Please do more videos on homeschooling ! My boys are 4 and I want to start in the fall slowly. A video of organizing homeschool stuff and essential supplies in the beginning would be amazing !
I was so happy to hear of another homeschool mom that doesn't enjoy reading 😅 I was home/unschooled k-11th and have now been homeschooling my 6 kids. I have some that enjoy reading and some who don't. And teaching my 2 middle ones to read has been so challenging. My older two learned in public school and it's definitely been the most challenging part!
Our 3 sons are now raising their own families homeschooling as well. Our oldest 2 alternated between attending a private Christian school and homeschool, depending on each year’s needs for our family. Our youngest son was homeschooled solely. All of them attended college. Our biggest opposition was from our extended family who felt they were too cocooned from “real” life.Today, one is in management of a major newspaper. Another was in the intelligence sector of our military, is a disabled vet, and pastoring a small church and a published author. And the other son is the executive manager of a major restaurant chain. All this to say, relax and enjoy the journey. None of them were socially stunted or educationally deprived. Molding our children’s spirits to discover God’s will for their lives is the greatest priority, as we’re teaching them scholastically. Our critics have fallen to the wayside, as hurtful as their comments were. We’re now rejoicing in what God is doing in their families! It just takes many years to reap what we’ve sown in our children’s lives.
The Good and the Beautiful Language Arts is so great! Our kids loved the readers and books that went along with the sections. They also have an amazing History curriculum. It was our kids and my personal favorite❤️
I’m a little late in getting to this video but I just wanted to share that I also used both the Bob books and the Rush Revere series with my kids. My kids loved them both! In fact we ended up giving them stuffed Liberty horses for Christmas one year!😊I’m a little further in my journey than you (3 done and 2 to go) but I just wanted to encourage you! I’m also an unlikely homeschool mom, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Having that time with my kids is priceless! We made a lot of mistakes on the way, but it all works out in the end! Enjoy the journey! 😊

Don’t be too stressed about teaching your son to read. You’ll both do great, I’m sure 😊 I’m a teacher and love the Bob books as well. Teaching students to read is one of my most favorite things about teaching, second only to teaching writing!! 🥰

@@thisgoldenhour three out of us five went to college... My one sister is a EMT. My brother graduated from (and now practices) Law in Cinn Ohio. My oldest sister went to college for missions, and she taught middle school for quite a few years as well. My youngest sister and I chose no college and I went into elderly care etc. for around 9 years... now I'm getting a chance to live my dream job, as a homemaker and Momma ♡ My little sister just got married to a Widower, who has four sweet children, and she is living her dream now as well ♡♡ five very different callings and goals between all of us, but I feel like my Mom did a wonderful job as our teacher, to give us the experiences and life lessons along with the knowledge and skills, that we needed to thrive in our dreams as adults!!♡ Hope my children can say the same of me some day!

We have the Brave Heroes book and Rush Revere books. We read Brave Pilgrims in 3rd grade, which my son liked. We’ll be reading more of the Rush Revere books next year for 5th grade when we get back into American history. We’re currently doing world history.
I'm using Generations Level 2 for my second grade daughter, and The Good and the Beautiful Pre-K for my four year old daughter. I also got the Kindergarten Primer in case the Pre-K work is a breeze for her. Can't wait to see what you think of your choices for this year after you've had a chance to get into the work! I'd highly recommend On Mission by The Gentle & Classical Press! A beautiful way to learn about other cultures.
We use Bob Books too and love em.
Teaching Textbooks for Math is good. Kids like it being online and we do use scrap paper to figure our problems out. So they getting both. Can use the textbook also if you want.
I would love to see a homeschool DITL :)
My oldest is 9 and struggled to learn to read. I would force her to read books because she was “behind”. I got tired of the fighting and her dreading school. One day I completely stopped making her read. Once I stopped and let her make the choice she has blossomed at reading. She’s asked me to get her books now. All this happened in about a year!
It sounds like you will love the Around the World curriculum. It covers different countries and cultures with their cuisines etc

I love homeschooling. In my opinion, we as the parents are the best teachers because we love our children the most. But I know not everybody agrees on that.
So many different opinions, but I think every family should pray about it and make the best decision for them 🥰

Thanks for sharing your home school plans, it was really interesting. By chance have you come across any similar programmes for teenage children (my son's 12) that you could recommend? You may not have got to that age group yet but you have done such a great job resourcing for your four and it's always good to have recommends or leads. I'm in the UK but often buy things from the States because there's a larger choice!
i have some videos on my channel about highschool! ( and other grades as well.) It's hard to find upper grade content on youtube! but I feel like as some of us have children that are getting older there is getting to be a bit more.
I have not done research for higher grades, but you might want to check Angela Braniff’s videos? She has a wide range of grades/ages and similar style 😊
