    Wonderful, the name of the stitch caught my attention, the camel stitch. We own a herd of camels that my father adored until he died. I pray to God for him always in heaven.🌹

      That is so sweet. If you are a believer and your dad was a believer, he is In Christ and In you. Because when we hear and believe the True Gospel, we get God living In us! We are Born again, Passed from death to LIFE! Because these flesh bodies go back to the dust, but if we have God In us, He IS LIFE, and so our Spirit Is Alive In Him, and can Never Die.
      1Cor 3:16- Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwelleth IN you?
      John 4:24- GOD IS A SPIRIT and they that worship Him Must Worship Him In Spirit And In Truth.
      1Tim 1:17- Now unto the King Eternal, Immortal, INVISIBLE, the ONLY Wise GOD, be honour and glory for ever and ever, Amen.
      1Tim 2:5- For There is ONE GOD and One Mediator between GOD and men, the Man Christ Jesus;
      Col 2:9- For IN Him Dwelleth all the Fullness of the Godhead bodily.
      This world ( flesh) is temporal. ( temporary).
      Everything we see with our eyes is temporary.
      2Cor 4:18- While we look Not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are NOT SEEN: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are NOT SEEN Are ETERNAL.
      God who IS a Spirit, was IN Jesus. Jesus died for the sins of the world, ( GOD is a Spirit and Can never die),was buried, and on the third day God Raised him from the dead according to the scriptures.
      We Only Need to Believe this Truth, and God Will also Raise up us! He puts His Spirit ( Eternal Life) IN us believers! And we ARE SAVED! WE ARE Passed from Death to LIFE!
      It is instantaneous! HE Is IN us, and We IN Him! And so shall we ever be with the Lord! He will Never Leave us or Forsake us! No Works, No Rituals, No Religion!!!
      He has ALREADY Forgiven us of Every sin we ever did and Will Do. It is a FREE GIFT. It IS FINISHED.
      God Is here Right Now, IN every Believer!!! His Word Is Spirit and It Is LIFE!! Hear the Gospel Word, and Believe, and be SAVED! We believers are already seen in heavenly places!! We just can’t see with our Carnal Eyes! But this world is but a vapor. We Must Be Born Again by the Word of God. I hope that you will Hear and Believe, because He is IN me, and In All Believers! Glory to God!
      ❤️ 🌺 🐑 🌳 ☀️

    You are amazing ! I am a visual learner and have been struggling with written patterns for years. Watching your videos has launched a whole new world for me. I feel so empowered to take on all sorts of projects and learn all sorts of new stitches. You are such a good teacher. Things that were never clear to me before are now crystal clear. I just retired two months ago and my fourth grandbaby is due in a few weeks. What perfect timing for me to really believe I am now a good crocheter with endless projects ahead of me. I just finished a corner to corner blanket for the new baby and will start a big girl quilt for the one year old using the camel stitch Thank you!.

    @BellaCoco
    Hi Bella , I was wondering, if you wouldn't get a more streamlined effect, if you instead of the vertical loop instead used the 'first loop' (when looking at the stitch from the top it's the loop at the right side, towards the wrong side) on top of the row?? Because when I look closely at your swatch, every second cable have 3 bars instead of 2.
    I have used the back loop effect before, that's why I'm considering this.
    I really like your videos, so keep up the good work.
    Sincerely Pia, Denmark

  • @SophieMia806

    This stitch is beautiful! I don't think I've ever heard of it before. Would this work up well as a scarf, if I make the rows and ridges along the whole length of the scarf, and not side to side? I was wondering if it is very flexible, or a little stiffer due to the half double crochet (US) plus the ridges. Would a double crochet stitch (US) make it more flexible for a scarf? Anyone's helpful reply is welcome. Thank you.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m glad you like it 😊 It would make a lovely scarf I think, with the stitch worked lengthways instead of widthways as you describe. I’d recommend making up a small swatch first in your chosen yarn and hook; if it’s a bit stiff you could try going up a hook size as this will give the fabric more drape.

    • @bellacococrochet

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  ปีที่แล้ว

      This stitch does have a tendency to cinch in; I would work a simple border of double crochet stitches (UK terms) around the outside and then you have a good base ready to work a decorative edge if you prefer 😊 I have a tutorial that shows how to prepare your crochet for a border here: th-cam.com/video/904wGzBtLwY/w-d-xo.html - I think it would also help if you blocked your work once it is finished too. Best wishes to your friend 💕

      If you are wanting to make a hat then you may be better off crocheting a flat piece and seaming it together up the sides - you can then cinch the top together. This way the stitch will be the same all around 😊

    Hi, just want to say thank you for making your tutorials so easy to follow! I’ve just started crocheting and am in the process of making a throw. I’ve had to unpick it back to the first row due to making what I now know (watching your common mistakes video!) are common mistakes. Fingers crossed this time it turns out better! Oh...love seeing all your different nail colours too...they always look fab! 😁 x

    Tell me if I understand these things right when it comes to this stitch:
    1. The right side is the side the ribs are on
    2. Crocheting into the 3rd loop from the side facing you causes the ridges to appear on the other side of the work.
    Crocheting into the 3rd loop on the side not facing you, behind the two loops one would usually work into, causes the ridges to face you
    3. The camel stitches go as follows:
    When the right side is facing you you crochet into the 3rd loop behind the two loops one would normally work into.
    When the wrong side is facing you, crochet into the 3rd loop directly facing you.
    Alternate this pattern throughout?

      It sounds like your starting chain could be too tight - if you try using a bigger hook size for the chain stitches before switching back down it should stop curving 😊

    Awesome. If I need to make it big enough to cover lap and legs for a friend doing chemo how many chains would you start with.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on what yarn and hook you’re using; I would make a small sample swatch (say twenty to thirty chains) that you can measure and use to work out how big you want it. Sending my best wishes for your friend 💕

    • @debischlemmer7878
      @debischlemmer7878 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have found perfect wool and we need it 100cm width. Silly question cause I just made chains until it measured 100cm so have no idea how many why does one need multiples of 2 and if I don’t what impact would it have. Thanks so much for the guidance 😊

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does depend on your own personal tension and what hook size you plan to use, as well as how big you want the scarf to be 😊 If you crochet a small sample square and then weigh it, you can use that to estimate how much yarn you will need for your project.

    I was making a poncho, and I did the first panel with the knit stitch.. Then I realized this looks nicer so i did this instead with the second panel. Realized too late that the camel stitch panel is a lot shorter! Same amount of yarn used, but this makes it tighter i guess, and it makes a difference on a big piece. Hoping blocking will even them out lol

    • @bellacococrochet

      I've not seen the camel stitch worked in the round in the same way as a granny square is, but you can add a camel stitch border to a granny square by following my tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/lq6yYJdj0Wo/w-d-xo.html 🙂

    This scarf goes virtually or horizontal

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can work this stitch either way - if you want the pattern to be horizontal you should chain to the width of the scarf; if you would like it to be vertical you should make a much longer chain to the length of the scarf 😊
