      I agree, case constantly screws up their stockmans and the ones from buck, the cadet has too much play
      Maybe they can start with a 2 blade stockman

    If they replaced the saw with scissors it wouldn’t be a harvester any more and would be far more of an indoors than outdoors knife that it is now. The saw is what draws me to most SAKs.

    I do lots of community volunteering (green spaces, habitat improvements, etc). The SAK 7 has been my pocket knife of choice for the past 5 years. The hawksbill is fantastic. The main blade is of decent stock. I love the wee saw but which is was slightly thicker, with some sort of locking mechanism.

    These Alox models are so sweet- I too love the polished stonewash on the blade.

    I have been carrying the Swiss Army 7 for 2 farming seasons. I love it. I use the saw for small limbs hanging over rows and the awl for marking on metal plows more than anything.

    Definitely on the list and now a bit higher up on it. Thanks so much for breaking this one down, Slippy.

    Great knife. I think it woule be better with the combi tool from the Bantam - instread of the flathead/cap lifetr. But a very capable knife. Gotta love these alox knives!!!!

    I never understand why they have the cap lifter instead of a tin opener, I can easily open a beer bottle on any edge,even with a Bic lighter ,but can't open a can without the SAK opener.

    • @SlipjointSawyer
      @SlipjointSawyer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a strange one for sure!

      @@rogerhudson9732 I agree, but its a sin to make a multitool without a cap lifter.

    • @arbiter1er
      @arbiter1er 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's more of a prybar due to its thicker construction and bigger size compared to 91mm ones, so it has more use than the can opener (that you can just carry standalone)

    Hi, nice review.
    May I ask a question..
    When you said made in Switzerland. It had made in CH on the box.
    Is that not China?
    All the best, David.

    • @SlipjointSawyer
      @SlipjointSawyer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey David, no problem at all! CH is the abbreviation for Switzerland in Swiss 🤘🏻 same as Germany is DE 🔥

      “For a bail”? What do you mean Bobby? I’ve got one so I’m interested.

      Nice modification

    • @bobbyd4400
      @bobbyd4400 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes since the harvester has no key ring I was looking for a way to attach a lanyard. So I tapped a small hole close to the brass pin on the end of the handle you don't need to drill very deep because you'll go all the way through the alox . Then take a bail off a camp knife and place it in the micro holes or divets and bend the bail to adjustment . It was actually easier to do than it sounds I wish I could attach a photo to show
