    Thanks Tony, great review! I have a question: Can the Roland LX-708 also be used as a midi-controller? So, can it be used to connect via midi-cables to a computer to trigger a sound library? And can that be done live (in the moment) or can you also save a midi-file from your playing and feed that file later on to a computer sound library? Thanks and regards from Amsterdam The Netherlands

      It does have usb midi if you want to connect to a computer to play VSTs plus Bluetooth midi. No traditional midi inputs or outputs sadly.

    The Euro sounds far more authentic than the US one to me. But is this recorded with a mike or using the signal out? Makes a huge difference.

    Can the sound in this piano be tweaked/edited in order to get it brighter/cleaner/sharper like it is on the Yamaha CLP-785 (CFX sample)?
    In other words, is it possible to get on the Roland LX-708 exactly the same CFX sample sound that is built-in on the Yamaha CLP-785?

    Just a quick question... Let's suppose that for the prize you can buy acoustic upright descent piano... So, why to choose this among accusing? When you lose portability. What the main purpose is for digital pianos.

    • @bonnersmusic
      @bonnersmusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Digital pianos offer many convenient features such as silent practice with headphones, no ongoing maintenance costs (tuning etc), recording features, connectivity to other devices, amongst other things. Due to their lighter physical weight, digital pianos can also be easily installed in places where a traditional acoustic would not be possible. Both types of piano (digital & acoustic) have their advantages dependent upon the needs of the player & the environment.

      £3000 doesn't buy you much in an acoustic piano. You need to spend at least £5000 to get something ok. Unless I was spending £12,000, I'd get a top end digital. The Kawai Novus NV10 is very impressive (albeit not loud enough imo). I have a Kawai CS8 and it's amazing for the money.

    I just got the LX-17 few months ago... argh... how does the LX-708 compares to LX-17?

    • @bonnersmusic
      @bonnersmusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The LX708 is much taller at 1180mm than the LX17 being 1070mm. It also only comes in one unit weighing 110kg, meaning that moving it or taking it upstairs will be more difficult and the top and bottom do not separate like the LX17 that weighs 87kg in total. They have made changes to the Keyboard action, using the new Hybrid Grand action rather than the PHA-50. It also has 8 speakers rather than 6 giving a richer and more immersive sound along with the larger cabinet design. It is also compatible with the new Roland Piano Everyday App. You can check out all of the features and compare it with the LX17 on the Roland UK website. They will be arriving over the next month or so. If you would like to contact us direct on 01323 636140 we can let you know when the first display models arrive.
