I just want to express my first impression, I am not a quaker but may be looking into it soon. I am stunned by the elevation this woman has reached. I truly see light in her eyes. I saw it immediately.
I really resonate with that sense of home!! That feeling that this makes sense... I had been looking for Friends without knowing I was. Yet, my story is different... I am a black African in Africa and it was the white Friends I was comfortable with.
She just articulated my entire life as a young person at meetings for worship....and a Quaker schools “ friends schools” .....this is SO VALUABLE for Quakers
I love how she said complete sentences. To me that’s a call back to all those televangelists that spoke in “tounges” lol. Sorry I just get the feeling that’s what she was referencing 1:38
As an Attender in the Western USA, it is sad to hear that Friends of different races feel the need to self-segregate based upon lines. We are taught to walk into the suffering, take time to understand, reflect upon our own ego, come together as ONE in continuing revelations, and listen to God through the voices of all not just one cultural or racial group or another. God Speaks through all peoples because all peoples have a little bit of God within them. Hands down, I get a deep emotional dismay that Ayesha experienced and if I am able to go to PA then I will attend one of the open meetings as a form of solidarity. We are all Children of the Light.
I'm curious. If female or male Quakers chose to gather together, are they self- segregating based upon lines? Have you been in rooms for decades where you are the only person that looks like you?
Narcissism of Small Differences. We need to recognize that a small difference in genes should not lead us towards mental affliction. I have three distinct points of my heritage that span 3 different continents, that has put me on the receiving end of this paradigm. Education is better than ignorance.@@janeenjourney43
