Excellent stuff again guys! Like you both said, all too often when you look out the window and see poor weather conditions it’s all too easy to stay at home & do something else instead of getting out there with the camera. Some species lend themselves very well to rain, red squirrels, badgers, foxes, woodpeckers, jays, & even the woodland & song birds. So good on you both for pressing on with it & getting it done. 👍 Sorry Dan, but I’ve voted for Pops’ Jay image, I just like the framing of it & the symmetry. Nothing wrong with your tightly framed Nuthatch, I just prefer the jay image. Keep on keeping on boys! Best, Nick
Cheers Nick, really appreciate your comments and continued support mate. I think we will be choosing to get out in the rain more often following some fantastic results this time. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 👍🏻
Great idea for a dreary Day Dan and Pops , the drowned Nuthatch was my favourite. For me sitting in my Hide at home or a pop up hide in these conditions is never wasted time , must be the years of Fishing you fish regardless 👍

Dan, I choose the nuthatch. But if Pops had included his rain-soaked nuthatch, I probablywould have chosen that. Nice to see that you share the same passion. Enjoy it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thanks very much we really appreciate it. It really is fantastic to share a passion with Pops we get to spend quality time together and always have a giggle 🤭 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 👍🏻
Really enjoyed the banter between you both, the challenge and of course the inspiration it gave you to go out in such conditions. Can we have more Dan v Pops please.
What a great idea for a challenge. I’m no youth but it’s my first year getting into photography and beyond the bounds of my own back garden to birdwatch. I subscribed a few months ago and I’ve enjoyed quite a few of your videos now and they are really helpful. The fact that you needed to photograph common subjects because constraints you gave yourselves and the great shots of them was inspiring to a newbie like me. It shows that there are photographic opportunities everywhere. My favourite was Pops’ grey squirrel. In voting I’m going for the nuthatch. I’m looking forward to the next round.
Thank you Samantha. I’m really glad that you are enjoying the videos and they are inspiring you to to take more photographs, that was always the aim of the channel from the very beginning. Thank you also for the subscription, it’s very much appreciated. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 😊
Great video Dan, quality time spent with your father makes it all worthwhile. I’d have picked the blurred in flight image, but out of the 2 finalists I’ve gone for your portrait shot. Well done to both of you.
Thanks very much, always appreciate your comments and continued support. Have a fantastic Christmas and New Year 👍🏻

Between the two fotos you’ve chosen, I liked more the one from Dan. My favourite photo was Pop’s shoot of the bird flying which is blurry. Next Dan’s photo of a bird one the ground surrounded by plants. Cheers
Thanks very much I appreciate it. We discussed our photo choices after the video and I said to Pops that I would have chosen the blurry one. It is something different and very artistic. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 👍🏻

Another fabulous video, thoroughly love watching your channel. I’ve spent a few hours in that Etherow hide myself as I live in Stockport. Tough to choose between your two photos, they’re both excellent and equally good, but if I had to choose I’d go with Dan’s Nuthatch head shot…. Well done to you both 👏
Great idea pal, I actually prefer your low level Nuthatch and Pops Jay at around 15:40.... To choose between the two you both selected i'll give it to your nuthatch - great detail and love the rain streaks
That was a bit of fun. I will be photographing Jays, Robins, Magpies and just about anything that comes close when I'm in the UK. As for my choice, I'll go with the portrait of the Nuthatch. Pops Jay needs the vertical branch on the right to be removed for my taste. One thing that did cause me some grief was the two pictures/prints on the wall being hung at different heights! Plus the one on the left (the Squirrel) is not even level! Come on lads, as photographers you should know about paying attention to your backgrounds.😎
Evening guys, great to see you together, having banter and a laugh even though conditions were a tad dire. I've sat in hides on the Ouse Washes midwinter stairods outside and on the beach at Titchwell while a hoolie going on, but always with fellow birders which fo me makes the conditions bearable as I don't like my own company. Enjoyed the video as always, you did well considering low light etc, I'm on the fence so a point each for the images, keep them coming, merry Christmas to you both. Cheers Derek.

All the very best 👍🏻
Just a thought - to avoid Pops winning every time, why not just show the two pictures and only say who took them once the votes are counted? Enjoy the coffees and have a great Christmas.
Thanks very much Graham it’s really appreciated. I think moving forward I will definitely be making the photos anonymous until voting has finished, otherwise I’ll never win 😂😂😂
Thanks very much for the coffees they’re really appreciated.
Have a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Year 👍🏻
