On my 67 Deluxe cargo floor wa solid just needed to replace outside edges with the 11" patch panel. Had to replace the outside edges of the Top Hats plus all the out riggers, inner & out rocker panels. Plus like yours had to put new metal behind the seats. Looks like they all have they same rusted out areas.. Mike the detal of these repairs will help so many of us bus guys, there really not much out there showing this detail and methods . Thnk you for taking the time showing these repairs. Aways felt a true craftsman job is always to pass along his skills .This would have been so helpful when doing my 67 , from watching this i did ok maybe a few things made them harder than needed to get the job done. Thank you again Mike for taking the time and showing us how to save our VW buses..best value added videos on you tube.

@@Mikefngarage Mike 8 years ago when I started on my 67 bus , I looked and looked for info on you tube with this detailed content there was none. I did not give up, I have all the needed skills and equipment & I did figure it out. Wacting you i'm glad I used close to the same methods , but I would of had less stress more enjoyment and sleep if I found what you are sharing. I do not fully understand it myself; but i really love these old vw buses and beetles, and the people who save them have my smae DNA. . I grew up with them in the 60's & 70's.

@@busman5429 thanks for that. I talk to so many people with skills and they dont know how to do this stuff so they pay guys thousands of dollars. to do it. most of the time they end up not being able to drive the car because it comes out too nice. so I figured on making a series on how to get one done. faster and easier than some of the stuff out there that requires such patience and talent.

I am you are being practical in your repairs. None of the ones learning from your work is doing it to do professional restorations. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas.

Great series. Really enjoying this. Gaining much more appreciation of what was involved with the work done on my 69 single cab.

Mike I know this ? is a day late but yesterday I think about this. A dual port head dont come alive until it gets a 2bbl.to support it. Where I use to work at the sheet metal shop - we had a relief die and it would be no problem to make those Hat channels we used them under tables... And the press had gauges Merry Christmas to all in VW community.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
