Such a high level of playing over a wide variety of compositions!
I especially like the Rachmaninoff Symphony 1🎶

I know this is impressive and needed in a lot of music, but this type of stiff disciplined snare drumming always feels so dead and boring to me

Totally understand what you mean. It’s certainly not jazz! To my ear this playing is exciting and refined. As orchestral musicians we have to intentionally be very much in a predetermined box. There’s often very little room for interpretation as the composers have marked extremely detailed information on the page. Ed is executing at an extremely high level here, so if it’s not your flavor, I’d say you might have to try more classical music?? What’s your background in drumming? :)

@@ThePercussionConservatory I'm nothing but a rookie drummer myself, so my opinion really doesn't say much. But i've been listening to music ever since my ears developed in the womb, Since both of my parents are musicians. I just know my dad would absolutely love this video, its exactly the type of drumming he did.
And you're absolutely right! I love classical music, as well as jazz and even some metal. As for this, its not my taste, but i can surely appreciate the level of skill and dicipline needed to play it.
