    G'day Cam, one thing you have kept consistent throughout all of your build/setup vids (which I really dig) is "this is what suits my purpose" your honesty is evident in everything you present. You never suggest something without explaining why you have selected a certain product and thats why the subscriber base is growing, keep up the awesome work mate

    Awesome canopy build and an amazing electrical fitout, Cam. It does not just look amazing but meets your build brief. Keep working on the love for the induction cooktop, one less fuel source to worry about, greater control over cook temps and yes, unaffected by blowing WA gales. The All Spark solar blanket looks great, keeps the tinny on the roof and extra weight out of your setup.
    Your honesty is still refreshing and soooo appreciated, your supporter base is growing in reflection of that honesty and diversity of topics you cover. And also keeping things in the realm of fiscally achievable for the average person/family. All the best to yourself, Tiff, Chloe and Percy (and the new little Wild on the way (?)), thanks for more great episodes on everything that keeps you getting away and sharing what you get up to when you get there. Cheers.

      I just wired up my caravan with 1.2KW solar, 340Ah Lithium, 85A AC/DC charger / 4kW inverter/ automatic change over switch. 50A DC/DC charger and it cost me 6k. Granted I did the work myself but lithium systems are getting somewhat affordable in relation to what they used to be.
      I can run my AC on the coldest setting all day, whilst also using my microwave and any other electrical load in the caravan with no worries now. Very happy with it.

    A better antennae on the Cel Fi Go does make a difference. While went for the magnetic base which looks a bit like a shark fin and have it on the corner of the dash and it works a treat and extends the signal well beyond the car and caravan. The small one that usually comes with the kit is not much good.

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers mate, I’ll have a look at that, be nice to have signal from the van too. I’m more concerned about the incoming antenna though. I’d like to get more range from towns/towers.

    • @zoezoe610
      @zoezoe610 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WildTouring The aerial I have is a Blackhawk Trucker Edge Compact Antenna which so far has been impressive. I have only had the setup a short while and only used it around the south west and last week went to the Stirling Ranges up through Red Gum Pass Road in the middle of the ranges and still got 4 bars. I have it mounted on the rear of the roof rack.

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zoezoe610 heard good things about Blackhawk antennas, and that’s probably the way I’ll go. Never had dramas with signal in the South West either, it’s up north in the Pilbara and the Kimberley between towns where we found it useless. But I’ll have a crack at improving it with some better antennas before I give up on it!

    Hey mate, you may have done a video already on it, but how do you find the air compressor you use? What one is it? Cheers

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a dual piston ARB compressor. Early days but so far it’s been good! Pretty expensive though. The old $99 XTM compressor it replaced lasted me a couple of years and was just as fast.

  • @paynescaping8957
    @paynescaping8957 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does your compressor wire straight to your lithium main terminals? Am thinking of hard wiring as well. Am assuming that if car is running it would give 70a from lithium and then 40a from alternator through the dc2dc charger to drive the compressor?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s hardwired to the fuse block (each piston has its own fuse). So it is running off the lithium. When the compressors going with the engine running it would be assisting it with some current. But my batteries good for 175a continuous, so the 68a max from the compressor doesn’t worry it (engine on or off).

  • @travelsolo2677
    @travelsolo2677 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks awesome 👍👍 a quick question, are you running the ARB compressor off the Lithium or start battery?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate, yeah running the air compressor direct off the lithium. I wouldn’t do that with any lead acid or many other brand lithium batteries. But the Allspark will pump out 175a max continuous discharge , and my compressor draws 68a at full whack.

    • @WildTouring
