I just watched a Zeloskyes' video (his last upload) where, at the end, a speed hacker just wiped all his gear and inventory at a considerable distance. Not only that, he wiped clean his knowledge also, and ALL HIS FRIGGING EMOTES. In the end, he said his character could not even punch, the cheat somehow interfered with that. That is both disgusting, frightening and concerning. You can't invest in a game where a character can be so easily trashed by another ill intentioned player. Security should be number one priority.
I've not seen Zelo's video yet, but I'd heard that his work is basically wiped out. Absolutely correct that you can't confidently invest in a game where something like that can happen
Yep, also saw Zelo's (excellent) stream. Tightened up which regions outside where my servers are hosted can access my servers. Happily, the Admins are very active and have only needed to ban two IDs over the past several years. The regular players feedback the moment they notice suspect stuff so all good. Really wish there was some effective way to zap cheaters on Official though, and looking forward to FCom progressing on whack-a-moling it.
@@GrymmsPlace Glad you watch out for your players. The sad thing is that people know Funcom won't assign anyone to properly police official servers, specially the heated PVP scene, when people will certaintaly just false report their ingame rivals. So hackers operate with impunity.
That's how the game is made: knowledge, emotes and spells are actually inventory items which are placed in their own dedicated inventories and can be given, moved and taken by an admin. Why the heck some random dude can claim admin status on an official server to use all of these functions now that's a good question...
Much like life, there is nothing fair about online games. But here is the thing, if you love the game you are cheating in, you are literally killing the game you love.
@@Eradicati0nn Exactly right. Last year saw on a stream those kinds of threats. The clan in question was bragging how they were going from server to server trashing things as much as possible, using the fact that Support cannot practically insta-resolve every global server, all because they had been banned from some other server.
We try to catch and combat hackers by keeping our gamefiles backed up. We run a private server which empowers us to make fixes faster, and compensate players. By either rolling back the world, or replacing the lost items.
Most private server owners seem to just have far more ability to quickly & reflexively react to issues. Likely because the officials don't have a proper "admin" as such, but it does put those officials to shame. It's no surprise most people choose to play on privates, a responsive admin/admin team just makes life so much easier
Completely agree with your perspective on the topic, except for the nomenclature. Cheaters are not hackers, even though they implement hacks or exploits. Hackers are the ones making the cheats and cheaters are the ones using them. It is a glorification for a cheater to call them hackers, since they lack the skill or motivation to actually script a cheat, or even play a game as intended.
Yeah there are definitely distinctions between hackers and cheaters (script kiddies too), truth be told that's just how the script came out of my head 😂
I don't think Funcom has much to do with developing anything related to anticheat. They just setup Battleye for the game which is 3rd party and that's all they can do. Cheats usually exploit the engine more than the game itself anyway. What official servers need, is what makes community servers better: admins. But that's a big endeavour Funcom has always avoided, hence cheaters keep shitting on their game.
All online games have to do more than just slap an anti-cheat on a call it good. but with this game you can lose 3 months of playtime in less than an hour to someone cheating.
Absolutely true, they don't develop any anticheat. I'd be surprised if they didn't have at least some form on control on it though. I know Battleye isn't exactly the cutting edge, but they must be able to do something within its framework. Active admins would certainly be much better, though I imagine a logistical nightmare on the backend. A great admin is what makes community servers so great, but a bad one can make a server absolutely awful
Thx for video. The worst thing you can encounter in an mmo game is other players. Some will rob and kill you for fun, others will cheat to make your fun miserable. That's why I avoid PVP and look for games with a single player option.
That's true for most titles unfortunately. I used to really like the idea of the idealized PvP, where you have careful alliances and people don't just fight on sight, let alone cheaters. Unfortunately that's a reality that has yet to come to most PvP games I've played, I don't have the patience for it anymore 😂
Since botting, cheating and hacking is not "illegal" outside of terms of service of said video games and some countries encourage hacking for number of reasons, it does feel like impossible fight.
at BEST I have had them reply a week later asking for video. like come on, you have access to server logs. the people that respond to reports seem to be underpaid customer service people.
And then either the server gang up and throw out the cheaters or the server dies and the cheaters move on... And a month later FC strolls along like "yeah, we checked the spot but nothings there, so can't do anything"
@@claytoncampbell6419I once told them that the server was crashing constantly every time a certain clan was raiding or raided. Got the same reply.. "Can you make a video?" Of what? I play on one unmodded roleplay pve/pvp server where duels in the Arena are the norm for settling conflicts not raiding bases with explosives, and we are suppose to follow rules of engagement. we've had issues of cheaters coming in ignoring our rules, and basically admins constantly having to deal with the choas, they cause. The admins need to constantly rollback the server and the owner basically refuses to password protect the server because that will prevent new users from finding the server. I've just resigned to playing singleplayer or a locally hosted password protected server with friends and hope that no hacker finds my sever and basically tries to brute force the password, after that I'll have to whitelist it I guess. it just shows how toothless battleeye and vac are as anticheats.
they only have teeths in finding cheats on the device they are installed on XD but no cheaters/hackers will ever have it installed in the first place...
I can understand the reluctance to password protect tbh, the process of whitelist applications only really attract new users on already established servers. The choice between discoverability vs security is an annoying one for admins to have to make. It seems most anticheats are toothless nowadays aside from Valorant and Delta Force's ones, I hear they're pretty good. Even Ricochet, COD's anticheat, is nigh-on useless
I quickly stopped playing on official servers and just played solo since then because it got to the point where my bases were being completely destroyed within an hour and if the base was still theee everything inside was gone with no damage at all to the base. Even had someone say their clan was trying to drive everyone off 'their' server. Why not just play on a private one?
I hate to say it, but during these doldrums I started playing Enshrouded. The combat feels a little better, the building feels at least as good - if not better, and the real kicker is that their last update added "living settlements". Except these townsfolk will actually talk about the world and aren't bugged to hell and back. It doesn't have the Conan IP, but the books and comics exist for a reason. Funcom may have just been two days late and ten dollars short with their promise to fix this game.
try soulmask, it is everything mechanics wise that you would want Conan to be. like every failed feature they tried to add soulmask added no problem. you can even automate all crafting and building so your tribesmen will gather and build for you.
I play Enshrouded too, it's pretty good though hits a different "vibe" for me than Conan does. I've heard a lot of people say their Settlements-type feature works perfectly, mine is always playing up, I guess I'm just unlucky 😂
Last big hacker I saw was some loser named Blue Ranger, he got banned, hopefully IP banned and Steam account banned. The fool couldn't understand why ppl would be upset about losing 10's or 100's of hours of play time on a PVE server once no one would play with him on a PVP server, some ppl play games to temporarily escape from the terribleness of life they are trapped by, may he be cursed and reap what they've sown.
Often they are playing to an audience. (Not) Like speedrunners, they stream and generate income by being successful. There's an audience. Witnessed way back in London at a games convention where the aim was to 'win the server'. Different game, but concept the same.
It's certainly been a struggle. But still I think it would have been good for FC to pop something into the forums about how many cheater clans and users had been banned in say a given region over a month.
It certainly might do, assuming it doesn't give away any info hack devs can use. I know a lot of other games publish reports about how many cheaters they've banned, even titles like PUBG that were infested with them at one point
i've noticed that people dont want to work for certain goals or certain "Bragging rights" that easily come with cheating. I never once played any survival game on any official server, its either private server or single/solo mode if a game have it(one day Dayz, one day..) because i've dealt with cheater enough in WoW open world PvP to last me a life time...
Thank you for making this video. I really hope the devs do something about this. I have invested a lot in this game, time and financially. Quit playing a month ago. On PS5, the same guys keep dropping the servers and raiding us while we can't do anything about it. I have lost all hope in Conan and Funcom. I have no intention on purchasing any other games from this company because of this.
there was a guy when I played he just jump from server to server, and just spam a text on global chat that freezes the entire server until someone gets to make his texts disappears from chat, and he could do this at will and even told us how to do. then I abandoned the server, started again in another server and he just appeared there too and did the same thing
My first real experience with online hackers ruining games was Diablo 1 and the whole mess that was. It basically was impossible to play online unless you were either private with your friends or a better hacker than the hackers.
Was on a pve-c server where a cheater killed all thralls (everyone's) and were able to open chests, destroyed one base. FC did nothing. Then a few weeks later the same cheater did a repeat. I had stopped playing or placing gear on my character so lost nothing much, but I did quit the server. My clan already had after the first time.
Funcom has always had issues with Cheaters , especially in PvP, Age of Conan PVP was an absolute mess with speed hacks, god hacks etc. Strangely The Secret World PVP was a lot of fun with minimal issues
Few days ago me and my friend decided to join an official PvP server, we knew before we started we are here just for little time as we know no matter how hard you try to protect your base to stash your loot eventually it will be wiped by a cheater, the server had less than 5 players and within the first 15 mins, our first interaction was with a speed hacker, who killed us both on sight and took our shitty loot.
Haven’t played for around 4 years started back few weeks back some things are better then back then but finding these new problems I never encountered before hopefully them focusing on fixing things help
Actually it's not just the hackers, it's also the spam building land hoarding EVE like players who are the same buttholes. The devs won't fix both. This is why i want the game more single player/co-op instead of the soulless garbage that it is now.
I have this one example before me: Fallout 76. They tried hard to have PvP but failed and finally gave up. As soon as they did that and focused on story expansions cheaters left the game and its players alone. A few PvP players got upset and left too? They were such a small minority it wasn't even noticeable. But now everyone else can play the game in peace. IMO, you can't please everyone and you shouldn't. If you want to have something for PvP players then make a game specifically for them and with maximum security in mind from the start and not as afterthought when damage is already done.
This is really bad! What is wrong with those people? Are they so frustrated with themselve and there live, that they only feel good when they destroy the work of others? I am a console player and dont have any cheaters/hackers problems, thankfully….
Ok 3 things give or take 1st the youtuber that you mentioned i just finished watching one his videos the one with da brothers and the alpha clan the prophecy. 2nd that is why i play on xbox with my own private server away form hackers the one where if people go to far away from each other you get teleported back 3rd the build your doing could you possibly slowly show us how to build it i would love to add it to the collection of building like the villa and the dreaded pencil build lol
Conan is one of my favourite games of all time. I bought all the store items and DLC to support the game. I exclusively played PVP but I quit a while ago before the Age of Heroes because the cheating reached such a point that it became pointless to play anymore. I ran into cheaters every playthrough within days of starting on a server (A lot of people are using tricks for ESP or xray vision to see through bases). The hacks are so out of control that its not even about losing loot anymore. Its just a denial of play. I quit the game and won't be back unless they stop the hacks or the game reaches such a low relevance that no one bothers cheating anymore. Everyone I know who played before quit for the same reason. There are also countless people who started the game and quit upon their first encounter of a cheater. I lasted years but I think the cheaters have cost Funcom millions of dollars.
Cant wait for Funcom to show the world how bad they mismanage their anti-cheat when they release the Dune game. When you report a cheater you usually should not expect a response and even if you do itll be a week later when you have already lost everything and the resolution doesn't help the situation.
I love dune, but there is no way im getting into another game by failcom. Doesn't help that everything they have released on it makes the game look like a generic scifi game with a dune mod on top.
Some of the hackers had some very ... "cute" abilities... like killing you through walls, grabbing items out of locked chests, and killing your thralls even outside of raid times lol. Obviously, speed hacks, flight hacks, immortality, and wall hacks to find any person hiding lol As a pvp guy; I have to be very honest and say im super glad pve players are getting a taste of this now. Not because im a child and want you guys to "suffer" but as you said, its hard to give PVP the attention it requires when the PVE playerbase is so much larger. With the new exposure to to pve servers, it may provide additional incentives to improve either moderation or anti cheat techniques lol.
Tbh part of the problem PvE players have, at least from my perspective, is that we haven't really been able to accurately portray the scale & severity of the cheater problem that PvP has because we just haven't really been confronted with it much. Same reason I don't comment on PvP weapon balancing etc, because I frankly don't know what I'm talking about in that regard 😂 We can only hope it'll improve enforcement & prevention though, people should be able to play the game with relative confidence they won't just get all their gear wiped by a cheater
@Eradicati0nn yup; it honestly functions as a separate game really. The "cheating" problem isnt just "1337 haxxors"; but also crazy exploitation such as building under the map or in the sky lol. And not so much that the cheating happens (it's an online video game lol), its that for many years, funcom has approached it very poorly. I can assure you, some of the changes that happened, you'd have seen and felt in pve. For instance, you have played long enough -> surely you remember how many places you "used to be able to build" right? Most notable and easiest to explain would likely be the volcano; the green wall used to go back much further and you could build anywhere in and on the volcano. These days, its extremely gutted. Is what it is, hoping with this "age of bugfixes" a lot of this stuff can be resolved!
I would think ignoring them kind of good. However like any bully type. It doesn't stop them. No matter how boring it is to them. Private servers they often fear or have a hard time getting to. Often private servers and an admin quickly takes care of things. As someone said thar the ban can be very harsh if they find it. Some times I believe hackers have a motive to the actions. I believe with private servers it could be people from a different private server that feels challenged by having new plays. Perhaps some hackers want to actually kill the game of conan exiles for some grievance of past bugs and mismanagement. Im guessing but there has to be a reason. If it's just to make mad other people they don't know because they had a bad day. Still an issue that no game should be too relaxed on.
So, how will you report them if you dont engage with cheaters? You need good video evidence for report witch is hard to get. Sooner you report them less damage they make to other players and servers.
but you dont. they should have access to gamelogs and be able to check the location of placed items. they never gave people the right tools or flat out never created them to hunt down cheaters so it just went out of control.
I did one day see something funny from a hacker in pve one day. One of our guys was yellling in chat that ths lasy was all over her base. so I went to see what that meant thinking she was just flying aroind.. I get theree and she was not flying but she was a naked 100 foot avatar laying on the ground with HUGE tits. legs right through his crafting area, some of his chests were rifled through but the hacker kind of just took out a few things and struffed the chests with plant fiber. they eventually did a roll back and that fixed the issue. but man, it was kind of crawling on top of a 100 foot naked broad sticking half way through a wall.. lol. In hindsight conan is not hard to accumilate stuff so it wasnt that huge damage to replace his stuff, mostly H. brick and I had Vaults filled with the stuff already.
Sports, business, war, basically any competitive activity involving humans will also involve cheating. Forever. If you're doing something competitive and expecting it to be fair, that's kind of on you for being naive. As the video conclusion says, join (or run) a private server. Why people continue to play with strangers in 2025 is a real head-scratcher.
just look in EFT in 9/10 games their is cheaters and they aer banding together, and in a game i was huge fan of shut down becuse their was so many cheaters and the devs could not shot them down so the game ending shut down after 3 years i was out it was cycle frontiers cheater/hackers killing alot of games and the worst part o if they dont care about anyone they are loosers and allso this was the reason i left the online part in conan exiles now i play singleplayer becuse of cheaters
I do have to say this. Who is actually buying cheats? Cheat engine is a free source, as is the cheat tables. I don't stand for cheating in a group format. Just ro be clear. Also many games actually require cheat engine in order to create mods. Conan isn't one of them but just wanted to mention this.
You now see why the resent announcement about fixing the game instead of adding content that simply brakes it more and more comes as a funny joke to most of us? Especially if you had spend some time on any Official PVP server for any reason the past year. Here is your answer why we don't believe they can fix this game. the cheats for it have goon too far, Zelosykes latest video about some hacker literaly removing gear without killing people, then removing knowledge without killing you, it made me puke.
Conan is overrun with cheaters and Funcom does not care at all. They are focused on Dune so you guys might as well give Conan for dead, Funcom already did.
Yeah its the reason I quit multiplayer FPS games a long time ago. No point in a competitive landscape if even the top players are just zero'd out. This is going to flood over into Dune as well with even more to lose in that game, and numbers will tank very fast.
This video was made before the content pause was announced, hopefully fixing up the anticheat is part of those stability fixes. It's desperately needed, especially for the PvP players

Blue Ranger anyone?
Yep seen him in almost every popular server
don't advertise them, it will only make their ego larger
Been a problem since forever. This and Age of Roll's new stamina system killed PvP completely.
I moved from PC to Xbox to play PVP without hackers. It was good for a year or so until Skybases, Mesh bases and zendesk auto bans became the meta.
Pvp wouldnt be the minority if the game worked correctly.
This is really bad! What is wrong with those people? Are they so frustrated with themselve and there live, that they only feel good when they destroy the work of others? I am a console player and dont have any cheaters/hackers problems, thankfully….
They can come on pve servers and kill all your thralls and loot your chests without breaking anything
As long as online service games exist, so too will "hackers"
Ok 3 things give or take 1st the youtuber that you mentioned i just finished watching one his videos the one with da brothers and the alpha clan the prophecy. 2nd that is why i play on xbox with my own private server away form hackers the one where if people go to far away from each other you get teleported back 3rd the build your doing could you possibly slowly show us how to build it i would love to add it to the collection of building like the villa and the dreaded pencil build lol
They need to hardware bans
Thumbnail do be lookin like Megabyte from Reboot, right?
Every server on PC i played ended wiped by hackers... Thats why dont play Conan anymore and this suck bc i love the game
Some of the hackers had some very ... "cute" abilities... like killing you through walls, grabbing items out of locked chests, and killing your thralls even outside of raid times lol. Obviously, speed hacks, flight hacks, immortality, and wall hacks to find any person hiding lol
As a pvp guy; I have to be very honest and say im super glad pve players are getting a taste of this now.
Malicious hackers dont care. Will never care. All that fuels them is getting away with it.
Sooner you report them less damage they make to other players and servers.
but you dont. they should have access to gamelogs and be able to check the location of placed items. they never gave people the right tools or flat out never created them to hunt down cheaters so it just went out of control.
show some videos of the hacks the hackers are doing and maybe some texts or something. instead of building.
By the way, if everyone can recommend a living fair pvp server for ps5, that would be great! Thank you
I did one day see something funny from a hacker in pve one day.
Conan Exile 2
Ark 2
Both 💀
counted 3-4 hackers on 1080 official (1)vololololololololo+king glitch in clan 666.(2)vivaldie (3)123 (4)騙子
just look in EFT in 9/10 games their is cheaters and they aer banding together, and in a game i was huge fan of shut down becuse their was so many cheaters and the devs could not shot them down so the game ending shut down after 3 years i was out it was cycle frontiers cheater/hackers killing alot of games and the worst part o if they dont care about anyone they are loosers and allso this was the reason i left the online part in conan exiles now i play singleplayer becuse of cheaters
Hackers have been on officials since 2019 idk why you're even bothering to address it now lol
wonderfull castle!
"Solution against cheaters: Stop playing the game, it's all your fault!"
Cheaters*
You now see why the resent announcement about fixing the game instead of adding content that simply brakes it more and more comes as a funny joke to most of us? Especially if you had spend some time on any Official PVP server for any reason the past year. Here is your answer why we don't believe they can fix this game. the cheats for it have goon too far, Zelosykes latest video about some hacker literaly removing gear without killing people, then removing knowledge without killing you, it made me puke.
Game is dead anyways
Lolz
Conan is overrun with cheaters and Funcom does not care at all. They are focused on Dune so you guys might as well give Conan for dead, Funcom already did.
Go to console
havent played online in a few years now...because of the cheaters....sad...
Yeah its the reason I quit multiplayer FPS games a long time ago. No point in a competitive landscape if even the top players are just zero'd out. This is going to flood over into Dune as well with even more to lose in that game, and numbers will tank very fast.
