@@StAntonioStefanov Exactly. And they could’ve made a difference by making it solar powered, and perhaps radio controlled. That would be a premium digital, but no, the Swiss always take the lazy, low tech route in quartz. Hail to the Japanese.
To be honest, the PRX digital watch looks much better in person. I know it receives criticism because some people see it as just a pricier version of a Casio watch. I have the silver mirrored finish, and it's truly stunning. What sets it apart is the fantastic bracelet that comes with it, something you can't find on a Casio. I own the Casio A1000 premium vintage, and while it's a great digital watch, the mineral crystal and the mesh bracelet leave something to be desired. I managed to find a used digital PRX on eBay for $130 in excellent condition, and for that price, it's a clear winner over the Casio, with its sapphire crystal and other subtle details that really stand out in person. The silver mirror finish gives it a refined and sophisticated look that you don't typically find in other digital watches. If you're interested in this watch but hesitant about the $350 retail price, I highly recommend buying it secondhand. At that point, it's hard to find fault with it. For anyone considering spending $350 on a digital watch, the PRX would definitely be the top choice.
Generally speaking, I agree with you about the Olympic releases but I own the 2020 Tokyo (red) and the 2022 Beijing w/ olympic colors on the even number markers and titanium bezel. They are quite nice. Additionally, I would love to see Omega do a cool Olympic quartz. Greta idea!
The PRX has been a huge success due to it giving you more than you pay for. The finishing, integrated bracelet and dial are much nicer than the price paid. I don't think that applies to the PRX digital. Most people think Casio digitals are the way to go, they give you way more bang for the buck than the PRX digital. Just my opinion.
You know what? When I was in high school in 1975 they came out with red LED watches. I had a black watch with a black screen. When you pushed the button once it showed the time in RED numbers, push it again, and the date appeared, then the display would time out. They took two hands to use and they were battery hogs. I'm sure they could update those watches- to be more efficient, and easier to one hand activate. Frankly they would be something different from the vastly over duplicated LCD watch type.
People do need digital watches. You would be surprised how many people among us have dyscalculia and find analog watches really hard to read. The problem is not many manufacturers put effort into making high quality and interesting designs in the digital space. I would personally love to see a range of men's and women's Ana Digi's make a return to the market. Tissot is on the mark here.
I agree that the idea of a more quality digital watch is great...unfortunately this PRX is just aesthetically poorly designed, and seemingly that's what most other people are saying as well. Hopefully they try again and improve, because I would definitely enjoy a higher quality digital.

Swiss watch brands should do what they do best - make mechanical watches. No need for quartz or digital movements, which they cannot master and get third parties in some far east country to manufacture the chip for them. They simply cannot compete with in house electronic calibers of Casio, which is way ahead of any player in the market with their precision and accuracy for digitals.
Aesthetically, I’m not thrilled with the dial face of that digital PRX. Something just says bland to me. The Casio might be cheaper in price and build quality, but it’s at least aesthetically pleasing to me. This is coming from someone who loves the look of the mechanical PRX and owns one.
What about the good old Rolex Air-King? Might be a more niche purchase than the OP but still a Rolex that looks more like a sports watch with the crown guards, can be a head turner in more than one way
I like the PRX line, but I personally feel like Tissot dropped the ball on this one. The quartz and automatics were a great modernization of the original PRX and I have a 40mm and am seriously considering getting the 35mm, since I like a smaller watch. I liked the way Tissot was able to differentiate the look of the automatics and the quartz models and give them a very upscale look. This however, from a design standpoint, to me looks lazy. They took the PRX case, dropped a digital display in it and called it a day. This is just my opinion, and I am pretty sure you're right that these watches will fly off the shelves like all the other PRX models.
The problem is, for digital watch collector, PRX digital isn't that special. There was Omega Speedmaster LCD as you mention in around 10:53, there is Casio A171WE and so on (put them in the video next time). On the other hand, if a watch collector doesn't really understand 80s watch, they don't even understand what Tissot is doing. These is a reason why Casio seems to forget about their A171WE (only one extra watch after their first release). When most people want to buy a digital watch, they want to buy a funky one like A100WE or Q Timex digital. And that's not a good news for Tissot PRX Digital.
I will not opt for the Tissot one. It just doesn't appeal to me. Maybe the case and bracelet are better but if you really want, you can easily change those on a Casio. All the way upto titanium. The design looks like they just placed a quartz movement into an normal watch. I don't believe it is the exciting offering you think it is. It would have shown more creativity if they really designed a quartz watch. So to me Casio is still the king here. I do like the Omega quartz watch you showed with the normal dial next to it. Thats shows thought and an exciting design
I like the new prx digital, but I wouldn't change my casio a158 for it. Casio costs 30 euro and not 70... Also I always wear it while swimming and never had any problems, which means it is water resistant enough for me. Then the battery life is 7 years, which is much better than the tissot's 4 years. Lastly, I think that the casio modules are much easier to operate. So for the price of the tissot you can get 10-12 casios and have as much fun as you want. Sure, I wish casio could make a stainless steel digital watch with saphire crystal and a decent bracelet and water resistance that is not a gshock costing more than 1.000 euro, but then it would be too serius and too expensive for what essentially is a fun watch. That' exactly how I feel about the prx digital. Beatiful watch, but too expensive for what it is.
@@e28forever30 I have that one. Cool watch. But chunky and uncomfortable to wear. (Because of those unflexible endlinks.) I ended up wearing my 5610 instead, most of the time.
When they first talked about the PRX I distinctively remember Theo saying that if they made it in gold he would DEFINITELY buy one in a heartbeat, without a doubt, because he loved it so much. Here we are, years later, them praising another PRX and saying that they want to buy one and that it's so affordable in the same breath as admitting that they don't own a Tissot. The praise isn't worth much from people who don't live up to their word.
A Casio A1000 (all metal, on a very good mesh bracelet, that you can put a quality 18mm strap on too) at $100 is way cooler because it’s authentic vintage retro and has no brand baggage. The analogue PRX is a decent quality cut-price integrated bracelet watch with attractive dial colours at an acceptable price. But the digital version has a $20 LCD module that looks like a $10 LCD module with parts-bin pushers and enough dead space on the monochrome dial face to fit the list of required improvements. Fundamentally now Tissot is a one-trick pony; its PRX. And it seems only able to milk this cash cow.
I’ve got to say I completely disagree because you seem to misunderstand why purchasing a Casio digital is so much fun. The PRX digital is unquestionably better quality, but you completely lose everything that makes a Casio cool. It’s the low price mixed with 80’s goodness that makes them so enjoyable. The Tissot has none of that and I feel it will never gain any traction. The average watch buyer will look at this like a fart in church!
Loving your videos boys the enthusiasm and passion is all second to none. It's that good I've just subscribed! However sorry lads but the Tissot digital PRX is a.definate No-No for me.lads
I have to disagree about the digital PRX. Design wise, it reminds me of those early lcd watches. I had one as a kid and I remember. Mine was a Timex. My mom bought it for me at a drug store for about $10 in the late 70s. Round case, rectangular display, lots of empty space on the dial. Now, it didn't have that sexy PRX bracelet, or sapphire crystal. And it was, essentially, a disposable watch. A few years later in the early 80s I replaced it with a Casio. Now, if Tissot is going for something better, I am all for it as I could use a high quality digital or ani digital watch, , but this PRX aint it.
Oh please... for $450 you get an all metal Casio G-Shock square GMWB5000D-1 which you can use to tell time while 200m underwater or to drive a nail into a plank ... if you think the Tissot is better than that watch you lost all credibility.
I’ve been saying this, I’ve paid $700 CAD for a full metal GSHOCK but find it very chunky, this is a great middle ground between a cheap casio and the full metal G. I want this tissot pretty bad.
@@e28forever30 I just think it’s neat and pretty cheap 🤷🏼♂️, I haven’t seen any for sale yet but I wouldn’t pay full retail but would pick one up used or on sale.
@@jonathandosman5496 Depends on what you call cheap. The module sure is, no effort was made to make it stand out. Where did the Swiss get their reputation for excellent engineering? In the Quartz world, they’re 30 years behind on the Japanese, who actually employ engineers.
Sorry guys. The PRX digital is the worst iteration in the PRX line. Take the quartz PRX and dump the great dial work, chuck the 7 nice color ways and put in an ugly digital modual? No sale. If you believe your own BS here I want to see you buy one and wear it regularly.
I learned to tell time on an analog clock. I love mechanical watches, but I also own G-shock analog watches. The PRX digital is ugly to begin with. I personally do not want a digital watch on my wrist. I reject digital. This watch is obviously for the generation of kids (adults now) that grew up not learning how to tell time on an analog clock, and not needing to. Now they have a job and a few bucks and want to graduate from their apple / smart watch. However, they can't tell time on a regular watch, and if they could, they just prefer digital.
“Extremely high level” Sure guys, a lazy ass basic LCD module, without a day/date, no Solar, no Multiband, push down backplate.. How much did the Swatch group pay you?
"Tissot made a digital watch and it's the best thing I've seen in awhile" - TOTALLY INSANE opinions here. So close to unsubscribing it's such a bad take.
I wouldn't question it if one of them liked it, but it's such an awful watch that it's almost impossible to believe that neither of them hates it. Makes me wonder what their agenda is.
I don't mind the concept of the p r x digital. But something seems off with the design . The round and the square just don't go together. Casio design works better. Take a look at the way the round G shocks and their square g shocks cases Integrate into the dials . It just works. Tissot could have done better

I like it. I want it!
How many different titles has this video had already?
So glad you think its a cool watch, just picked one up at a bargain.
I weirdly love them. But them again, I like my g-shocks and they go to around 400-600 for full metal ones (and way more, obviously).
But a full metal G has much more to offer, there’s actual premium technology inside, compared to this awful Tissot cash grab.
People hate them because they’re overprized quartz watches that look like cheap!
Why you named your channel Theo and Harris?
The Speedy is not too large for you Michael. Just buy one already. 👍
Casio represent!!
Michael that speedy isn't too big for your wrist. I think you should pull the trigger.
Really wish the digits were green/ red.
Tissot is moving nicelyyyyy
You guys forgot that the Tissot has sapphire crystal. The Casino is plastic
What Casino?
Also most Casio's give you only mineral a crystal (if lucky). Even the $450- G-Shock square doesn't come with sapphire.
Never heard of a GMW-B5000?
It eats this Tissot for breakfast.
@@e28forever30 I have that one. Cool watch. But chunky and uncomfortable to wear. (Because of those unflexible endlinks.) I ended up wearing my 5610 instead, most of the time.
Has Christian ever smoked a bong in his life lmao, highlight reel right there
When they first talked about the PRX I distinctively remember Theo saying that if they made it in gold he would DEFINITELY buy one in a heartbeat, without a doubt, because he loved it so much.
I want this watch too 😊
I’ve got to say I completely disagree because you seem to misunderstand why purchasing a Casio digital is so much fun.
I enjoy a watch that rewards my eyes every time I look down at it. The digital PRX isn't it. 🤢🤮
The latest digital PRX just destroyed the PRX line and Tissot. No longer a buyer. Dumb move and pricy too? Pfffff come on!
Oh please... for $450 you get an all metal Casio G-Shock square GMWB5000D-1 which you can use to tell time while 200m underwater or to drive a nail into a plank ... if you think the Tissot is better than that watch you lost all credibility.
Exactly.
B5000 FTW.
It's a cool watch. (I have a B5000 myself.) But I'm surprised that a $450- watch doesn't come with a sapphire crystal.
I’ve been saying this, I’ve paid $700 CAD for a full metal GSHOCK but find it very chunky, this is a great middle ground between a cheap casio and the full metal G. I want this tissot pretty bad.
In terms of technology, it’s very close to a cheap Casio, and far off from a full metal G..
@@e28forever30 I just think it’s neat and pretty cheap 🤷🏼♂️, I haven’t seen any for sale yet but I wouldn’t pay full retail but would pick one up used or on sale.
@@jonathandosman5496
Depends on what you call cheap.
The module sure is, no effort was made to make it stand out.
Where did the Swiss get their reputation for excellent engineering?
In the Quartz world, they’re 30 years behind on the Japanese, who actually employ engineers.
I'd take GMW-B5000D instead.
Only the very best spin doctors can claim that the tissot digital is a good idea.. Only the very best
Hamilton psr is a cool digital watch too
It is. I like the look of the green one.
Oh but I do.
“Extremely high level”
Sure guys, a lazy ass basic LCD module, without a day/date, no Solar, no Multiband, push down backplate..
How much did the Swatch group pay you?
In what alternate universe is the digiPRX a good design? It looks like a cheap drug store watch from some unknown brand.
Just buy a casio + a mod kit and get a cooler watch done to your preferences and save a few hundred .
CASIO A171WE-1ACF thats the one...
100%
In reply to your title, yes it is.
I guess I am the one freak you all thought might exist.
Nah!! This digital prx has to be compared to the full metal g shocks… not the regular g shocks and tbh I don’t think they are up to par.
Exactly, they are absolutely not on par.
"Tissot made a digital watch and it's the best thing I've seen in awhile" - TOTALLY INSANE opinions here. So close to unsubscribing it's such a bad take.
It’s horrible
I wouldn't question it if one of them liked it, but it's such an awful watch that it's almost impossible to believe that neither of them hates it. Makes me wonder what their agenda is.
I like it, bought one.
I’d rather get the Hamilton PSR. Much better looking digital watch imo.
PRX digital…. The horological equivalent of a fart in church.
I don't mind the concept of the p r x digital. But something seems off with the design . The round and the square just don't go together. Casio design works better. Take a look at the way the round G shocks and their square g shocks cases Integrate into the dials . It just works. Tissot could have done better
Because for a fraction of the price you can buy a Casio.
The PRX digital is a steaming turd. You really sold your souls on this one.
Bottom right blur thing keeps blocking my view of Theo's watch
Guys, please never use "high horology" and "digital watch" in one sentence anymore. There's no way these two fit together.
agree.
Nice to see drake bell reviewing watches now. 😂
Swatch group should tweak and modernize the pan europ
Tissot just milking their PRX 😂... I am not a fan of the digital dial look. I would rather buy the full gold automatic 35mm PRX
JLC was probably always underpriced.
The Tissot PRX is so overrated it's actually crazy
These titles though
Get a metal square with f you want something special, prx is just horrible, 3$ look!
The digital PRX ain’t it.
I am sorry but these new Tissot digitals are terrible. Maybe because I already lived through this period.
Stop the cap. Rhe digital PRX is just lazy. That is what makes this overpriced.
