Hey Caitlin, I heard that the Post Office has scales for mail that can weigh up to 350 lbs. I dunno if they'd permit Tiptoe to use it, though. Maybe if he became a mascot for the USPS?😅
You could take him to a shipping warehouse and ask to use their pallet wrapper. Most wrapping machines will have a built in scale so he could just walk right on top of it and walla.

May I make a suggestion . Use a seamstress measuring tape to get an acuret raidese of Tip Toes shell both side to side and head to tale . I know that you will get some impressive numbers. ❤U🐢 And now were getting some serious Tip Toe weather in northern Minnesota now .
Hello Caitlin, you should go to a self storage facility that rents rooms to store stuff as they have scales built into the floor inside the doors.. usually they use to make sure skids are not to heavy for the indoor elevator. I used to bring stuff to mine to get weighed. I just said I was putting in my friends locker. Hope this helps. 🐢🐢🐢
The question I have is have you planned were he will go when your too old to handle him, as if he stay healthy he could out live you by almost twice your age or more?
Caitlin if you live by a long term facility they have scales that should accommodate Tiptoe. These facility have scales wide enough to fit extra wide wheelchairs which about give or take a few size of Tiptoe
It's good to see tip toe growing and grooving ,he just loves hanging g out in his pool ,maybe just a bit more water for a growing tortoise !!! I thought he was getting bigger !!!
You could probably go to your local landfill, and weigh the car with and without him. Some Landfills will charge you based on your before and after weight as you drive in and out. Or a zoo maybe?
Great videos- maybe a vet's office would have a big enough weight scale. The one I used to go to with my dog had one big enough for a Great Dane to stand on. But I see what looks like maybe an irritation at front corner of his left eye, almost like he got it irritated, maybe something got in it. I had seen it in several of his videos including this one....
I feel like you might be able to find a warehouse that could have a flat scale. Where I used to work we had to weight heavy items. Tiptoe could get a good weight from a flat scale.

He would only just fit and would very much struggle to turn round in a couple of areas, I have (what we Brits call) a galley kitchen. Long and narrow. Is it the same name over there for it? It will definitely be very interesting to see what his measurements are after his current growth period. He was very sassy today, bless him. He has his own personality. Some industrial warehouses have industrial scales for large items. Check out that. Maybe UPS or FED EX May have very large scales. I think Tiptoe will increase in weight and girth though not quickly. He must be near maximum size bc he is a fully adult male. But I m no expert on tortoises or turtles. 🥰♥️🐢🐢
I would have no idea. How to feed, how much to feed, how much do they sleep, what’s the proper exercise, what other animals should they interact with, is he happy or sad? I can tell how a dog is feeling after a brief interaction even if I just met it….. how do you know how a tortoise is doing?
You’re in LA… I do believe…. Well if you’re close to the fishing docks…. They have “ HANGING” scales that weigh in huge fish… fix up a heavy rope to cover his shell underneath up to a large round pin to hang from….. if done correctly it’s fine and safe …… I’m sure that love to have you filming his weigh- in… be great!!!!

He really needs a bigger place or perhaps bring him to the beach. The mark on your foot is normal, just blood visible from the top skin. I used to get those to my shoulders when shooting rifles in the rifle range. Also I think the pool is too shallow. You might want to install sprinklers to hydrate the top shell.
Scrapyards and metal recycling places have big scales. And they usually have the type of people working there that would be more than willing to help a pretty girl and her turtle.

1st when was the monet when your family realized just how much he was going to be and second i happy that you keep him and still love and care for him most people whold just ditch him some or at best take him to the Zoo thank you for showing us the right thing to do if you can keep him.
It is actually fun watching tiptoe trying to make a prison break through the gates. But he is such a good boy pretty. If he got out of the caged area, he would just go on a grass eating Fiesta on the front lawn.

Lots of vet hospitals or offices have a large scale on the ground that would accommodate TipToe.

Why not take TT to a freight company to weigh him? They have large scales and the employees would probably enjoy having him around for a little bit.
