Hi Lee it’s your cat mate I’d say skin it exactly how you want don’t worry about the idiots . That’s a super build man wow what a car that axle is something very special in fact the whole car is spectacular . Im not normally a fan of silvers either of any kind but whatever that colours called it looks bloody perfect on that car with the black livery . Nice job fella well done 👍
Beautiful - I built mine in 1998 and Sold it in 2006 but the only thing I would of done differently is to fit the headlining.. Was very drummy I can tell you!
Thanks Gary , The colours are actually motorbike colours off my 2006 GSXR 1000 K6. They are Suzuki Oort Grey Metallic and Phantom Grey Metallic . The roof is Piano black
Stunning build, the sound deading are you putting any on the roof, i always found that was were the most tinny noise comes from, also what's the make of the gold reflective you've put on, i could do with replacing mine, as always fantastic build, soon to be another escort roadworthy, looking forward to next vid..
Yes , its a big , unsupported panel - will definitely be adding sound deadening pads to the inside of the roof skin. The heatshielding is from Funk Motorsport . It's not just the sticky backed foil tape - its pukka fibreglass mat with a gold foil outer skin. Don't buy the self adhesive stuff - its a bit crap , get the non adhesive matting and use high temp contact adhesive to glue it to the bodywork. The car came back from paint with the bonnet fitted and set. I did as much as I could - on my own - without touching it . It had to come off in the end anyway so the crane could lift the engine up.
What a stunner
Cheers mate
Fantastic works and progress Lee. Getting their nicely.
Yes the sound deadening adds lots of weight but I'm sure she will make all the right noises.
When you say 'lots' its all kinda relative , but yeah I'm hoping it'll make all the right noises too !

I cant fit a normal headlining - the roll cage is in the way . I need to come up with a different solution !
Outstanding build. It's gonna be one helluva tool when it's finished.
Cheers Ralph - thats the plan !

Lee, (while you were initially positioning the engine fit), why did you want to keep the bonnet on?
The car came back from paint with the bonnet fitted and set. I did as much as I could - on my own - without touching it . It had to come off in the end anyway so the crane could lift the engine up.
Hello Lee, loving the build. Can you give me some info on your brake set up, pedal box and servo in particular please
Thanks mate - Check out Album No.9 on my build page - all the details are in there facebook.com/CossieMk1/photos_albums
