro I feel the same way
Great reaction guys I loved your reaction this is the reaction I wanted to see for a long time
the episode title “the day will come when you won’t be” is a call back to what jenner said at the cdc when rick told him he was grateful for letting them leave
Negan in my book went from being that monster to one of my favorite characters
This scene still brings me to tears but they had to make them see who they were dealing w and boy did they
I love Glen and Abraham
But damn yall haven’t seen nothing yet!!!
“they rolled a 1” is the best description of these episodes 😂
Negan is easily the greatest Walking Dead villain, as well as one of the best Walking Dead characters period.
1:14:12 Morgan extinguishes or adjusts/touches 2 extiguished candles. Always loved that touch.
I watched this episode for the first time on my birthday
