You and me both, I'd struggle to think of another game that sucks me in as much as Conan does. Glad you enjoyed the build too, turned out alright for just a background build 😂
Great video. Here's hoping it works! My friends and I bounce around from survival game to survival game, but there is always a part of me that wants to play Conan Exiles. Probably my favorite overall experience, warts and all. I hope they can fix enough problems and start up content again, because I want to give my friends a reason to go back!
I agree that they really need to hit the communication right during this period. I think at the start they need to spell out a roadmap/timeline on what they see as the areas that need to be addressed (the more specific the better, although this in itself could cause outcry if they focus on things the community deem non-issues) Then this document needs to be updated regularly, and updates shared with the community.
Yeah comms will doubtless be a big thing for sure. I don't see them doing a timeline myself, or maybe not right away, but a priority list for sure is needed so people can identify what they're working on and how important certain issues are
This is one of my favorite games; one that I keep coming back to again and again. I really want to have hope in the FC team to address all the prominent problems. I'd also love to see an official means of travel between the Exiled Lands and Siptah. I feel like this would aid in making both maps viable and unifying the player base a bit more.

While the biggest, game breaking bugs are priority, I hope they will fix the lesser one too. Especially the old ones, like bazar/battlepass containers do not closing properly. The fact that such simple bug exist for so long is a joke already, if it survive the dedicated bugfixing age it would be a disaster.
At times my internet goes down and I play single player. It sucks too because at those times without an internet connection I can't use anything I earned on battle pass, bought in an expansion, nor anything I bought off the bazaar. Also having the ability to have more than one single player game would be nice along with the ability to export a character off the official servers and into said single player campaigns.
I'm quite fortunate in that my internet is pretty stable, but the few times it has been down, not being able to access Bazaar assets is frustrating. I get why and how it works, but surely there's an alternative to enable it offline too. Save management would also be really nice, I agree. I'm not too sure on importing/exporting, but just being able to have a few different single-player saves that you can swap between without moving files around would be a big QoL change

Aw when i saw another video going up i was hoping it would be a review of the corinthian observatory furniture set that will leave the basar in a few hours. This can work if they make it so taking off your bracelet isnt the end of the game. It should be a pre requisite to travel to other lands. They could add any location of hyboria into the game if they did this. Defeating the exiled lands and taking off the bracelet should be the beginning!
@@einarr7301 I think you should keep the bracelet on, to keep it making sense if you travel back to the EL. They could just change the items that allow you to take off the bracelet to instead trigger a surge/blowback type event to travel to Siptah and add there a few similar items on existing bosses to travel back. So there is some simple kind of gameplay tied to the transfer. Make Siptah free and give people that bought it some free mtx.
Thx for this video Mate. It's too late, Funcom has lost the trust of many players who are losing hope and looking for solace in other games. Sad. If the next patch they release now allows me to run the game, I will stay with CE, but otherwise, as I wrote, patience is over.
Platinum'd this game on Ps4, currently doing it again on Ps5 with a new savefile, loved this game, still do, really hope the Devs work hard on refining it, hell, they could release a Remastered version for $100+ and I'd still buy it, just another chance to platinum it again!
I play a highly modded solo server and content update really does not matter to me, bug fixes however would me awesome, and even a game engine update to include more graphics options, such as Dlss and FSR.
Much like your poll, I am cautiously optimistic that Funcom will put their focus on making Conan Exiles an overall better playing experience. As an Xbox player, my biggest concerns are lag spikes & server disconnects. Thankfully, I haven’t fallen through my floors lately.
Conan exiles is the unique game. I've tested several, but none add the freedom of base creation, engaging combat with combos and variation, a fun map to explore. This combination is what pleased me most about Conan. I'm confident that the game will come back with fewer bugs and will have interesting changes.
Suffered is well put sir! 😂 been a love hate relationship. It made me and my wife very thankful our ttrpg for Conan doesn't have issues like tech does.
@Eradicati0nn besides the time when our hyrkanian was exploring derelict ruins with traps that sometimes still worked..no. lol. He however fell more than half way through.
I don't see why it wouldn't. QoL and bugfixes are always nice. I love conan and think it would be nice to seen them give it some actual under the hood love. Communicate with the community throughout the whole process. Listen. And everything should be great. And maybe talk them into a ue5 port. 😁
Players taking over servers were glitching into my base, stealing all my stuff, killing me and I couldn't hit them, weeks of time wasted. Don't think I am going back
They need to fix the final corrupted authority perk, like every two or three attacks would summon a demon, I would like to play as a abyssal tank that can summon lots of demons on demand, it's called "Demon Lord" but when you try to use it, you are faaaaaaaaaar from it. And maybe the strength corruption ability aswell, imagine just being fully corrupted right, you sacrifice stamina and health, but you can summon demons very regularly, and send enemies flying and do tons of damage. I don't know why they reduce everything by half if you don't really gain "Powerful" abilities.
You and me both 😂 I played R6S when Operation Health came around, it definitely helped the game a bit, though R6S was definitely in a much earlier stage in its life compared to Conan now
I agree with the shifting of developers to Dune. Customer Service and comms will be all hands on deck for launch, but not reassigned for a long period. Unfortunately, I also agree with your assessment that we will not see any uptick in communication. I hope that Funcom can stabilize the game and fix these long-standing bugs. If I could not fall through the foundations at spawn, I would be so much happier. I do think there will be a chance for reflection at the end of this Age of Heroes and Hot Fixes. Whether the base game can be a stable platform for years more of content or if there needs to be a refresh. CE is profitable. Back in Age of Sorcery reveals, Doug was saying the game was successful and if Exiles ever ended it would be to make way for a CE2.
I knew I forgot something in this script 😂 Yeah the marketing engine is gonna be all guns blazing on Dune pretty soon, so now is likely a good time to focus in on the actual issues in Conan. Marketing is one of the few things that probably is shared amongst all Funcom and FC-affiliated titles, so now seems as good a time as any to hold off on the big exciting updates and do what needs to be done.
hmmmmm.....I hope that Conan still gets the curve, as someone who actually only plays solo or in co-op on his own server, I don't really mind much about the game. But I can understand everyone who wants to play on the official servers and have a ‘working’ experience. As for Dune, I'm a little worried that this licence will backfire. Dune as a universe fascinates me, but as someone who likes to solo, or even more likes to stay in their own cosmos, the lack of admin mode makes me a bit uneasy.
When I came back to CE after two years, I was particularily annoyed with the presence of old object collision bugs and fight system flaws. Specifically - thralls still keep sinking/disappearing into the ground when fighting certain world bosses. It actually got worse - now some croc bosses are also causing thralls to disappear under the ground, which was not happening 2 years ago. It used to be only rhino bossed that did it. With dragon bosses, tharalls are still spending half of the fight sunk into the ground to their belts, which otfen makes them unable to reach the enemy. DPS drops drastically and it makes "taunt" feature on thrall-focused build half useless. I would also hope that "turntable spinning" movement of bosses will get fixed at some point. It is not a bug, just lazy mechanics design. Bus sized monsters (smaller ones as well) turning 180 degree in split second without any related limb action is just dumb, engine limitations or not. I was glad to see additions they made over these years, but I'm not sure if accompanying pile of new bugs added to still existing old ones was worth it. Their ignorance of persisting bugs seems to be purposefull at this point, sheer incompetence doesn't look like sufficient explaination. Let's hope that this "age of bug fixing" makes a difference.
I stopped playing because the living settlement system is just cosmetic. I wanted it because I want to raise and provide for my people. Not a system that has no consequences for not feeding your thralls and everything else.
yeah like your thralls bein submerge in the ceilin tiles of the floor even your character or your thralls getting stuck in walls when they walk around sometimes your game crashes or feeezes and sometimes they dont let you craft certain things in your work bench once in awhile that happen to me it ddnt let me craft certain armor
So they broke the game more than usual… Been some time, actually been a couple of years since I played, and there were issues back then. But I ended my run(s), because I’ve built in every place, done every dungeon, built the baddest characters in the span of three thousand hours. I was there when the beta of Isle of Siptah was released, and built my first base on a jutting rock at sea on the south-east coast. Which, btw, was later taken by Funcom as inaccessible due to proximity to an NPC camp. I know both maps like the back of my hand, but I grew up and _’graduated’_ In the aftermath I’ve thought about it’s successor, new mechanics, new methods to farm ore, real stealth sneaking upon enemies. That’s what’s needed, not trying to cram more stuff onto the servers. I discovered many TH-camrs playing the game through live streams; Kiah, AZ, Wak, you of course and many others. The irony is I discovered the game through Shad, and I started to watch his content after seeing his Conan Exiles builds.
Yeah the game's never been free of bugs, the transition to Ages (and especially the past year or so) has just piled them on. What you said about feeling like you'd done everything is also one of Conan's issues. Outside of building, PvP, or getting into mods or roleplay servers, there's a point for most people where they feel like there's nothing else really to do. That's something that I think would need to be addressed too, though is likely a secondary issue. The core playerbase who have already played thousands of hours and would like to continue playing more can't even do that currently, which needs to be tackled before adding more content. If the pause ends up working, they will have to contend with that gap in end-game content though
My game keeps on glitching, freezing, and crashing to the point it's almost unplayable. I can't start all over because I have so much built and items. I'm pretty sure people can agree with me.
Funcom has always been a bandaid-first developer. Waiting until now to start fixing the game is a waste of time. They need to just do Conan 2.0 on unreal 5 and start redoing everything from scratch so they don't have to re-do it 5 years from now!
Fixing bugs and setting a fundation for future releases is a step in the right direction. That is not enough though. The game design is messy imo with no clear vision. So many different systems and no system is really solid or devalued due to changes in other system (like crafting vs loot). AoS was amazing and what took me back to Conan and brought back the hope of a Conan Exiles as promised during early access but AoW was horrible. I still wonder how they thought that would be a fun loop or how they thougt it fit into the setting (triggering a purge feels just weird) and attacking Al-Merayha is 'meh' and does not feel anchored into the setting. Not to mention the low quality of the releases. But, let us hope they fix the technical issues and then make up their mind what kind of game they should do. Hint: Be true to the Conan lore and world. It is in the name!
Priority is clear for the falling through surfaces and such. But the soulless undynamic fixed location of npc spawn is the biggest contributor of the soulless game play. Also the dumb down foods and clothing for climate is a dumb decision, anything that destroys player choices is a dumb down.
I think a lot more people would at least be somewhat open to it. I said the same in a video a while ago, bugs erode at everything, nobody wants to spend money on a game if they can't even play the regular gameplay loop without constant issues
To be honest, I think it's too late. Let's say that they fix every bug in the game. Would that be enough to draw me back? Not really. Despite all the bugs, I've played the exiled lands to death. Siptah is nice but they've ignored it for years and a lot of the new content doesn't work there. They need a new fucking map! Or expand the one we've got. Hell, modders can create whole maps all on their own in their spare time. What is up with Funcom?
Are they ever going to make a PS5 version of the game? Idk why PS was left out to dry while XBox got an uplift long ago. The PS4 version runs like shit, not even reaching a steady 30fps in performance mode, and the graphical fidelity is horrible. Everything looks low res and blurry. Unconscious/dead thralls still disappear immediately after turning your head, still and knocking a thrall out can just send them under the map for no reason. The PvE combat also feels outdated, with animation d-sync and attack start frames being a huge problem. This game needs a lot more than an age of bug fixes to restore goodwill, I've been waiting years for this game to be enjoyable on PS, and it still hasn't happened.
I have zero faith in funcom. it WAS my favourite game but I hate the direction they've taken the game in (I know a lot of people like the focus on drops etc instead of crafting but its not for me). The game has been around for like 8 years and it's always been in a early access tier state, if not worse at times. Funcom also has an extremely bad track record with their previous games .
their is 2 reasons why people back frome early access to realse of the game left the game its bugs and lack og content the thing with you sincking in to the foundation or ceiling have being their since early access, content is a huge part of a sandbox survivel game and if you overlook that as dev you really need to put the head out of the bum becsue you cannot run a game with no content and do as funcom as done back in the days before age system came was duongen and duongen around each 5-7 month that is not content their can remain the people in the game and go maintance mode now to fix bugs and stop new content come to the game is a thing their never should happend, and how long will this happend becuse we all know when it comes to bugs funcom conan´s team is fare frome fast to fix them it has being shown over years on years so yearh i think this is where they have killed the age system and go back to their old way (maintaince mode no content) so many new players have to the game after they luanch the age system becuse we got content it was awesome to see finaly content we have waitet for in years but see it as they shutting it down it will bring does new players away frome the game and the old players their came back to see new content will allso dont come back agian becuse of this, i ahve being fan of the game for 8 years, its turning 8 years for me becuse i joined the EA(early access) the day it luanched and see that letter and followed the game for years it just made me like nope im done age system was the best thing for conan but shutting it down like that no thx, its the same with the crossbow back in EA instead of fixing it the removed it completly and they said (WE MAYBE BRINGING IT BACK IN THE FUTURE) it never happend they never bringed it back even when they have the best option to doit in age of war but no they have never gave the one weapon back they never said a word even when they see people still asking for it. and to see the settlement i was so fucking happy we finaly got it but i can see they gonna shut it down and they have done it with the letter (it last hope i hade for the game they just broke in the letter) anyway thx for the video
If they do what they say then itll only be good. I quit the game after age of heroes dropped because of how unbelievably broken everything is. Even combat is a boring snooze fest. They need to overhaul everything. Pve combat especially. Take a game like valheim, the combats great and never gets old. Boss fights feel good and you dont start glitching out if you run into an enemy or npc nor do you get stuck inside them. Im not saying they should make the combat exactly like valheim, but the way it is currently is dated. Its just not fun
Idk if it'll bomb, I think it might end up doing well, but I don't think it's as universally known as something like Conan. It does seem to have missed the hype of Dune part 2 though, unless the full release is targetted for around a potential Dune part 3. Hard to say for certain tbh
I’m tired of people saying “communication about what the developer is doing is key.” No it isn’t. If a bug gets fixed, does it matter if you were told about the progress while it was being fixed? Is it any less fixed if you weren’t informed? No. Communication like that takes time: would you rather the developer spend time and money on communication or on actually improving the game? Are you willing to pay up to cover the overhead of your precious communication, or is the developer just supposed to eat that? It’s not just a quick “here’s a list of stuff.” Before any public communication, it has to go through legal to make sure no IP is compromised and NDAs are not violated. It has to go through management to make sure it stays within the company’s mission. It has to go through marketing to make sure it’s consistent with the company’s branding. Etc etc etc I don’t know who people think they are, saying they are owed an explanation and progress updates because they paid $40 for a game 7 years ago. No you’re not. That’s not part of what you bought, get over it.
I'm one of the people who feel that this is leading to maintenance mode. I doubt that they will add more DLC going forward, just items in the bazaar. I strongly suspect that Funcom wants to make Conan Exiles stable so that they can focus on other things. They will keep the game going as long as players support it. If the community stops buying things from the Bazaar, Funcom will sunset Conan Exiles.
Why is no one screaming about the duplication.. get rid of the f****** build hammer.. since day one that goddamn Hammer has f*** s*** up when it came out..
Also I doubt conan has 10kr regular players on console. I'll admit I haven't played / checked for probably 9 months, but if you count all the players on PS servers it's usually less than 500. But I have no idea if tons of people play single player.
Dune is going to bring in hype for sure, but I 100% will go back to Conan Exiles. As you said in the beginning, the "Conan" name is insanely well known and also Dune will be a whole other type of game that some people won't enjoy. Conan for the natural fantasy, Dune for the sci-fi fantasy.
I could see myself playing Dune, but I don't think it'll take up the same space that Conan does for me. I initially thought it'd just be two flavours of the same experience, but what we've seen thus far looks different enough that I think both games will be separate enough. I'm not really big on sci-fi, but Dune definitely appeals more to me than something like Star Wars, that's for sure 😂

My gut feeling is Funcom makes more money from PvE. They do not feel like PvP is a good investment. Funcom has an extremely greedy parent company.
@perceivedvelocity9914 it's not a good investment because all the pvpers left because they didn't invest in fixing cheating. It's a vicious circle
This completely sounds like an official server problem. Private owned servers don't have this issue.

That's a great idea
You're telling me your characters never fall halfway through the board? Now that I just can not believe 😂
As a R6S player when I heard this news about Conan, the name Age of Health came to mind.
You and me both 😂 I played R6S when Operation Health came around, it definitely helped the game a bit, though R6S was definitely in a much earlier stage in its life compared to Conan now
I got one question : are the purges finally working well? By this i mean they spawn outside of your base, attack it, and are a real threat?
Personally I think FC got a little over ambitious with the 6 month plan . And I hope this “age of fixes” will keep the game going for years to come.
I’m expecting server transfers to come back as saving grace for Conan’s player base.
This is what Funcom should have done, years and and years ago. Better late than never
The real heroes are the devs that fix the floor mesh issue.
If the pause ends up working, they will have to contend with that gap in end-game content though
they need to support add creators like skyrim
My game keeps on glitching, freezing, and crashing to the point it's almost unplayable. I can't start all over because I have so much built and items. I'm pretty sure people can agree with me.
Are those issues related to online gameplay? Because I've never ran in to any of them since I only play co-op with my bud.
Easier said than done
Priority is clear for the falling through surfaces and such. But the soulless undynamic fixed location of npc spawn is the biggest contributor of the soulless game play.
Also the dumb down foods and clothing for climate is a dumb decision, anything that destroys player choices is a dumb down.
Wish they will fix the player count and servers on Xbox :/
I love conan exiles but I feel like the vast majority of community servers are dead
I cant even log in to any server
I would actually spend $$$$ on a working game
Fucnob only cares about Dune: Awakening now.
their is 2 reasons why people back frome early access to realse of the game left the game its bugs and lack og content the thing with you sincking in to the foundation or ceiling have being their since early access, content is a huge part of a sandbox survivel game and if you overlook that as dev you really need to put the head out of the bum becsue you cannot run a game with no content and do as funcom as done back in the days before age system came was duongen and duongen around each 5-7 month that is not content their can remain the people in the game and go maintance mode now to fix bugs and stop new content come to the game is a thing their never should happend, and how long will this happend becuse we all know when it comes to bugs funcom conan´s team is fare frome fast to fix them it has being shown over years on years so yearh i think this is where they have killed the age system and go back to their old way (maintaince mode no content) so many new players have to the game after they luanch the age system becuse we got content it was awesome to see finaly content we have waitet for in years but see it as they shutting it down it will bring does new players away frome the game and the old players their came back to see new content will allso dont come back agian becuse of this, i ahve being fan of the game for 8 years, its turning 8 years for me becuse i joined the EA(early access) the day it luanched and see that letter and followed the game for years it just made me like nope im done age system was the best thing for conan but shutting it down like that no thx, its the same with the crossbow back in EA instead of fixing it the removed it completly and they said (WE MAYBE BRINGING IT BACK IN THE FUTURE) it never happend they never bringed it back even when they have the best option to doit in age of war but no they have never gave the one weapon back they never said a word even when they see people still asking for it.
and to see the settlement i was so fucking happy we finaly got it but i can see they gonna shut it down and they have done it with the letter (it last hope i hade for the game they just broke in the letter)
anyway thx for the video
If they do what they say then itll only be good. I quit the game after age of heroes dropped because of how unbelievably broken everything is. Even combat is a boring snooze fest.
They need to overhaul everything. Pve combat especially. Take a game like valheim, the combats great and never gets old. Boss fights feel good and you dont start glitching out if you run into an enemy or npc nor do you get stuck inside them.
Im not saying they should make the combat exactly like valheim, but the way it is currently is dated. Its just not fun
dune will bomb, theyve missed the boat...
Etc etc etc
I don’t know who people think they are, saying they are owed an explanation and progress updates because they paid $40 for a game 7 years ago.
If the community stops buying things from the Bazaar, Funcom will sunset Conan Exiles.
theyre killing the game, nothing new or fresh. people are bored
Nope lol
Are we certain this isn't just an excuse to take the game into maintenance mode?
I think positive but...
R. I. P. Conan...
Why is no one screaming about the duplication.. get rid of the f****** build hammer.. since day one that goddamn Hammer has f*** s*** up when it came out..
The previous clickbait video was not the kind of content I'm following you for, and I hope it remains an outlier.
No
Also I doubt conan has 10kr regular players on console.
They'd be better off making a new one.
Lmao you don't believe Dune had anything to do with how Conan is fairing now..... Sweet naive summer child
