I'm in my late 60s. I've heard this song too many times to count. It brings tears to my eyes no matter how often I hear it. No other artist has ever had this effect on me. I can't be the only one....

@@roszyknuke , nope, you're not the only one. I'm a member of the "Criers Club" too, and 67 years old! Hits me every time in whichever video I'm watching of it. A few other artists hit me like that too -- Elvis, John Denver, Karen Carpenter, Laura Bretan, Amira Willighagen, & Lucy Thomas -- but not quite to the same extent, frequency, and depth as this young angel does.
Stunningly beautiful song. This girl is an absolute beast. I love her to pieces.
This is her original song written & performed when she was 14, shortly after her maternal grandpa passed. She said she wrote it for anyone who has lost a loved one, which is just about everyone.
This is a true classic one day I hope the whole world hears it!

Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice will be 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve.
Absolutely amazingly heartbreaking song , Angelina wrote and recorded Million Miles as a tribute to her Grandfather who passed away and to anyone who has lost someone, Angelina recorded the song in three versions, Angelina is not only an amazing vocalist she is a talented intelligent songwriter, great reaction thanks 🙏

Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of this amazing performance of Angelina's own original song - at age 14. Having lost my wife several years ago, I listen to this song pretty much every day. Each time I listen to Angelina sing this, I'm brought to tears - followed by immense comfort. And as great as this in studio performance is, I believe her live performance in Norway earlier this year is even better. Wonderful reaction to 14 Angelina. She started to write this after 2nd grandfather died in Nov of 2019 during the semi finals filming of AGT-C. She did the complete write up of the song after the shows filming in 2019 for the 2020 season when she was 14. Which got Mont Lipman to chase her down and sign her up for Republic Records in Aug, 2020
It truly is a stellar song, and written at the "ripe old age" of 14! This was the first song she produced after signing with Republic Records in the fall of 2020. No matter how many times I listen to this, it always hits me in the gut of my emotions -- as it obviously did yours too! If you want to "hear more" (as you said), you should react to her live rendition of it, in a much slower, even more emotional fashion, during this past summer's Norwegian concert tour. I'm sure someone else will leave a link. But it's professionally recorded in Koningsberg (spelling?), Norway, by a Norwegian TV crew. The video opens with a short interview with Angelina in her dressing room as she's getting last minute touches on her hair (you get to hear her sweet, beautiful speaking voice). Then, it shows her briefly backstage with her band members, giving high fives. Then, she's onstage, greeting the audience, going into her original "7th Heaven" (very jazzy, upbeat); then, doing "Million Miles" (slowed down, gut-wrenching, with an amazing finale!).
What more she got a few more version of this including live from concert this year, the concert with the silver dress.
Angelina wrote this song to deal with the loss of her grandfather. It is a song about loss and emptiness and also about comforting feeling that your loved one is never really gone. Nr.1 is 7th heaven and Nr.2 is Million miles, SPOILERALERT: as she sing them slower more bluesy you will enjoy it more her belt outs in "million miles" are breathtaking.
As her figure is not the norm, it is highly probable that she taylored her stage clothes herself again, as she weares them seldom mor than a handful of times. You know 186 cm tall, build like a runner, etc. With her impeccable taste for clothing, I can not imagine her to buy them custom made, OK, she is wealthy and can afford the clothes, but it is not like Angelina, to throw good money out of the window (German saying). There are three official releases of this song. The first was a lyrics version with artwork inspired by her grandmother. The one we're watching now was the second, performed while still 14. The last version was an official music video and has Angelina's (15) sister, Juliette (8), playing the part of a young Angelina. The girls were 12 and 6 at the time of his passing.
Of the song, Angelina said, “When I was in the booth, while I was singing, my tears were running,” she says. “To be honest, it was like a feeling of relief that all my feelings were written down and I felt relieved. “Million Miles” means a lot to me because it is relevant to these difficult times. I definitely want to share my love to everyone, and I hope that people can connect with it and relate to the story behind the song.”
This song has been a source of solace for many. At the height of COVID, as my mother passed, this has had just the impact on me that Angelina intended. I'm grateful for what she gave to me in this song.

Dear Lady, when AJ was a little girl, her japanese Grandpa took her with him into Oslo (the streets saw her growing up) he helped the community of the homeless with food and sometimes jobs.
AJ inherited that from him, in LA she was seen at Christmas Eve bringing dinner to some of the homeless, in one reported case, the person was sleeping, AJ carefully put down his dinner, a finger to her lips.
When her japanese (maternal) grandpa was in hospital, knowing he would die, he told her " I will watch you from the moon, see everything you do".
It was heart wracking when info came, that her beloverd grandma Mery was ill of the same sickness, that killed her husband. AJ was beside herself, in sozial media she asked her "angels" to pray for Mery, and pray we did. Someone heard us, after surgery, she seems to be on the mend.

This is such an emotional song directly from Angelina's heart. You can just feel it as she emotes. The loud cries at the end emphasize the pain she is feeling I believe. But if it's also a song of hope.

Thank you for your reaction to Angelina! This girl is ''an anomaly'' among young artist of today. I say that in the most positive way. She will release an album during the year 2023. Her first album from Republic Records. She will turn 17 years old in January.
"anomaly" wouldn't be what I'd consider her... More accurately is PRODIGY or MUSICAL GENIUS... since she could memorize lyrics @ 1 1/2 yrs old, possesses a voice that young people do not have, let alone the musicality/emotion laden talent.

I don't know if you've seen this video before, but it was put together by NRK Radio in Oslo Norway. Angelina was 11 when she recorded this piece with their studio. The video is of her hometown, Oslo Norway, at Christmas. Both the music and the video they produced are superb.

As you didn't mention it in the introduction, I'm not totally sure if you're aware that this is one of Angelina's originals ? It is her 4th original. She wrote it at age 13, just after her grandfather had passed away. She was 14 in this performance, and this was her 1st original after she signed with Republic Records in 2020. She has said in interviews that she dedicates the song to anyone who has lost a loved one. She's got SUCH a beautiful soul. An open, clean and naked soul, pretty much like her bare feet, Prolly a bad analogy, but I'll stick with it 🤣

I concur, if I could make a wish come true, it would be for longer lasting songs, as well!! The vocal coaches/music teachers zero in on what/how they breathe, what muscles they use... Yup doesn't it just make sense that that girl wrote that song? It will be a bigger song than it is. As part of her album, if she takes off massively with the album it will, two years after release, be among everyone's favorites on the album. 7th heaven too, both originals with Republic, so on the album, incredibly encouraging as well as standing on their own. I guess we knew. Her originals by twelve were very good and a good sign too. But I don't know, being a teenager can kind of derail things, as life becomes more real and we lose ourselves a bit. Big labels, priorities, all that jazz. The pride on your face, and other reactors who fell in love with her, when they see these originals finally, it's beautiful. Great writer, unreal singer, sweet kid, not afraid to give us her sweet message. I've never known fanaticism like this. She's like a member of everyone's family, such a safe bet as a human, all she'll ever need is to trust herself, that we happily let her in with no reservations, and emotionally invest like never before. I wonder why my other favorites in all my interests never hit so hard, I think it's that, she's just safe to fall for, pull for, on top of the unique access and timeline of watching a great kid do huge things so brilliantly in an artform we love so much.

My best friend passed away in 2020 and because of Covid his family and friend could not get together to celebrate his life. So in late summer of 2021 we got together and I make a video for the group. The background music I used was “One More Light” by Linkin Park (which you should check out) and “Million Miles”. It is still hard to believe someone so young can be in touch with their feeling and project such emotion.
