    Good video! Lots of useful tips and things to check. Can be used as a good start for a before season check as well! Thanks for this!

    Looks like dealer didn't do any pre-delivery prep. Hoping you did pay for that in the deal.

      Yeah they didn't and I didnt pay for it but it's also nice to know it is set up right for me now.

    Good rule of thumb on track tension is to check the actual manufacturers sticker somewhere (usually on the left side) on the track frame and to forget these "two finger pinched measurements shenanigans".
    Good and informative video for any one who is buying a sled.

      Haha if you say so. You're not always in a position where you can do that. I guess if you carry a tape measure and a scale with you on the mountain then ignoe it. But you best make sure not to forget one or the other because apparently it has to be exact. 👌 I'm just sharing from personal experience in the video what has worked for us in over 40 years of riding.

    What would be the purpose of putting in the secondary separator tool while adjusting your belt deflection? I've done this adjustment many times but never would install the clutch separator tool.

      It's definitely not necessary and for fine tuning the adjustmen it works better if you don't use the tool. I put it in the video that way because it eliminates the possibility of a noob stripping or breaking anything. It's really the safest option for that but again definitely not necessary. The way you do it is the way I do it a majority of time.

      @@lifestylepowersportspartsa4587 I see! Takes some stress off the Allen while u make an adjustment so you don't strip it. Gotcha. Nice video. Crazy how much the dealer doesn't do on such an expensive machine!

    Good Grief, if this is a brand new sled, not impressed that your dealer didn't do much of a pre-delivery inspection.

      Yeah I didn't have them do really anything to it for the purpose of doing this video but I have bought from a few different dealers in the past and not always has everything been taken care of so I feel it's good to share the basics.

    Curious what dealer set this snowmobile up? Ensure I do not go there myself in the future!

    That was a good video man, I don’t have a matryx but the track tension stuff is helpful for my axys.
    My track is a bit closer on one side then the other, I’d say 1/8”. Does it have to be exact?

    • @lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
      @lifestylepowersportspartsa4587  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No not exact. I just eyeball it so they're real close. As long as it's not really close or rubbing anywhere then you're good.

      How could you keep a giant rubber belt aligned exactly, and what do you consider exact?

    Where you are saying to run preload is far beyond what Polaris recommends on those shocks. One inch of preload is max for them. It's rt in the manual. 🤷‍♂️

    • @lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
      @lifestylepowersportspartsa4587  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not saying you have to run it there. I'm just saying that's where I found is the best for my style of riding. Those springs are way too soft in my opinion but thats just me 🤷‍♂️

    • @Icutmetal
      @Icutmetal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Better do what the manual says, or else!

    Dont tell people to pot a foot in there. Just look so the track is bairly moving

    • @lifestylepowersportspartsa4587
      @lifestylepowersportspartsa4587  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't say to put a foot in it. I said on it which is a big difference. If you don't stop it somehow whether it's with your foot or setting it on the ground I have found from experience that your belt can still be too tight and cause it to squeal at idle when there's resistance. It won't be enough to burn the belt but it's a hug annoyance of mine. As the video states it's tips and tricks. Not must do and must not do. People can take it for what it's worth. It's what I do to get my machine set correctly. Thanks for advice 👍
