I'm currently intermittent fasting and I lost 16 pounds in past 3 weeks. It does work, I am type 2 diabetic and my a1c went down from 7.8 to 6.9. I started fasting in June for a month, but then I took a break. I'm now doing the 18:6 and my results are amazing!!! For hunger pains I drink water, unsweetened tea, and chicken broth; and I feel full after. Thanks for making this video. -Stephanie

I will be a young 70 this September .I have been doing intermittent fasting for a couple of years now.i have lost near on 4 stone. I also have Hashimoto disease and 12 months in from having spinal fusion 12 screws in my vertabrae fromL2 to S1 sacram..Intermittent fasting is easy and the benefits from it are amazing .I look at it like a motor vehicle .which you fill up with petrol and drive until it is empty before filling it up again with petrol...I feel so much better for it.Drinking plenty of water throughout helps heaps . And eating clean..Cutting back on carbs too..Its the easiest way to get healthy and lose weight. And makes so much sense.I wake up around 7am take my meds with water wait an hour then have a coffee.I do not eat until around 11am which is my first meal...... Afternoon tea around 3.30pm .Dinner no later than 7pm.......And thats it.Nothing more but water if needed until the next day around 11am....One gets into a routine and becomes a way of life and you don't even think about it after awhile

My husband is a two time cancer survivor who was diagnosed pre-diabetic. He loves to eat and I love to cook and bake. So we both started IF and while I lean towards no sugar I don’t completely restrict the man to a strict regimen. I still bake sourdough bread and a few desserts now and again with stevia and by doing so he has lost 30 pounds and I’m down 10+. So IF worked for us and his pre-diabetes is in check. So glad you had a positive experience. No, IF isn’t for everyone but for some it is the golden nugget. Thank you for sharing.

Love this! I also practice intermittent fasting, mostly a 20:4. I feel so much better. My plantar fasciitis has gone away completely. I've lost some weight, still have a long way to go. I'm so grateful to never have to "diet" again!

I was also surprised how my blood sugar was actually helped by a bit of fasting. I used to feel like I had to eat every couple of hours during the day. I found that if I didn't eat a single bite my body wouldn't release insulin and cause jitters. It made me feel good.

I think eating from 7-8 in the morning till 15-16 in the afternoon is better than stopping eating later in the day. I always go to the gym at 06:00 do cardio and weight training for 1,5-2 hours and eat after the training in bits separated 1 hour from each other till around 15h and stop the food intake and switch to alone water. Since that, I don't have this sleepy feeling around 12-13 anymore.

I think this was the message that I needed to hear. I also have Chronic Lyme and have struggled with my blood sugar but was afraid to get too strick bc of the conflicted info that I held on to also. Can you please share some ideas of what you eat in the day? Im afraid to do strick keto bc of my pots and messing up my electrolytes but maybe I just need to learn how to do this right with Lyme. I seem to feel better with low carbs. As you know it's complexities. Blessings to you and your family! Thank you for sharing too

Thanks so much for sharing. I have been waiting for this video. I just finished my first month of IF, but I was so excited and hopeful to loose weight that i was so sad to find out all I lost is 4 pounds in 4 weeks. I don’t know why. I did 16/8 and was strict about it. It did hurt my stomach a lot with some mad cramps in the stomach walls when I wanted to eat and it triggered my vertigo more, but as we Russians say, we never give up. I am planning on going back to it, but first going to get some blood work done and talk to my doctor to see what I did wrong and why isn’t it working for me.
Have you had that experience in the beginning? That you are not losing weight? I wonder why? I felt great doing IF and thought it would become my lifestyle. Blessings. Mary 🥰🥰🥰

I’ve always been doing this my whole life naturally before I knew there was a name for it. I eat three times a day around 8ish. Then. Noonish and around 5ish and then that’s it! Bc I have several chronic illnesses I have to be extremely strict w my diet and types of foods. I keep a routine every day and definitely do not skip meals. Lots of water. Like you said the food is nourishing but also not denying myself if I do want dessert or the occasional drink. I start to feel sick if I wait to long in between meals but the 16 hours not eating I’m totally fine.

I also have low blood sugar. I have tried it IF some and noticed it helped with better BM’s. I think that is because it gives your stomach more time to digest food and not so much food to digest. I was wondering what time do you eat your last meal in the evening? Our Family eats kinda a late Dinner at times. So I am going 14 hours before eating my next meal the next day. Also wondering what you have in the first meal of the day? Like how much protein and fats. I do drink Water and a Herbal Tea in the Morning(with Honey,Cinnamon and Mushroom Powder). Since we get a lot of Eggs from our Chickens. I have Eggs in that first meal almost everyday. Please some other suggestions for Food to have with Eggs.

Did you add any exercising to your IF? I did IF about 12 years ago for a month. I finally lost my postpartum weight and then some. of course I had a 1 year old running around so sitting still wasn't much of an option back then. Sadly I'm not chasing littles anymore so I have to be more intentional about exercise.

    • @amyh7491
