To be honest they can add Kopa into the Lion King canon no problem. They clearly don't mind retcons like the Lion Guard or the magic roar, so why not add Kopa's story as the reason Simba was over protective of Kiara. Now with Disney Plus they can go a little more in depth and mature with stories and ideas. They can make it so Zira 'killed' Kopa when in actuality he was still alive but taken downstream in a nearby river, he's healed by someone but has amnesia with the exception of his name. They could make a Lion King 3 with Kopa's return as an adult, not sure on the antagonist but they could something with it. Maybe make it so Simba sacrifices himself to save Kopa, making him a parallel to Mufasa. The difference being he got to see his children grow to be mature adults during life, something taken from Mufasa by Scar. Kopa is offered the king title but refuses since he's still kinda new to the Pridelands technically. Also Kopa and Vitani get together, the story potential is too high to pass up.

Found it! I can clearly see Kopa in that card. The card game is made by Parker Brothers and licensed by Disney but we don't know if the manufacturer got the characters from Six New Adventures or if Disney gave them the guidelines. Very interesting point btw. Very few people noticed it.
I say Zira did kill Kopa in cold blood. Cause that pretty much explains why Simba was so overprotective of Kiara and hates Zira & the Outsiders (aside from the fact that they’re Scar’s followers)
Problem is, that whole Zira killed Kopa and get banished theory were explained in the lion guard, that she was banned for attacking simba, and it is official canon. So no Kopa, only Kiara and Kion. Bad storywriting anyway that kion roars them into the termite hills, after Kovu met Kiara first time.
The scene where Zira offers Kovu to Simba DOES have a reason behind it. It’s made pretty obvious that trespassing into the Pridelands results in death, which is exactly what Zira and Kovu were doing at that time, and Zira stood up for Kovu because he didn’t know, but knowing how adamant Simba is with tradition and punishment, she offered up Kovu anyway to see if he would really do it, even though she knew he absolutely could not

I think Kopa is canon, they just never mentioned or shown him. The cub at the end of the first movie was definitely not Kiara or Kion. My theory, is that Kopa survived Zira's attack, but lost his memory in the process, remembering only his name. Maybe he didn't recognize the mark but met kion anyway. Unless Kopa eventually did remember and no longer wanted anything to do with his past. Deciding it was better if everyone thought him dead. The pridelands wouldn't need him because of future queen Kiara, plus no longer feeling like he belonged there anymore. Who knows?
4:55- We do know why Zira offered Kovu's life to Simba in TLK 2. Right before this Simba told Zira, "You know the penalty for returning to the Pride Lands!" Zira replies with, "But the _child_ does *NOT* ! However, if you need your pound of flesh, here". She pushes Kovu towards Simba to offer Kovu's life. This is the penalty, death. That's why she does that. She knew Simba wouldn't kill a young cub.
Its not canon unfortunately, even though Kopa was apart of the stories, the stories where not 100% disney just signed by them. As for why it was diffrent, Lion king 2 wasent even being thought about at the time. So it just simply wasent planned.
The fact all 3 cubs start with a K (Kopa, Kiara, Kion) kinda sounds canon... plus the reason Simba banished Zira was she attacked ... maybe she attacked Kopa? ... This theory is probably wrong, and doesn’t fit very much with the story, but I just thought of it. Kopa was exploring one day, and he saw Vitani. He was skeptical of her at first, but she was very nice and funny, so he played with her. Nuka saw Vitani playing with Kopa, and he feared for her safety, because he knew Kopa was the son of Simba, and if Simba found out, he might kill her. (I feel like Vitani and Nuka has a very strong sibling bond.) So, he scared Kopa off by growling at him. Vitani was angry at him for a while, but soon she understood it was for her safety. One day, she saw Kopa again, and they talked. Nuka saw this, but he didn’t want to get in a fight with Vitani again, so he ran to get Zira. Kopa was telling Vitani that the outlanders were wrong, and he was trying to get her to come with him to the pridelands. Zira got angry when Vitani said she would think about it, so she intervened, roaring at Kopa. Simba heard what was going on, but when he got to where Kopa was, it was too late. Simba told Zira if she or any of her pride came back to the pridelands again, there would be trouble. Zira went back home with Vitani and Nuka. Vitani got angry at Nuka again and when Zira brought Kovu into the outlands, Vitani played with him a lot, often ignoring Nuka. But Kopa was jut in a coma, and he was still alive. He was scared, so he ran away from the pridelands. One day, he came back to the pridelands. But Nuka saw him. He was angry that Kopa was still alive, and had come back. The fought, and Nuka won, killing Kopa.
Vita your theory is almost correct but Simba never found Kopa and when Zira attacked Simba she told him she killed Kopa just to make him suffer. The last thing you got wrong is Nuka killing Kopa because Nuka was already dead when Kopa returned.

Actually kopas death would explain a lot of things about Simba's attitude and parenting style the death of a child is extremely traumatic for a parent and will make them more protective of their living children also it would explain his hatred for the outlanders and why they were excelled to the worst part of the pride lands

The Story of Kopa is awesome and would drive me to tears if shown as it is known, but I am sure Disney will never do that. It is way too brutal and traumatizing to think Disney would release it. If they release it, they would change it so much, that it isn't the same anymore.

I dont think there ever was a Kopa to begin with. Just because they drew the lion cub with a little hair on the head in the first movie doesnt mean that its a male. Its pretty obvious that its been Kiara from the beginning, only that they didn't decide on the gender in the first movie and when they decided it was to be a female they changed Kiaras looks without the hair on her head. There was never a Kopa it was just made up by fans. And simba is so protective of her because he knows Kiara is like him and is bound to get herself into danger like he did when he got hunted by the hyenas and when he lost his father and thought it was his fault.

I give the lion King two time lines, legends and Canon (kind of like star wars) Canon is the official timeline of the lion King films and the lion guard TV series. While legends is expanded universe content created by the fans before the lion guard show came out. So I would consider kopa to be legends but could be made Canon in the future
Kopa is Semi-Canon. So, technically, that would make Kopa still part of Canon, just on one half as defined by what Semi means. If the ones who directed The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride are not going to add Kopa into Canon and Disney, then someone else will have to, so that Kopa can have the kind of place in the Canon part of The Lion King Franchise that he deserves. It can take place in the timeline between The Lion King and The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, while the second half can then take place after the events of The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and The Lion Guard.

I have a book that tells the lion king 1 story and at the end when rafki got the cub it says “for joy as the future lion KING joined the great circle of life” but that could just say that because this movie is called the lion king and so is the second movie

I've just discovered this TV animated show, "The lion guard". And you don't understand, I'm obsessed. So here's my theory: Kopa gets attacked by Zira. Zira hurt him very badly so he got many bruises. It also made him get a mark of scratch right located at his arm. He was pretty unconscious and couldn't wake up. After his parents founding him, they cried and took the body. They thought he was dead but he wasn't. They took him to a cave and buried it. Everyone found about this in the Pride lands. It was a sad day. A year later, Kopa's parents decided to get a new cub. They named her Kiara. They didn't think it was enough for their family so they wanted to get a new cub again. They named it Kion. It was going great for them. Due to this, Kopa became the forgotten son of Simba. A new adventure started. -after seasons 1, 2, and 3- Kion founds about that mysterious cub in one of Rafiki's paintings in his family painting. Kion asks about it to Rafiki. Rafiki starts to act suspiciously and says some pretty dumb excuse. Kion doesn't believe him so he goes to his parents instead. He noticed that his parents are also acting suspiciously. He wanted to know the story. Something about that cub. So Nala asked Simba if it was time. Simba nodded as he was looking at the ground sad and depressed. Nala tells Kion the truth. After Kion hearing all of that, he wanted some time for himself. Kion became really sad. He didn't either want to talk to Grandfather. Kion went to Kiara and told her about the information he got. Kiara didn't believe him so she went to their parents. Kion remembered that his mother told him about what place Kopa got buried in. So he wanted to visit it. He saw the place and sat there for a while. He talked to himself. Minutes later, Kion stopped talking for some reason. He couldn't feel the smell of a dead body. He decided to dig up the dead body. His face went from being disgusted to shock. It was just rocks. No bones or any disgusting smell. (everything that is happening later is up to you, dream about it)
I think Disney someway include Kopa in its canon, because many of novelizations of the original story say that the first born is a male. In the audio description of "Lion King" in Disney Plus, the new born cub is described as a newborn prince, not a princess, so Kopa is someway included in Lion King Canon

He never said that number 1 and number 2 there were a series of books between the two movies. Disney didn't know about Kopa so they didn't add him so he is not in the second movie.

Its not canon unfortunately, even though Kopa was apart of the stories, the stories where not 100% disney just signed by them. As for why it was diffrent, Lion king 2 wasent even being thought about at the time. So it just simply wasent planned.
In fact the books were not made by Disney, they just gave the license. What a shame.
The fact all 3 cubs start with a K (Kopa, Kiara, Kion) kinda sounds canon... plus the reason Simba banished Zira was she attacked ... maybe she attacked Kopa? ... And Simba's unexplainable over protectiveness goes even deeper than fearing she'll make the same mistakes he had... tbh I'm a fanfic writer and your Kopa videos gave me an idea for a Lion King Fanfic

Kids these days dont apreciate the aesthetic of the old movies and just want better graphics (example is Lion Guard or you know the 3d ones , i mean common man). Kopa is not canon! Yes, Simba and Nala's cub at the end of the original movie is clearly male, and at the end of the novelization of the remake, it says Simba's son, but Simba's cub is female- Kiara

This theory is probably wrong, and doesn’t fit very much with the story, but I just thought of it.
Kopa was exploring one day, and he saw Vitani. He was skeptical of her at first, but she was very nice and funny, so he played with her. Nuka saw Vitani playing with Kopa, and he feared for her safety, because he knew Kopa was the son of Simba, and if Simba found out, he might kill her. (I feel like Vitani and Nuka has a very strong sibling bond.) So, he scared Kopa off by growling at him. Vitani was angry at him for a while, but soon she understood it was for her safety. One day, she saw Kopa again, and they talked. Nuka saw this, but he didn’t want to get in a fight with Vitani again, so he ran to get Zira. Kopa was telling Vitani that the outlanders were wrong, and he was trying to get her to come with him to the pridelands. Zira got angry when Vitani said she would think about it, so she intervened, roaring at Kopa. Simba heard what was going on, but when he got to where Kopa was, it was too late. Simba told Zira if she or any of her pride came back to the pridelands again, there would be trouble. Zira went back home with Vitani and Nuka. Vitani got angry at Nuka again and when Zira brought Kovu into the outlands, Vitani played with him a lot, often ignoring Nuka. But Kopa was jut in a coma, and he was still alive. He was scared, so he ran away from the pridelands. One day, he came back to the pridelands. But Nuka saw him. He was angry that Kopa was still alive, and had come back. The fought, and Nuka won, killing Kopa.
Vita your theory is almost correct but Simba never found Kopa and when Zira attacked Simba she told him she killed Kopa just to make him suffer. The last thing you got wrong is Nuka killing Kopa because Nuka was already dead when Kopa returned.
sedulous01 no theory is correct, or wrong. In my head cannon, Simba and Nala never found Kopa when he returned to the pridelands, because Nuka had already killed him. This is just my head cannon. Nothing is wrong about it, and nothing is wrong about yours.
Well that basically adds up aside from nuka... the way he is in TLK 2 is cold and dismissive to anyone but mother. He is nothing but semi obediant to vitani - or snarky and dismissive to her. so if anything she'd say DONT u DARE TELL MOTHER! grr and hed be like PSSH...oh i wont. (that'd ruin all the fun) nuka gets a kick out of his siblings miserys , as hes very jellous and posessive of mother. he wants to be her center of attention her only world. he was probably thinking good riddance vitani u little traitor. but then later decides it'd be more fun to stir up trouble and act like a "good boy" report/scount so he trots up to zira all like OHHHH MOOOOTHHHER~~ guess what i just caught vitttanni doing! setting zira off in a RAGE and thus everything happened - but, he still doesnt get notice nor appreciation from her - until his death "i finally got your attention..didnt i?" (this is cut out though, but i believe still canon just cut censored for protection of childs). I agree no theory is wrong or correct - except things can be "wrong" in the sense its not true to the characters - like with nuka imho, or doesn't add up/make sense (based off completely butt nothing - not that such is wrong persay, but needs to be aknowledged as pure imagination and not a ground one may try to defend/back up.) but yours , aside from nuka stuff feels pretty accurate to what many of us believe is possible. :) I am proud of you for standing up for yourself in a calm and respective manner. Don't ever let anyone put u down or anything

Actually kopas death would explain a lot of things about Simba's attitude and parenting style the death of a child is extremely traumatic for a parent and will make them more protective of their living children also it would explain his hatred for the outlanders and why they were excelled to the worst part of the pride lands

The Story of Kopa is awesome and would drive me to tears if shown as it is known, but I am sure Disney will never do that.

I dont think there ever was a Kopa to begin with. Just because they drew the lion cub with a little hair on the head in the first movie doesnt mean that its a male.
Its pretty obvious that its been Kiara from the beginning, only that they didn't decide on the gender in the first movie and when they decided it was to be a female they changed Kiaras looks without the hair on her head. There was never a Kopa it was just made up by fans.
And simba is so protective of her because he knows Kiara is like him and is bound to get herself into danger like he did when he got hunted by the hyenas and when he lost his father and thought it was his fault.

well, we don't know if Nala or Sarabi had the dark fur gene. And Scar had a dark mane while Mufasa had red so there had to be someone on their side who had it as well (one of the most popular headcanons is that their father had a dark mane)

I give the lion King two time lines, legends and Canon (kind of like star wars) Canon is the official timeline of the lion King films and the lion guard TV series. While legends is expanded universe content created by the fans before the lion guard show came out. So I would consider kopa to be legends but could be made Canon in the future
The first film was a B-Movie, meaning they never had a sequel planned. So Kopa is not canon.

Kopa is Semi-Canon. So, technically, that would make Kopa still part of Canon, just on one half as defined by what Semi means. If the ones who directed The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride are not going to add Kopa into Canon and Disney, then someone else will have to, so that Kopa can have the kind of place in the Canon part of The Lion King Franchise that he deserves. It can take place in the timeline between The Lion King and The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, while the second half can then take place after the events of The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and The Lion Guard.

Now, with the Kopa theories, the only way to figure out if Kopa really existed in Lion King 2: Simba’s pride, is if you try and connect the book, Six New Adventures, with the film makers of Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride. The Lion King 2, if it wasn’t planned, we’ll never know the answer. So, to all of the Lion King fans, I would just enjoy the movie’s and Lion Guard Episodes.
Yes the 6 great adventures was made by huge lion king fans. They had to be huge Lion King fans to make multiple chapter books for the lionking.
I've just discovered this TV animated show, "The lion guard". And you don't understand, I'm obsessed. So here's my theory:
Kopa gets attacked by Zira. Zira hurt him very badly so he got many bruises. It also made him get a mark of scratch right located at his arm. He was pretty unconscious and couldn't wake up. After his parents founding him, they cried and took the body. They thought he was dead but he wasn't. They took him to a cave and buried it. Everyone found about this in the Pride lands. It was a sad day. A year later, Kopa's parents decided to get a new cub. They named her Kiara. They didn't think it was enough for their family so they wanted to get a new cub again. They named it Kion. It was going great for them. Due to this, Kopa became the forgotten son of Simba. A new adventure started. -after seasons 1, 2, and 3- Kion founds about that mysterious cub in one of Rafiki's paintings in his family painting. Kion asks about it to Rafiki. Rafiki starts to act suspiciously and says some pretty dumb excuse. Kion doesn't believe him so he goes to his parents instead. He noticed that his parents are also acting suspiciously. He wanted to know the story. Something about that cub. So Nala asked Simba if it was time. Simba nodded as he was looking at the ground sad and depressed. Nala tells Kion the truth. After Kion hearing all of that, he wanted some time for himself. Kion became really sad. He didn't either want to talk to Grandfather. Kion went to Kiara and told her about the information he got. Kiara didn't believe him so she went to their parents. Kion remembered that his mother told him about what place Kopa got buried in. So he wanted to visit it. He saw the place and sat there for a while. He talked to himself. Minutes later, Kion stopped talking for some reason. He couldn't feel the smell of a dead body. He decided to dig up the dead body. His face went from being disgusted to shock. It was just rocks. No bones or any disgusting smell.

I think Disney someway include Kopa in its canon, because many of novelizations of the original story say that the first born is a male. In the audio description of "Lion King" in Disney Plus, the new born cub is described as a newborn prince, not a princess, so Kopa is someway included in Lion King Canon

He never said that number 1 and number 2 there were a series of books between the two movies. Disney didn't know about Kopa so they didn't add him so he is not in the second movie.

Since Disney doesn’t consider these canon either the lion in the beginning is really kiara, or it is a different cub, just likely not kopa. It’s probably just a cub with a different name that got killed my Zira.
In the video I said that the cub at the ending is called Fluffy, and it was just a prototype as Disney still hadn't choose a gender for that cub.
Yes, that could likely just be it. Maybe Disney plans on doing something with it like how toy story has a backstory of Andy’s father (it’s not said in the movie) but who knows. I’m guessing probably not.
