  • I keep trying to drive this point over and over again, this is why you might not be seeing the success in fishing you hope for.

Don't change a thing about making your video's! Your breakdowns of what you are doing are why I watch all of your videos. I am 52 yrs old and your insights are still helping me improve my game.

Todd, it’s refreshing to have a place to go for content that dives deeper than the surface level tactics and how-to videos for beginners. There is a niche that you fill for high level angling philosophy, where you talk about the true art of bass fishing. I appreciate videos like this. I saved it for later to help aid my mind in my tournament season. You have my vote for this being a top video of 2024 already.

You're right. There's a lot of fluff out there that doesn't amount to a hill of beans and you gotta slog through a lot of it to find the stuff that actually helps you catch fish.

As a bass fisherman you are 100 times more advanced than us average anglers , I consider myself pretty good at certain things but I know that I don’t compare to your skill level on anything I do so I am glad that you are doing what you do because your input makes me better faster if that makes since . Keep on doing what you do and I for one will keep on watching .

I love this type of video. Learning about general strategy, mindset and attitude from a seasoned veteran is more valuable than people seem to realize.

Yep. Change up is hard to do when what worked yesterday doesn't work today. That is a hard lesson to lean.

Tunnel vision is one thing that I suffer from. I'll try to force feed the bass with the same baits I got bites on in practice. I need to try and follow you suggestions to be more open minded. Thanks for posting!

Great video Todd! The way you break it down, is why I’m here and in the members only group. You’ve helped me to have a better understanding on how to break a lake down. I agree about the baits and techniques. I would like to learn why you chose a specific bait for that area. Water clarity, temperature, time of year. Thanks for all the help and information.

Time on the water is what makes us better anglers, not time on the interwebs..... It took me 2 years to figure out my new small home lake after I moved . I caught plenty of fish first year but I was very inconsistent! Halfway through this year I finally figured out what the big bass were hanging out around & eating. After figuring it out I caught a 7.4 - 8.05 - 8.6 - 9.3 - 11.4 all in just under 3 months. Caught a lot of 4 & 5's few 6's also . Throwing big swimbaits in the kayak & searching for big girls is one of my favorite things to do. I also lost 2 more really big ones recently, one pulled off right next to my kayak. It was at least an 7-8 pounder. The other jumped 5 feet from me & spit my glide bait. Then swam away laughing at me. That was another 9-10 pounder. Still hurts to think about!!!!!

You fished yesterday? Here in the northeast our lakes are starting to freeze! Fishing is different in different parts of the country < alot of yotube stuff dosent pertain to our fishing ? 👌🤔🤔

People get sucked in to doing what’s hot in this or that tournament video they watched instead of learning a new area or section of the lake . I’ve committed to doing new things in new areas this spring . Stay tuned

I always love your videos. And I don't want to be spoon fed, but I try to glean from the things you say to help me. But, for me it seems sometimes in the critical areas it's to vague. For instance, I try to imagine being a coangler at the moment you catch the bigger one at noon and then again an hour later....on the video you say things like " ok, I think I ve figured something out" that's when I'd love to hear exactly what do you think you figured out and why...because it seems that does not get articulated...at least to me... And then you decide (again would love to know the reasoning) to stay in that area and pick it apart- I'm not sure I know what Todd C is doing, considering, looking at etc or how to pick apart. So those classes less vague would help me in my world on my lake...and I have no interest in tournaments but love the challenge of bass fishing

The reason the practice days and tournaments are so different is because of solunar periods. If you want your practice to be the same as the tournament practice 2 weeks away from the tournament, as long as seasonally it’s the same and conditions are extremely different.

Honestly, if it wasn’t for live coverage and watching bass behavior on FFS I wouldn’t believe a word a “pro” saids about how to catch fish or what was used.
Nothing wrong with videos with teaching techniques and the when and the where.
But guys have to go out and Spend Time on Water. Period
