There was once a UK property programme where buyers bought one of these fake houses, that used to hide a disused industrial water pump for the areas water supply and remodelled the interior into an actual house to live in. Outside it looked like a traditional British railway cottage, which the real ones are in high demand and can get really expensive to purchase.
Are you my neighbor? I live in a semi rural subdivision with most lots undeveloped. There is a place about 1/2 mile away that has burneddown twice.and the guys has been in and out of jail but it continues.you can smell he nasty vapors when you drive by.
I’ve lived close to that pump house in Raleigh for over 20 years. I NEVER knew it was there and Wade Ave is a pretty busy street! Wow, that IS amazing!
I love the German vault fake house. I can imagine the last cash counter emerging from the vault, blinking in the sunlight. "It's done," he says. "The last Deutschmark note has been accounted for." Everybody: "We all just switched over to Euros yesterday. All those Deutschmark notes are now worthless."
No mention, I note, of the Pump Houses in Dungeness, Kent, UK, which were built in connection with PLUTO "PipeLine Under The Ocean) as part of preparations for the D-Day Landings of June 1944. PLUTO was devised to supply fuel to the Allies, thus avoiding the need for tankers which would have been prone to attack by the Germans.
I live and work at a nightclub complex in the south west of England which used to be a cinema built in 1936. Apparently a row of fake houses was painted on the side in WW2 to confuse german bombers. You can still see the faint house shapes on the side wall today.
Imagine being chased by someone who is trying to kill you and you try to run up to one of these houses to get help by banging on the door only to realize it’s a fake house lol 💀
Not a fake house, but an old school house in my town was being used to grow weed a few years back. I have no idea who was growing it or how they got into the building. Also it’s situated between two other schools that are still open so it’s crazy that they got as far as they did.
There was a fake house in my neighbourhood We would call the pizza guy and the address of that house and watch him ringing fake doorbell and then we gave him money
At the Corner of Rue de La République and Rue des Cordieliers in Amiens France stands a Gothic style Catholic church whose front door address is #4 Rue des Cordiliers. When facing South to the Massive front door, there's a walled in Garden to its right that ends on a Street that's called "Rue Jules Lardière". On the West side of that street on the corner, is a Fake house at #2 Rue Jules Lardière. It's made of cement, is in the Early 19th century style, stands 3 and half stories tall, is approximately 34 feet wide, has two balconies, 12 windows (with closed metal shutters) including two basement windows? There's ornamental wrought Iron bars protecting most of its windows, a garage width Green front door and a center opening door within this garage width door the structures only entrance. The only problem with this architecturally impressive structure is that it's only 4 and a half feet deep. Google Earth it, You'll have a good laugh.
West Haven, CT USA, Jones Hill road at the top of Jones Hill is an no longer used white cinder block electrical substation on the north or east bound side of the road, looks like that brick one shown at the beginning of the video, white with black shutters.
Jor-AL-emon The house was bought by the Interborough Rapid Transit company. It wouldn't be known as part of the MTA until the IRT, BMT, and IND unified in the 70s.
I love your videos. I am from Toronto. In your video you are talking about the house 353 Eglinton Ave E and I live in this neighbourhood and Toronto Hydro demolished the house.
We had one of those houses in the Neighborhood, it often had County Trucks Parked in the Driveway. Was always well maintained. It was a Sewage Pumping Station.

There is a house in a beach community with a tiny little lawn. There is also a manhole cover next to the tree. If you climbed down the ladder inside you could get to all the telephone lines leading to a Military facility! A strange place for such an installation right!
You missed the fake house in Mission Ks. KGS maintains a metering and regulating station behind a false house on 70th Terrace. There is one room where orifice plates and other spare parts are stored. Behind the garage door is a satellite dish. In the back yard are orifice meters.
If you go on Google Earth and follow the line from the facade in Leinster Gardens, you can see a whole load of venting between homes and factories. And you get a good look at a London not usually seen on the telly.
The city of Lyon in France has dozens, if not hundreds of trompe l'oeil fake houses/stores etc dotted around the city, although many of them are more obvious, featuring people, animals and birds and so on. Very cool though! Also in the old town many doors to buildings disguise a network of corridors/shortcuts used by the silk workers and then the French resistance in WWII.
I saw on a documentary episode of Cities Of The Underground (I think that's what the documentary series was called) about a fake house in Moscow, Russia.
We have one in Hamilton Ontario at the corner of parkdale and king street. I think it’s great to hide the hydro like that. But in Hamilton the houses are run down so they stand out
In Illinois when I was in high school we had an police training event in school and one of the officers claimed right in middle of town extremely close to the school and state capitol building was a Coal Mine entrance. I believe I know a fake building that covers this. I live in neighborhood never seen anyone go in come out but it. It sits on a plot of land with a 1 storied building on it with blacked out windows, and about 40 feet behind it there is a smaller building no windows but a 2 story chimney on it with a massive commercial grate on top of it you can clearly see this on google maps. If its not the coal mine entrance I figure its a escape for the state capitol which is about 3 blocks from this building. When in high school we would play in the tunnels under the state capitol and get ran out by maintenance claiming don't play down here you could get lost or end up across the street. Also not to far away from this area way back when during prohibition times there was a distillery on a plot of land near by. This plot of land is in a prime medical district area. But no one has ever built on it this plot. I have seen houses around the area go down for parking lots and LTAC hospitals, but all they do on this plot of land is keep the grass cut. The story is the even though they tore down the distillery building that was there is a massive underground storage still there.
Where I live there has been a lot of "secret tunnels constructed over time. One of the large houses on the outskirts of town had been used in the Underground Railroad during the slave days and had tunnels leading off under the house to hide the runaways. The court house downtown is rumored to have tunnels leading off from it connecting it to another nearby building built for safely exiting officials during a crisis. The main college in town has a series of tunnels under it which one of those tunnels once connected it to a special underground lab where they studied radio active materials at one time (my son studied Physics there and one of his professors use to work in that lab and told my son about it). I can remember back when I attended there years ago often students would find access to the tunnels to wonder around (among other hidden activities as well - lol) And back during the prohibition days there was a series of tunnels constructed under what is now part of the down town area for bootlegging purposes. At the end to one part of the tunnels was a large room that was used as a hidden speakeasy (illegal bar), If I am correct one of the ways into the tunnels was through a "horse stable" (which that original building now houses an upscale restaurant associated with a nearby bar and the restaurant is called of all things "The Stable"). It was reported that the speakeasy got raided one day and everything was left as it was at the moment of the raid (drinks left on the tables and all). A few years ago these tunnels started to become a problem with sink holes developing in some of the roads and when repairing the roads one of the construction workers claimed to have spotted the location of the speakeasy and could see into it but due to unsafe conditions of the area was not able to enter.
Wow that’s crazy that they bought the massive underground bunker with the large house on top for just 500 thousand euros. 500 thousand dollars in Australia will get you a small block of land or and crappy one bedroom apartment 😂
the small house in Paris, are you maybe confusing metres and centimetres? 10 cubic centimetres is about the size of one eighth of a Rubiks cube. And the house in Mosel valley, you talk about the threat of imminent war, in 1962. Which war?
